chrono
Well maybe not yet! But I am working on it. This is a recent, & successful, test animation in smoke trails for jets/missiles/etc. It's not a 'finished' piece by far. That's for later when I throw in other dynamics. Here's the link. http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/showpos...68&postcount=
Mr March
Won't allow me to view the file, says I need to register and I won't be doing that.
Mechamaniac
Yeah, having to register on a site I never intend to surf is teh suck.
JB0
Ditto. I would like to take this moment to point out that our very own MacrossWorld has a similar nifty image attachment feature. Even better, because you don't have to be a member of another board to view the attachment.
chrono
My bad. I saw this used in another forum and you didn't have to be registered to view it. I'll fix this when I get home(at work right now). smoketrail3video.zip Edited December 24, 2005 by chrono

Fortress_Maximus
And when I tried the smoketrail file I got this: Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline. The video is Divx 5.1 & this is really sounding like a server problem. I had trouble just getting the forum to load these.
JB0
Works here. Nifty little clip.

chrono
And this is the final test. I tweaked every setting including the animation path(which oddly has control over how well this setup works and something I now know how to circumvent in future animations). I also adding bump-mapping for extra depth(via noise) and found that adding that gives the trail a kinda of shadowing(the can cast shadows but the trail doesn't make them or recieve them) that doesn't make much(if any) hit on rendertimes. Oh forgive the jumps the camera when ape again(something that's impossible to fix). smoketrailFINedited.zip I think my next animation test will be either explosion clouds or impacts, don't know.
