  1. CAUTION - BEWARE OF BLAST 2.pdf decals and instruction sheet. This is a pretty cool kit; I’m glad it was made and it was cool to have had a hand in it. It would definitely be a doable project to make up your own from sheet stock.
  2. I will definitely replace the pistons with brass rod.
  3. ok the 3 panels are the same size: 8 3/4" l x 3 7/8". The grids are 1"x1". The pit for the hydraulics is 7 1/4" L x 1 1/2" divided into 3 sections: two 1 3/4" and the centre dividers are 1/16" The interior of the pit is lined 1/16" vertical bars. There's 2 tabs per section to mount the shields. The 4 shields are 1 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" tall. It seems to me that it was constructed with evergreen sheet stock and that checks with conversations I had with fellow who made it at the time.
  4. That’s a cool idea! What would it look like? Is there any refs out there?
  5. Yes, I think so! Let me get some measurements together! I’ll add it to the list!
  6. Here’s a cool little footnote in the history of Macross kits: a flight deck kit that was pretty accurate to the deck of the Prometheus. It was sold through the Starship Modeler store iirc. I built the Valkyrie for the box display and I have the sample build. It needs a little TLC and then I’ll post up some pics. I have one “fresh” kit that I will be using for my Bushmasters build.
  7. Interesting! I bought the COTB vhs from a Coles bookstore in Niagara Falls, NY probably around 92-93 and was blown away because I didn’t know anything about it other than I recognized the SDF-1! Good luck on the hunt!
  8. The panel lines are super wide on this oldie! I used a greenish brown for most of the panel lining and some blacker on certain areas to give the impression that they open. It was a limitation of the kit that I wasn’t prepared to correct, lol. It is a very small plane! It fits in the palm of my hand. The base kit is definitely not as crisp as say a Has VF. It was a bit of a nostalgia build. Interesting comments though, thank you all.
  9. The plastic was quite brittle and I had to build a few spots, for example the head cracked apart into little pebbles at one point and the wing tips were quite thin before adding the nav lights.
  10. Thanks for the kind responses fellas. It was a bit difficult and I had to work for this one!
  11. Hey, nice job, that looks like it was a difficult kit to work with. Nicely done.
