1/72 scale VF-17D Nightmare. Soft vinyl/plastic kit from Wave. Primed by Mr. Surfacer, painted by Mr Color, so that shoots the myth I heard many years ago that you can only use acrylic to paint vinyl kits to hell and gone. This came as either an S or a D. I choose D, because I think the head on the S looks just too damn goofy.

Also, if anyone doesn't catch the reference to my thread title, damn I'm getting old!

I have this kit 4 times :) it is my second favorite Valk next to the VF1.

The S head is a little odd, you need to squint to see it right :p

Dam fine job you did too.

Very nice indeed. And I totally agree with you about the heads.

My VF-17 is in the box also. Also have the VF-19S that is still sealed in plastic.

I looked at them today and wished they would be re-released. Would like to get a couple of VF-17s for VF-171 conversion and pick up a VF-19 Kia.

Actually, I didn't think it was all that bad. I was working on Bandai's VF-25F before this, but I got so angry at how crappy that kit was I boxed it back up and threw on the shelf in disgust. This kit was pretty refreshing, to be frustrated for a real reason! I only broke my cutter knife once, too.
