Fourth Season of 24.

Chloe F'ing Rules!

I've said it since Season 2... she's really the most entertaining thing about the show. Certainly the most realistic, as everyone has that one really annoying person in their office. Her behavior is so much more believable than the soap opera antics of the main cast.

I want the next episode to start with her nudging the corpse with her boot and saying (obnoxiously, of course) - "are you like, dead, or what?"

Why do all CTU agents that escorts every major character in the show seem to die so easily by one assailant?

CTU Escorts = Star Trek Redshirts

Seriously, if you have an earpiece, a suit, a blandly american last name, and a real character tells you to watch the door... you are SO dead.

Did anyone else notice a number of similarities between the death of Paul Raines and the death of Terri Bauer? I'm sure it's just coincidence, but there are a lot of correlations. Jack and Terri had been separated, Jack had been seeing someone else (Nina), then they got back together. Audrey and Paul had been separated, Audrey was seeing someone else (Jack), then Audrey and Paul were getting back together. After getting caught up in terrorist business that should have had nothing to do with either of them, Terri and Paul were both brought to CTU, where they were supposedly safe. Then the situation suddenly changed, for Terri because she realized Nina was one of them and for Paul because the doctors at CTU are apparently incompetent. So then Nina, the girl Jack was seeing, grapples with what to do and ultimately kills Terri, and Jack, the guy Audrey was seeing, tries to help but ends up signing Paul's death sentence.

Of course, the most notable dissimilarity is that Nina iced Terri on purpose and Jack was obviously not happy about having to deny Paul medical treatment; and also, that Nina went and shot Terri herself, but Jack only indirectly killed Paul by making the doctors treat the other guy instead. But I just thought the circumstances of the whole situation were incredibly similar. When you see Jack reaching out to Audrey in the preview for next week, I imagined him trying to talk to her by saying something like "I understand what you're going through," just with having gone through Terri's death...and then I realized he understands a lot better than just that.

Like I said, certainly it's just a big coincidence, but I still thought it was kind of notable.

Nice episode on this one, although I have to say the Chinese consular was an IDIOT.

Who would run into the line of fire like that, that was just plain stupid. Other than that, it was nice knowing you Paul... heh heh, Audrey, gosh, talk about an example of the evil of nepotism.

I meant to mention this a week or two ago, but since when is there "mountains" in Iowa?!?! :p

Also, is the nuke still in Iowa? They're making it sound like a super powerful weapon, but based on it's size and since they are trying to fire it with a tactical battlefield size rocket, my guess is something like that would only be a few 100 kilotons at best (not to downplay that it would suck for whoever it hit!). Also, since that rocket would probably have a range of somewhere under a 100 miles, does anyone want to guess who the target is? If they are still on the west side of Iowa, they would be aiming towards Omaha or Kansas City.

Did they say "only 3 episodes left" at the end? I thought there were supposed to be 4 more episodes to go...

The Season Finale will be two hours.

intense ep. love the splinter cell action. course this will mean the chinese community will start boycotting fox  <_<

Why's that? For each freelancing, terrorist-aiding Chinese, they got one working for the CTU as an interpreter. :p

I was surprised at Palmer's pussiness when dealing with the Chinese diplomats. "Gee I dunno man, 2 hours? I did tell you they're gonna nuke us any time within 2 hours right? Okie dokie, just go take your coffee break and get back to me when you feel like it. What the hell man, we still got the west coast after the east coast is annihilated."

it was a tongue-in-cheek reference to the uproar that some muslim groups in the states exhibited near the start of the show.

what else could he do? he had to be as diplomatic as possible. he did order jack to go in so i don't see how that could be considered being weak.

Why didn't they have Chinese agents... that would have been cool if they ripped of that mask and saw another Chinese face.

The Spliner cell action was cool. I coulda watch 30minutes of that. I could almost see the Metal Gear style exclamation points on those guards when they found out Jack was there.

Agreed, Disco. Again, I have to say that Chloe is easily becoming the most entertaining part of the show.

My other favorite line was when CTU Director Whatshisname was all like, "Chloe, we don't have time for your personality disorder right now."

I am getting a bit worn out on the office romance "portions" of 24, though. It was bad enough with Jack and his increasingly more whiny and annoying woman... now I got sit through Tony laying the mack down on Michelle while nukes are loose in the US?

"Baby... you know I miss you, girl. Now, let's cross-reference that CIA watchlist... but later... we gettin' all freaky. You feelin' it?"

Man I knocked out cold after 24... the best part was when Buchanan told Chloe that they don't need her personality disorder and Chloe couldn't argue it. Also, Tony and Michelle gettting back together made me fizzly inside... but the tums took care of that...

In case you missed it:

The following takes place between 3AM and 4AM...

3:04 AM: Jack: Audrey... I'm sorry...

Audrey: You killed Paul.

Jack: Yeah I'm sorry it wasn't you instead.

3:24: President: David, what the hell is going on around here? We attacked the Chinese?

Palmer: Listen you! You brought me here to do your laundry and so far all I've seen is the sh!t in your pants!

3:30 AM: Tony: Michelle I hate being without you!

Michelle: I didn't want any of this.

Tony: You want to get back together?

Michelle: No, I ordered a BLT and they sent a Spamwich... it's gross...

3:34 AM: Xiang: We have a picture of Howard Burns.

Jack: Dude, that could be anybody... everytime there's a white guy on a print out it's "hey look its Howard Burns!" Get over it!

3:44 AM: Jack: You're still alive, you're father still alive and we prevented most of the Nuclear plants from melting down. I'd say what we are doing is working...

Audrey: I know I know... STFU Audrey...

President: You and Palmer are plotting against me!

Novic: Would you like me to ask Persident Palmer to leave...

President: Dammit Mike you made me crap in my pants!

3:55 AM: Marwan: I am going to destroy the U.S. with my Alienware laptop!

3:57 AM: Jack: I've been waiting for this...

Marwan: You can kill me but you can't stop the missile.

Jack: What missile?

Marwan: Doh! I didn't say missile. I said Mizzle... you know... Mizzle to the jizzle... HEY! HO!!! HEY!!! HO!!!

The plots are flipping a little too quickly in this season. They need to have slowed things down, the consulate infiltration thing should've started about three hours earlier. The situation seem very rushed, now, I know it's supposed to simulate real life, but they're doing too good a job here.

that was a dope episode. Dood!! Tony and Michelle are gonna get back together!!! :p:D:lol: Looks like they didn't stop the missle on time eh? Maybe jack will fly in a F-14 or something and shoot it down. :p:D:lol:

Heard about it, there was a link somewhere, but Fox will be crazy to let 24 go.

On the other hand, there is supposed to be a good chance that Tony/Michelle won't last very long due to external circumstances. So, they better grab a closet now before its too late.

There were far too many implausibilities in this episode:

Logan continues to be an idealogical dick. Even the most spoiled child did not live a life as sheltered as his. <_<

A mere "head of security" at the Chinese Consulate is allowed access to CTU during a time of national crisis - gimme a break! Whatever happened to "I'll have to go through the channels to get the OK in a couple of hours"?!

Marwan would be so stupid to let a mere freelancing nuke geek know which 3 locations he's using on that particular day, when he's been super paranoid all day long and even making his men kill their own family to ensure everything go as planned.

Chloe hitting on Jack

Edgar violating protocol by talking to the head of security from the Chinese consulate.

Jack violating protocol by mentioning the terrorist by name within earshot of a third party (head of security from the Chinese consulate).

By the way, the people at the Chinese consulate spoke horrible Chinese. Nobody talks like that except those learning it as their 2nd language or reading off a poorly translated script. CTU's interpreter spoke better Chinese than any of them.

Everyone has weaknesses somewhere. May be Marwan just figured that the Chinese guy would be the most trustworthy of the bunch.

Ha ha, he doesn't know us Chinese people very well, we'd be more than happy to sell him out for room and board at the White House.

Like I said before though, this whole season was going a little too fast. I mean the best thing about season one is how it was on slow burn for a long time. This season, it seem like every episode had a body count attached. I hope they go a little slower for season five. I like the chess match that was in season one a little more than the fast pace action of season two. Now, if they only stay with Marwan as the main bad guy.... then all will be well.

By the way, anyone else looking forward to Heller's son getting tasered, needeled and generally being loved to death by Richards next week?

Granted I speak Cantonese (DONT HIT ME :o ) vs Mandarin. But even I know you dont answer the phone with Ni-How as the first words outa your mouth.

The Head of Security for the Embassey WAS the Chinese Counsoul in Rush Hour =)

Wow!

I don't know HOW they're gonna clear up all these loose ends in two hours. I thought tonights episode was pretty darn good, full of suspense and a return of some familiar (and very HOT) faces.

I tell ya.....Naked Mandy is a force to be reckoned with. Personally, I thought she was already taken care of when they arrested the folks behind the Palmer assassination (in Season Three). But I guess she was able to sleep away to live another day.

I also wonder what Mike and President Palmer have in store for that MOUTHY Speaker Of The House.

Did they REALLY need to work in that GAY angle? Jeez, IMHO I thought it was totally unnecessary.

It's also nice to see the romance trying to be saved between the 24 couples.

But. NEXT WEEK IS THE 2 HOUR SERIES FINALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What will happen to Tony?

Will Naked Mandy get naked?

What about ol' slippery Habib Marwan?

Will Jack Bauer and Audrey remain together?

What of President Keeler?

Tune in NEXT week Macrossworlders.

overrated? Naked Mandy is prolly the most evil character in 24. And Jack still hasn't met her.

When I saw her last night I was like "She's baaaaaaaack!" and knew off the bat something was gonna happen to Tony cuz of her. you can't just make up with your estranged wife on those shows and not get screwed in the end.... I bet she gets away too.

If Mandy could cook, I'd marry her....

of course, after I take the precaution of putting a bomb permenantly on her that is directly tied to my own vital signs. i.e. if I expire, so does she.

This episode was actually quite nicely done. Still feel very rushed, but I can see how some time real world events can turn that way. I'm surprised Jack hasn't cracked yet, because it's a lot for one guy to handle in a 24 hour period no matter what support mechanism he has.

On the other hand, I'm of the opinion that Marwan need to survive, and that this day need to be extended into the next day (for next season). Something that I was really hoping for in season two.

Finally... if given a choice, would you take Marwan's rent a terrorist as back up or the CTU red shirts/field officers? At this point, I'm leaning toward the former given that the latter seem to be utterly ineffective.

Ah, the Chinese crisis seems so far away now... like a week already. ;)

Of course, I doubt anyone cares what happened to Behrooz by now.

It does look like Tony's gonna be dead meat since they actually gave him quality time to make up with Michelle. Buchanan's gonna be a happy man next week.
