GobotFool Posted July 23, 2004 Share Posted July 23, 2004 A live action Transformers movie is either gonna be increadibly silly or err.............increadibly silly.I'm not saying that just because I dislike transfomers, but I just honestly can't see how the heck the concept could work in the live-action format without having a huge 'giggle factor' attached. Sorry, I just think it would be impossible to watch with a straight face. (Edit in) Just to add, I'm not trying to bash Transformers (honestly). I can understand people's attraction to the cartoon, toys and comics, even if I don't like them myself, but I just can't see any director beeing able to pull off a live-action version. I will admit to not being a total Tf hater. I did watch the Tf movie at the cinema in the 80s and enjoyed it and even own it on bootleg DVD (the only peice of Tf merchandise I've ever owned). Graham Have you ever seen transformers the movie? That didnt have any giggle factor and was more "realistic" than minmay's singing stunts.... Ummmm,Junkion dance, wheelie? Hikuro Posted July 23, 2004 Share Posted July 23, 2004 I'm not gonna get my hopes up, but I'm not gonna bash my childhood down the drain either, I grew up on this show like milk to a baby. My first toy was a Transformer and I still got it, good ol' optimus PRIME BABY! Now if it follows in a line of what they did with X-men, than maybe it actually wont be so bad....like maybe the transformers are already there on Earth just you know, in secret, and when they're finally revealed the humans hate them and hold anti autobot protests and junk. And Megatron could be trying to take advantage of the situtations of the humans against Autobots. It seems that they pretty much make their sad living of Transfans now. That song was best used in Boogie Nights, btw. Skull 001 Posted July 23, 2004 Share Posted July 23, 2004 I have always hoped for Macross movie because I think it coulad be a fantastic movie if done right. It could be a great trilogy. Now TF just doesn't have a great premis to make a live action movie. This will kill any chance of a Macross movie. Macross was they used the transforming machines in a war there is a love triangle and a great story. Here they are transforming machines that have their own thoughts and are warring against eachother? Now I liked the show but this just can't work.
