It was certainly rushed, and it felt like it throughout the entire episode. Simply far too much was being squeezed into a single episode. The CG in this episode is a lot worse than any of the others, especially the Bird Human. Other than that, though, I rather liked it. I've certainly seen far worse endings.

However, Robotech II: The Sentinels has been stricken from canon by those currently running the franchise. It doesn't fit in anywhere anymore.

Why?

1) Nobody knows. Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay road off into the sunset. 2) I'm not certain if the whereabouts are correct, though many say it dissapeared near the center of the galaxy. 3) Max and Millia are not divorced, but are seperated for most of M7. The specifics of why are never brought to light. If you want to know more, I reccomend watching the series.

I still like the rocket nozzles. Then again, I'm a big fan of steampunk and retrotech. I also must admit to liking transforming planes, and refitted WWII battleships in space.

I like the cones.

I hope those are simply quick roughs with colours thrown over them. They look suspiciously like bad CG models rendered with poor cel shading, the kind of CG you might be dissapointed to see in a videogame, let alone a tv series. I'm not trying to join the anti-HG bandwagon here, I'd like this show not to suck, just making an observation.

Official Transformers Alternators and more thread.

I think the arm popped off of my white Alt Meister once, back when I first got it, and has not done so since, despite the fact that Meister is the Alternator I most often take off the shelf to play with. I think the white of the doors is a little off from the white of the rest of him. Reminds me of the original Jazz toy, where the plastic white doors looked off compared to the metal white body. As for Ravage and Grimlock, well, Grimlock looks sweet as all get out, but I can understand why people would be upset at him no longer being a Dinobot. Ravage on the other hand, he looks pretty lame. If I do pick him up, it will be simply to complete the set, but if there's any Alternators I'm likely not to get, Ravage is it. -
The show has actually been licensed by Geneon, so you'll have to hit up places like Box Torrents or SuprNova.org to find the fansubs. Or just wait for the DVDs.

Colour me unimpressed. Of course, I've always hated the futuristic (aka: cheap, tacky, plastic kids' toy idea of futuristic) Transformers. If they're going to do futuristic, I at least like some attempt at basing it in reality, like our beloved Macross mecha. I'm also a fan of classier robot modes. Gaudy colours, every gun bigger than the last, covered in artillary mecha strike me as something a 14 year old come up with for their uber invincible Gundam Wing self insertion crossover fanfiction. This new Prime has nothing on the classic Prime so well executed in the 20th Anniversary toy. -

The Sunstreaker custom looks alright, they made the wings on the sides of his head way to large, though. Also, Sunstreaker was the more tricked out Lamborghini, so you'd think that would carry over to the Alternators, another reason why Dead End's design just screams Sunstreaker. I suppose the ideal custom would take parts from both toys. Scavenge the windshield and headlights off of a Sideswipe, and the rest from Dead End. A custom head would be needed because Dead End's face really does look grim as it was pointed out. Still, all that needs to be changed is the face. -
The DVDs cut the end of each and every RedvsBlue episode off. You know how every episode has a little clip after the credits? Yeah, those are not on the DVDs. Try and find the pre-DVD versions.

Alternator's Meister has been out for weeks now. Mine is sitting on my shelf right next to 20th Anniversary Prime and Silverstreek. -
There's just far too many for me to even begin to think of a list. I was really picky about cartoons when I was a kid, I hated almost everything except Transformers and Robotech for much of my childhood years, and as I got older and more demanding of both animation quality and writing both of those shows lost their previous luster. 90% of everything is crap, and what I don't like I tend not to watch it long enough to remember it as being particularly bad, though Gundam Wing really does stick out, as I was constantly exposed to it through my college years. It's exceptional popularity, despite writing worse than just about anything else available at the time, cookie cutter characters that seemed to lose depth as the show "progressed", and horribly cliche...well...everything, made it an object of intense dislike for me. I mean, come on, this show made DBZ look like it had been penned by Shakespear. It was not a matter of bad Americanization, either. The original Japanese show was simply wretched.

If we mean robots combining to form a larger robot, then definitely Devastator. They really played him up well in the movie especially. If we're talking about just vehicles or whatnot combinging to form a robot, then there is one, and only one choice I can make. The King of Braves, Gao Gai Gar.

While my first reaction would be to vote for DYRL?, I tend to break out my Macross 7 DVDs far more often, with Dynamite 7 being my favourite part of that.

Keith might know more, the thing I heard was that the company really does want to release the unedited Japanese series, but they're having trouble acquiring the rights to it for some reason. Also of note, while you could include both the Japanese and Americanized versions, if there is any edited footage, you'd basically have to have two of each episode on every DVD, instead of just different language tracks. This would either push down the number of episodes per DVD, or cut the quality.

What's with the shoulder gun on BT Meister? Your own inclusion, or something that comes with the BT Meister and not the Alternator's Meister? -
They're apparently still trying to get a copy of the uncut, unedited Yamato tv series out to DVD. Also, once you get into Yamato, that's just the tip of the Matsumoto universe. You've also got Captain Herlock, Galaxy Express 999, Cosmos Warrior Zero, Galaxy Railways, and others to look forward to.

while I thought Jar Jar was severly overused in Episode I, I absolutely loved how he handed Palpatine the Galaxy on a silver platter in Episode II.

I think he meant the idea that the entire mideast is off to destroy the western world, or that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11 (wich they didn't), or maybe that Iraq somehow posed a threat to the United States seeing as how the topic was Iraq.

There's nothing wrong with console loyalty, if you don't buy consoles for the games. Most people that buy consoles do it so they can be cool, just like everyone else on their block. Unfortunately, this does hurt the videogame industry for those that actually do like videogames and want the best videogames the industry has to offer. Look at the PS2, everyone bit into the hype, even when it was revealed that Sony was lying about the abilities of the PS2, people still hailed it as the best of the next gen consoles. Sega saw that everyone was going to drop their Dreamcast like a bad habit, and they rolled over and died. PS2 hits the stores, no games really worth mentioning until about a year or TWO after it launches. It's still the most popular console, not because it has the best games or the best technology, but is considered the coolest console. PSX at least had better 3D hardware than the Saturn, and more texture mapping space, RAM, and 3rd party support than the N64, so even though it didn't have all the best games, even though some of it's games were better on the other systems. Even though most of the 2D games of that generation were better than the 3D games and the PSX couldn't do 2D for crap, you can still point at it and explain the merits it did have that brought it to the top. PS2 just rides the wave of brand loyalty.

This comes up fairly often, and you can bet pretty much all of us are thinking it every waking moment. However, it's been stated that the Binaltech/Alternators line will consist of cars, and cars only. This does not rule out a related line or series of related lines featuring jets, war machines, trucks, boats, you name it, but in different scales so that the size of the toys doesn't start to exceed the size of our wallets. A jet in the BT/Alt's scale would be a good bit larger than a 1/48th Yamato Valkyrie, you can imagine the price tag. I'd be happy with a line of jets and/or tanks and other war machines that were a bit larger than the Alternators, but in scale with each other in this imaginary line of jets. -

Personally, I vote for a TROOPS Star Wars series..... Or a Tag and Bink tv series! Either way Kevin Rubio would definitely have to be writing.
