What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0

... please enlighten me about the skeleton... I know a giant wing is seen briefly in the dead man's flashback episode where a whole platoon of takemikazuchi's are pounding on it rather hopelessly. -
Don't care much for RX-79[G] ... but RX-79 EZ8 on the other hand .

Oh well, there will be SG:U to occupy and keep the slot warm till then. I get the feeling it was designed for just that... -
I'm near the end of Chapter 9... meh, lost motivation to continue - perhaps I'll give it another whirl later today. Meanwhile - here is the full-length FFXIII theme song if anyone is interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8qtteb9FBY . The song is ok, not spectacular, but Leona Lewis has a good voice .

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0

I finished watching Sora no Woto as well. I'm glad that after 11 episodes of pseudo-slice-of-life drama we get treated to 1 epic mecha episode. I'm kind of upset they didn't really explain the whole thing about the angels and how the world was bombed back to a pre-industrial state, but overall I liked the show. Like Bri pointed out, the end is very Macross-ish, a trend I'm noticing more and more. [The Power of Song©], [Listen to My Song©] are becoming greater factors in animu-military strategy. -
What I liked most about those Ekanoplane photos that Jeleinen posted is the juxtaposition of the plane along with the environment it's being held on. Both convey a feeling of post-apocalyptic decay and nostalgia - seemingly ripped straight out of the Half Life 2 or STALKER game. You would think that such an incredibly machine would be a big tourism draw, yet the photographs depict a landscape almost devoid of human life - and that a zombie will pop out of the plane at any moment. (I'm sure it gets a lot of visitors, it's just the way the photos were taken that I'm commenting on:p ).

Trademarks last indefinitely and can be renewed from now to infinity. Copyrights last for "too long" or the death of the original author, whichever comes first. None of the two I think apply quite accurately to RT's gray zone >_> .

I wonder if the bomber crew and the interceptor pilots give each other a thumbs up through the glass ... Hurray for employment! Same time next week?

Makes perfect sense, should have been the first place I looked .

Jacob was attempting The Force Unleashed star destroyer pull-down scene, but with the bugged version of the game.

That sort of begs the question: why would a canopy be foggy? And is the source of the fog internal/external? -
Perhaps I've thought too much into this... but when did we start referring to Smokey as the Man in Black? I could be wrong, but this seems to be a fairly novel term that really started this season. To me, the MIB term immediately conjures up the other MIB with pseudo-immortality (no, not the movie) from Stephen King's the dark tower. I think it's no coincidence that the recent usage of this term might somehow be related to the Dark Tower movie - which coincidentally is being worked on by, yep.. you guessed it: JJ Abrams, and Damon Lendelof. Not suggesting any form of crossover, but perhaps some clever viral tie-ins are on the horizon.

Yea... I was wondering about how a ship sailing to the new world from the Canary Islands ends up lost in the pacific. As for Jacob vs. Smokey, I think they are both different kinds of evil (or good) and have both proven to be very persuasive in manipulating people to accomplish their goals. Their individual powers might also provide some clues about their intentions. Jacob can extend life, whereas Smokey can imitate life... not sure where I'm going with this

Science and Technology MEGA THREAD
Ghost Train replied to Max Jenius's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
LOL that would be kind of funny. It could be tactically useful to draw fire though . The article was a bit vague, but I think it has more to do with deforming the projectile with electricity rather than make it bounce off. Far from a force-field like defensive device. In my opinion, the "Trophy" anti-projectile system developed for the Israeli army is probably more implementable with today's technologies. It's just tit for tat really, with sufficient kinetic energy, any armor can be defeated.... enter the railgun. -
Hmmm... I can totally see that working out . The Man in Black is basically Kadum , and he must not leave the island or he will transform into a giant biological mech that threatens to consume the planet with its black smoke tentacles. All we need is some sort of Power of Song factor, and I think Hugo Reyes would be perfect to fill the Minmei role. On a more serious note, what has really interested me about the season is the alternate reality created when Juliet set off the bomb. It was nice seeing Linus in a different light as some nameless HS teacher. I'm still waiting to see what happens after Sayid met Jin in the alternate timeline after he iced the "merc" (I can't remember his name, only that in the other timeline he was one of the mercs sent to the island). Not sure how they will reconcile the two timelines at the end, but will patiently wait and watch.

Last night's episode... pretty much answered everything, or that's as much of a satisfactory answer we're going to get. Been following series since the beginning, can't wait to the end!

gods I hate recursive functions..... -
We are all missing the point here. There are like a gazillion Ranka Lee figures - she is like the hero red/black lined valkyrie of the Vajra. Why make the cannon-fodder Vajra, when you have their queen.

It does. Every day low prices = win. Also reminds me of other things like my alma mater's colors (maize & blue), and the Swedish flag.

Oh well, we have until 2063 to break warp 1.0.

I think that in Gundam, Mobile Suits were just tools, both the good guys and bad guys have used them... sometimes interchangeably - hence they aren't really enemy mecha. The Zaku re-emerges as a Earth militia mech in Turn-A. The GM in 0079 was a "good side" mech, but the Titans made a variety of "evil" GM's like the Quel. Or the Rick Dias, which claims lineage from the Zeon Rick Dom but was an AEUG MS. That's why I think marketing Gundam enemy MS was probably easier. In Macross, Vajra is a confused semi-evil insect.
