Cabbit Commando Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 This is probably old news & I will get yawns from this, but did you know that alot of the Zentradi Signs written down in the film are actually English once the letters are translated from Zentradi to english! The Mecha are not considered signs because the only have unit letters. Cool huh!?
Dante74 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 (edited) Let me get this right. Zentraedi is English once it's translated to English? Edited April 12, 2006 by Dante74
Rocket Punch Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Let me get this right.Zentraedi is English once it's translated to English? 390312 It's a mathematical fluke of astronmical proportions.
Macross73 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 So if its in English and you have to translate into English to understand it then shouldnt I understand it before I translate back into English to understand it?

Rocket Punch Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 So if its in English and you have to translate into English to understand it then shouldnt I understand it before I translate back into English to understand it? 390321 LOL I think what Cabbit means is that once you romanize Zentraedi letters the word being romanized is actually English.
Sdf-1 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I just recently found this. You can also download Zentraedi fonts there. http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~ranko-a/zent/info/moji_e.html
Rocket Punch Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Do not romanize if you are easily offended. Kewl. Imma use this for cursing from now on.
Sdf-1 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I remember seeing that writing on some of the Zentraedi ships.
Rocket Punch Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I remember seeing that writing on some of the Zentraedi ships. 390488 Make sense. They do resemble huge space-faring dildos.
reddsun1 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Well, what else should we expect? Something not profane? They are [space] sailors, after all...
Hiriyu Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 It needs a pronunciation key, so I can speak it too. 390540 You're going to need some reverb too if you want to become fluent. Better work on that.
Sdf-1 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Actually it's more like a delay with pitchshifter. What were they thinking. I like it though.
Rocket Punch Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 According to the website the pronunciation of the Zentraedi alphabet is very similar to ours. Unless your speaking about the DYRL Zentraedi who obviously have a completely different language.
Sdf-1 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Yes, that's what the Zentraedi do on their spare time.
Cabbit Commando Posted April 13, 2006 Author Posted April 13, 2006 Ah the power of Culture, We take your alphabet & write dirty messages. To be really cool (Nerdy?) take the alphabet & right using some of the zentran words from the Compendium! BTW it was the Pine Apple Salad episode that you could see the name on the side of the Ship that Millia was in. In the Ship that the 3 spies were in watching the miss macross show, the sign beside the escape pod can be translated (it says escape pod, duh) at least in my perfect memory that is what it shows
