Saint Seiya...? Maybe...?
-
Right...I forgot about them...
-
They're books... http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/series_dreamy.htm and http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/series_white.htm If you have them, I'll be grateful (hell, I'll even dedicate the translation to you!).

:o ...I'm not even gonna touch that... (But yes, that's the dub they're talking about.) (And it really isn't so confusing...there are two versions: Animeigo (subbed only) and ADV (sub+dub). Any questions...?)
-
That makes some sense...The Regults looked to be about about the same size as the VFs, and I always thought that the animators were always just forgetting that there was something as large as a VF inside them. I'm glad to know it wasn't just a continual error. (By the way, JB0, keep posting...the talk about MW titles in the feedback thread has me wondering what comes after "Basara's College Roommate," and I think you're almost there...)

...or in 7, except for Exsedol (and Emilia, but she wasn't with the fleet).

I tried to work that out about a year as a writing exercise. I couldn't really make it work as three movies, but four would okay. I don't think adapting the novels would work as well as the series, though...since for giant robots to really be impressive, they should have stuff around them to give a true sense of scale...having them fight in space works in anime, but I don't think it would in live action. of course, all of it is futile...if Hollywood tackles any Gundam, it would be Wing, since that was the most popular in the U.S.
-
Hmmm...all I remember about that was the confusing theme song (What? You mean metal isn't real? What is it then?) and people falling...in space... Something tells me that I don't want to remember more...

Dude, you should TOTALLY work in Hollywood. I say they should start a Kroft Superstars Franchise...start with the big budget Chirstmas movie version of H.R. Puffnstuff, then move on to Land of the Lost, Lidsville, the Bugaloos, Sigmund the Sea Monster...then they could all have a big crossover when they end up on the Lost Saucer, which lands on the planet that the Far-Out Space Nuts were on, and they have to fight Dr. Shrinker! (I would've added in the one with dune buggy, but I forgot the name...was it just Super Bug...?)

Macross Frontier Episode 7 Talkback Thread *READ 1st Post*

Well, it IS pretty close-knit, but there are at least 300 members who have never made a post, so we surely don't know EVERYONE. We know who one of the negative votes was from, but all he said was, "Worst Macross F episode ever," with no further explanation. Now I don't think this should be a witch hunt, but I certainly am curious about what people disliked about this one...I mean, BESIDES Ranka being a shemale with a glowing tummy, and the Macross Quarter moving like a thirteen-year-old gymnast... -

The above reasons really are the only things I can think of as for why someone wouldn't like this one. Unless they're die-hard Luca fanboys who don't want to see him do anything stupid. Ever. -
Forsooth, Bro.

Nay, nay, a thousand times nay! It simply CANNOT be Macross City, and it MUST be very far away! Otherwise, Macross City is so magical that part of it is in darkness while the other part is enjoying the afternoon sun!
-
...And if it hadn't been empty, I'm sorry, but no amount of pleading on Millard's part could've saved Isamu's ass. If those buildings had people in them, then he and Guld caused hundreds if not thousands of deaths. And the city was far enough away from the Macross itself that it was night in Macross City but only late afternoon (apparently) in the city where they dueled, so he couldn't really say, "Sorry, but I was fighting Sharon. Civilian casulaites were unavoidable."
-
Dude, what about Blackstar? Mighty Orbots? Or, best of all, TURBO TEEN! Feh. Hollywood making live action versions of twenty-year-old cartoons that weren't very good in the first place...wasn't there a bit about that in the Book of Revelations? Or am I thinking of the lowest circle of Dante's inferno?
-
Okay, that, I can believe. (Still doesn't explain why no one was out on the street in the city Guld and Isamu trashed, though...surely SOMEONE must have been on his way to the market because they ran out dip or something...)

Rather unsure about that theory, but it seems plausible. I'd venture that you might have to sing "Aimo" to REALLY get a reaction, though. Conversely, it could be that I've simply watched Laputa too many times... -
Heady days, indeed...I remember that one of my friends actually collected all 50 episodes of Zeta Gundam, episode by episode...he started in 1985 and had all of them, I believe, by 1990. A few years later, I just signed up at a Japanese video store in Little Tokyo, rented the tapes, and copied them. My friend was quite livid.
-
Really? Everyone on earth? How do you know it was so widespread...? (Not saying you're wrong...just wondering...)
-
After watching that scene countless times, I finallycame to the conclusion that it WAS a deserted city, and it had to have been VERY far from where the Macross was resting.

Yeah, I noticed that, too...I kind of wish the negative voters for this ep would've given reasons why they disliked it, like "There are too many asteroids," or "I hate Fire Bomber and they mentioned Planet Dance in this episode," or "Vomit jokes are not funny," or "Ranka's a shemale with a glowing tummy, and that's just unnatural," or "Giant robots that turn into planes? Pop singers? Love triangles??? This is not what I watch Macross for!!!" At the very least, it would've given the rest of us something more to talk about... -

Didn't Alto see him flying up to the Vajra carrier after it arrived...? -
Crap, I really didn't mean to open this can of worms again...Sorry, folks.

In space, nobody can hear you swear. -
I want in, but only if we can make fun of Doug Bendo.
