  1. Metroid Pinball - Excellent pinball game. Metroid Prime Hunters - A decent FPS deathmatch game, a LAN party wherever you go. Phoenix Wright - Quirk adventure game that puts you in the role of an up and coming attourney. Excellent characters, great writing, fun all around. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - The best Castlevania game since Symphony of the Night. Advance Wars: Dual Strike - Excellent turn based strategy game, very addictive. This third game in the Advance series has just about everything from the first two games and more. Tetris DS - It's Tetris, with some excellent multiplayer modes. Animal Crossing: Wild World - Nifty little game, tough to describe unless you're already familier with Animal Crossing. Oddly addicting. Sonic Rush - Oldschool 2D Sonic fun.
  2. You know, I've said it before but this really is a golden age of portable gaming. Right here, right now. I haven't had this much fun with even a home gaming system since the NES and SNES/Genesis days.
  3. I don't recall any rumours of a shower scene, but they did jokingly record the audio of Minmei getting sucked out an airlock. At least, I assume it was a joke.
  4. Those are painted, actually.
  5. I've been waiting for this to be released for ages!
  6. If that's a real poster, Universal must be hurting for graphic designers. Just a rule of thumb, if something has really obviously Photoshopped lense flares in it, it's a fan job.
  7. 'Arcadia of My Youth' is definitely one of my two favourite anime films, the Herlock franchise being among my favourite anime. I wouldn't say that all of Matsumoto's newer stuff is not up to snuff against his older works, did you see "Endless Odyssey?", next to Arcadia it's my favourite Herlock story to date, and it's close by a really slim margin at that. Fantastically animated, and directed by Rin Taro, it's simply wonderful. Cosmos Warrior Zero, and Gun Frontier are simply campier, cheesier stories. They're fun in their own way, and while they retain a lot of the familier themes and characters, they are not supposed to be the same as Arcadia or Yamato. Meanwhile, there's also Galaxy Railways. I haven't finished it yet, but it's wonderful so far. The animation isn't up to 'Endless Odyssey', but not as low end as Zero. The story is definitely not pulling punches, with tragedy after tragedy occuring. Helgensagen Vom Kosmenief is another fantastic anime, and further proof that there is some great anime past the 80's. I need to catch up with the fansubs, now that it's been coming out regularly for quite some time. The fact that it shows that people are people, no matter what side they fall on really appeals to me. There's simply so many characters to enjoy. Yeah, that's one sentiment I don't agree with. There's nothing that says women can't enjoy Matsumoto's works. And, hey, if someone doesn't like Herlock et all, I might question a person's taste but not their worth as an individual.
  8. You know, though I'm not a big fan of the design, I prefere it in fighter mode to battroid. At least there it's its own beast, whereas the battroid really does look like a knock-off VF-1. The SAP packs mess up the lines of the fighter mode, and yet don't really add the menace or the utilitarian look of the original FAST packs. I do agree that the VF-2SS looks much better than the Metal Siren, though.
  9. I don't think anyone is suggesting that Starscream will be 1/24 scale.
  10. I don't think anyone is suggesting that Starscream will be 1/24 scale.
  11. Heh, some people on this board think a 1/48 VF-0 would be too big. They'd have a heart attack at the idea of a 1/24 scale jet.
  12. To quote the internet, "The pleasure is unexampled."
  13. I still run into people who complain, quite seriously, that they hate letterbox versions of movies because "they cut off the top and bottom of the picture!"
  14. The important question, is when will Lucasfilm hire Kevin to do an animated Tag & Bink television series or movie? Or Tag and Bink appearing on an episode of the ongoing TROOPS tv series?
  15. That would be Mother Nature, or God, or any number of religious creation figures depending on what you, personally, believe. Try to find the very edges of your vision. That's right, people naturally see in "widescreen", much wider than most widescreen movies even. It's more natural to the human eye to view action this way, which is why most movies are filmed this way. What, exactly, do you dislike about widescreen?
  16. As far as I know, the VA-14 has never been seen. There is no official linework of it. What is commonly called the VA-14 lineart is actually an early version of the VF-14 that was used in Macross 7, only to be redesigned by Kawamori later to appear in M3. At least, that's my understanding of the issue.
  17. The sets are coming down, sure, but they're still expensive. Also, it's not logical to look at it as, "Well, if they're willing to buy a PS3, then they'd be willing to spend more than twice as much for a PS3 plus an HDTV to go with it." But hey, maybe I'm wrong. It's entirely possible that, for whatever reason, by the PS3 launch everyone will have an HDTV.
  18. We'll see. I just doubt most people will have HDTV until the end of this new console generation. Sure, the people that do have HDTV will want to take advantage of it, but for the price and unique gameplay aspects it might still be worth it to some of them to get a Revolution. Marketing-wise, I do think it might hurt Nintendo. I remember having tons of friends with the Sega Genesis as a kid. One of their big arguments that the Genesis was better than the SNES was the Sega CD. Only one of them had a Sega CD and never got more than Sewer Shark for it. I imagine even the majority of gamers without an HDTV set will tout the PS3 and 360's HDTV resolution support as a point of superiority.
  19. That's the word on the street. Part of Nintendo's effort to keep the price down. Personally, I think it's a smart move. Nintendo is aiming at a $150-$250 price tag, most people don't own an HDTV yet and aren't likely to for another few years, and the Revolution is rumoured not to be nearly as graphics intensive as its competition, relying instead on the new controller to introduce a new style of gameplay.
  20. So difficult to get out to a comic store, they're usually opening as I'm going to sleep, and long closed when I'm rolling out of bed to shower before work. Still, getting my hands on this is one of the things I'm really looking forward to. It's frustrating that so many of my favourite things are commercial flops. I hope this new book does better than previous Tag&Bink books in that regard.
  21. I really don't care whether it transformers or not, it all boils down to whether the mech is stupid or cool. There's plenty of awesome, and plenty of terrible mecha in both categories. Someone already mentioned the classic giant robot and super robot designs, like Tetsujin 28, Giant Robo, Mazinger Z, etcetera. All awesome. Don't transform. Then you have the Transformers. Some great designs, some terrible designs, really the transforming aspect doesn't really help if the basic idea is just plain bad.
  22. Not to mention the already noted leap in stealth technology between the F-117 and the B2 bomber.
  23. Is this sarcasm? Just so hard to tell online.
  24. Hoik! This thread is just full of good news! I can't wait to see unedited Tekkaman Blade!
  25. Well, there is the little bit about completely dropping the Protoculture and the Supervision Army, and replacing them in the story with the Marduk as the force behind the Zentradi.
