I also received my Focker GBP today and have a desk covered in Macross7 toys. I was thinking I might do a comparison of the Robo-dou to the the HMR when the standalone HMR Scopedog is released in February. When I do that, I'll probably do the music video version comparing the regular release robo-dou to the heavy weathering version. Quote
Graham Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Never been a fan of the Brutishdog, as I've always felt that that it was pretty silly having that heavy Gatling gun on the arm being fed from that tiny little stick magazine. Yeah, I know it carries spare mags dispensed from the backpack, but given the large calibre of the gun and the small size of the mags, the mag capacity has gotta be miniscule. The Brutishdog is usually the one Scopedog toy or model that I never buy. 😅 Quote

I probably won't get a proper HMR review up until the round mover version comes out. I have a big backlog of other toys to get through first and not a ton of time to work on them. 1 hour ago, jenius said: Sadly... no... True it doesn't make much sense! but maybe since she is a PS she just needed a couple of shoots for the kill! But I think that's why the gatling gun on the RSC is being feed from the backpack! But it still looks cool! It's the colour that I like the most! Edited November 21 by grogall Quote

The Brutishdog is usually the one Scopedog toy or model that I never buy. 😅 Although I think the little clips are weird, I’ve never been sure of how the weapon functions. I don’t think they ever worry out before designing it since it’s a rotating Gatling design, with an extra barrel in the middle for odd reasons. But I do like the side claw thingy. I don’t think old school Japanese animators were the best weapon designers. I love the Gouf from Gundam, but those finger guns are silly. And where’s that thick heat rod rolling up into. And there’s that ammo capacity thing again. It also has an heat sword, but it behaves like a beam saber, so is it solid or energy? And although I love the look of anime beer can missiles due to nostalgia, they’re pretty stupid outside of space use. Anyway, I kinda just forgive the Brutish dog for being designed at the wrong time. So I don’t blame the Brutish dog, it didn’t want to be created that way and always should have had an ammo belt to the backpack and a sight down the middle, but I do blame the designers for not doing the bare minimum of research. 27 minutes ago, grogall said: It's the colour that I like the most! treatment Posted November 21 Posted November 21 (edited) you guys gotta remember... The BrutishDog was purposely designed and intended just for Battling only. Her Gatling arm will just not make sense in any other situations due to its limited ammo and stuff. Also, it's the only AT that Chirico Spoiler never won against. Fyana always beat him with it... 😎 add/edit: On 11/18/2025 at 8:56 PM, grogall said: Also wonder what Fanya figure they will use, on the Hi-Meta R version? A repeat from the ATM-09-ST (SA) or the green uniform version? The HMR Brutishdog Fyana should be in her original pilot-suit... pic courtesy of https://anymoon.com/blog/?p=9922 But Bandai might just go Bandai again and use her green clothing to match their old 1/20 kit. Or even just use Vanilla instead of her just to frakk with us like what they did with their HMR VF2SS "Nexx" pilot... Edited November 21 by treatment Quote

Since they are doing a lot of fabrics in the Gundam series, it would actually be a cool gimmick to ad the cape in this version of the figure! Then you could pose a Scopedog like the end credits from the original series....🤗 Edited November 21 by grogall Quote

grogall Posted November 26 Posted November 26 (edited) New display somewhere, confirms that the Melquiyan Army Unit will come with a regular trooper pilot and the regular Scopedog in February will also come with Chirico blue hair piece! Honestly think they should have given this unit a different number! Edited November 26 by grogall Quote
grogall Posted December 1 Posted December 1 (edited) Yeah, we have another MECH month, with the release of the release of the B-ATM-03 FATTY... Another unit I'm really looking forward too! I wasn't disappointed with the Bloodsucker and I'm sure that this unit has the same class of movement and poss-ability as the other V.O.T.O.M. mechs released so far in the Hi-Metal R series, plus we get a new pilot figure! Also very interested how the box-art looks, another part of the series which is done very well! Hope Bandai releases it very soon so I can enjoy it for Christmas! 🤗 Edited December 2 by grogall Quote
grogall Posted December 3 Posted December 3 (edited) (Tomy) Toyr!se is releasing the Brown Colour AT in the T-Spark series, from the original series in July 2026! It's a colour I also would love, if Bandai releases it in Hi-Metal R version! 🤗 A yummy looking unit almost good enough to want to eat! 🤪 Love the colour and detail for 1/48, sadly I'll stay with Hi-Metal R for now and hope this gets done from Bandai as well! grogall Posted December 11 Posted December 11 (edited) Hobby Japan Web, Has a small article on the Hi-Metal R Scopedog releasing in February, showing everything that is packaged with that unit! comparison of the Red Shoulder Custom tray It was kind of a given that the package would only be halve the size of the units we are used too. Still ordered one to complete the collection! Looks like the gun-tray rests under the main tray and we get another great piece of Tenjin artwork! and got a good price to boot. 🤗 Edited December 19 by grogall Quote
grogall Posted December 18 Posted December 18 (edited) Bandai just released the official information for the Hi-Metal R Scopedog ATM-09-ST Melkia (Melquiya) Forces version & weapons option set to release in June & July. HI-METAL R SCOPEDOG (MELQUIYAN FORCES) Release: June 2026. · ABS, die-cast and PVC action figures · Overall height: approx. 165mm · Set contents: Main body, 3 types of replacement wrists (left and right), GAT-35 Long Gun, ATP-BP1-ST Parachute Backpack, parachute parts, Pilot figure, set (1 type of replacement wrist (left and right), pilot stand, spare antenna. · Price: 24,200 yen (incl. 10% tax); 22,000 yen (excl. tax), shipping and handling not included! · Scheduled to ship in June 2026, Publisher: BANDAI SPIRITS. While preserving the Scope Dog’s exceptional range of motion, this release retains its signature built-in mechanisms, including arm punch functions, gliding wheels, and turn picks, along with numerous gimmicks that allow for realistic landing poses and pilot boarding and disembarking scenes. These elements combine to deliver both dynamic action and mechanical authenticity, now presented in a distinct Melquia military colour scheme and the "GAT-35 Long Gun" can be held with both hands thanks to the movable main and sub-grip. In addition, the movable scope allows for a shooting pose that synchronizes with the head turret lens. The imposing Long Gun is enhanced with clear parts for the scope and muzzle, adding visual depth and realism to the large-scale weapon. In addition, the "ATP-BP1-ST Parachute Rucksack" comes with three magazine parts and two parachute parts, and the parachute storage compartment can be opened. It is also has a folding gimmick, making it possible to use in the landing pose. From "Armored Trooper Votoms," the "Scopedog ATM-09-ST Melkia (Melquiya) Forces" is now available in H-IMETAL R, featuring a body with distinctive colouring and a set of new large weapons, the "GAT-35 Long Gun" and the "ATP-BP1-ST Parachute Pack." Two newly sculpted large weapons, the "GAT-35 Long Gun" and the "ATP-BP1-ST Parachute Pack," are included. The GAT-35 Long Gun, a large energy weapon, not only has movable main and sub-grips that allow it to be held in both hands, but the scope itself is also movable, allowing it to assume a firing stance that synchronizes with the head turret lens. The ATP-BP1-ST Parachute Pack features three detachable magazine parts, and the parachute storage compartment can be opened or closed. Parachute parts that can be attached to the side skirts are also included. It maintains the excellent range of motion of the Scopedog itself, with multiple extension mechanisms in the arms and multi-axis joints in the legs and neck, allowing for dynamic action even when equipped with the GAT-35 Long Gun and ATP-BP1-ST Parachute Pack. The Parachute Pack's midsection has a hinge, allowing for landing poses with the kit attached. These weapons can also be equipped to the "HI-METAL R Scopedog" (sold separately).
