Thanks but, Tamiya uses acetone to melt and fuse parts together.

Well, one possibility is to carefully score along the seams. If that's not an option, then I'm out of ideas.

Anyone else got any ideas here?

Ya scoring along the seems maybe. Definitely  dremel with a cutting wheel. Big mess, heavy repair. Depends how bad you wanna change it..
