Okay, in honor of the anniversary, I did a bunch more than I was planning and finished Chapter One of the Macross Perfect Memory short story, "The Lost Two Years."
This is only the second draft, and I think I nabbed all the typos, but if you find any, please let me know.
(And yes, there are illustrations for this story. I haven't added them yet.)
Oh... and those of you who went wild over Meltran wrestling... you ain't seen NUTHIN' yet!

Some of us are doing more than just "watching"...
-
I expect BandaiVisual will not be generous to provide eng-subs if BW doesn't pay additionally for it.
Payment is not the issue.

Far left, front row.Time to play 'Let's spot the SpeakerPODcast members in the front row.
(Hint: there's two of us).
Let's! (^_−)

Thank you, Renato!
-
Wait... They made a Macross TWO...?
-
Please, everyone. Just stop. Trying to figure it out at this point will just lead to head-canon, which will undoubtedly be more satisfying (to you) than the actual show.
Just sit back, relax, and luxuriate in the calm before the storm.

SAAAVE! it's Arbit on da phone!I have to show some support to the Macross II fans on this podcast.
My experience with it was that I first saw a couple episodes English Dubbed, and I absolutely hated it.
Then later I finally got it subbed on DVD, and I've enjoyed it ever since.
Lots of Zentran love in the last few eps of that series.

I think I already proposed singing Valks on the Speaker Podcast...
-
It's the same source, though...

I do agree w you on his design process starts aesthetically but I don't think I'll rule out that he didn't consider the technological advancement consideration as part of his design. Based on his talk/panel and interviews it's clear he considers his mecha designs in entirety which means he considers the "world" in which his designs exist. Does this mecha require more weapons? Does it require more boosters/rockets? Why? Are the enemy they are fighting fast and agile? He takes all this into consideration and implements it into his design. And this is something he asks everyone on how to design-think and create new IP and new mechanical designs.
That said I was just stating how I interpret it and basically fan-wanking a possible reason why the 4 thruster approach prevalent in frontier era valks was reduced back to two. Kawamori might have an entirely different reason (example the setting requires the valk to be used mostly in atmospheric flight only) or any other reason. Hardly putting anything in the man's mouth. As a fan I'm just having fun guessing the reasons. Maybe there might not be any at all but that doesn't mean I can't have my fun thoughts. Besides I give kawamori enough credit especially after listening to his lecture that the man has reasons on why and how he designs his mecha.
You can fan-wank all you want, but if Tochiro says that Kawamori was talking about the transformation ability, then he was. Which should end any speculation that he was actually talking about engines.

Ain't I a stinker?
-
Nope. You have to watch the movie.
I saw it in the cinema three times.
-
Except in this case, there doesn't seem to be a manga adaptation forthcoming...? At least, I haven't seen anything about one.
-
Are there going to be more than one? I hope it's just one, for no other reason than that frontier already did it and I don't want to see it again so soon, although it was so successful in frontier that I can see them trying to repeat it.
Variable fighters have been successful, too, so I bet this show will have them.
Greedy bastards.

But... I wanna see the idol(s)...

I'm confused. I always thought that the ones who wanted a comedy were the folks from WIZU, but Miyatake is saying that Studio Nue wanted a comedy? So it was the other way around or what?
I was wondering that myself... Maybe Miyatake just skipped over that part in order not to go off on a tangent...?
-
Well... The Genocidas gerwalks don't look anything like a Valk... I think it was still a happy accident.
-
The last time I did a complete rewatch of everything was in the lead-up to Frontier... I'm long overdue...
-
Formatting issues aside, that's nothing but awesome!
Thank you!!
-
For the third time, Paladinrja, you keep insisting that Studio Nue is an animation studio... What's your source, please?
-
This is like that whole need to firmly plant Studio Nue as a design body only. Thats actually inaccurate, they are not a huge studio but are capable of producing small projects which I believe they have been doing since the early 70's.
Again... Source, please?
-
Maybe on the BD, not on the last DVD set, unless I missed them somehow.

Thank you! It's barely half-done, though... thank me early next month (if all goes as planned)!
