That blows man. This is just another reason I don't save payment information with anybody. I'm too paranoid of automation failing, so I do everything manually.

I liked the S. Matsunaga Zaku R1A enough to get the MG. It was my first bad-guy suit (because I decaled up my MkII Titans as Unit 03) and it's just a really imposing display piece. The R1A is definitely cooler than the basic Zaku II, and I think it looks better than the more streamlined R2. And the grey-on-white color scheme really gets me going. Hikuro, Bandai delivers to HLJ on Thursday, they usually send the payment request on Friday, and ship Saturday or Monday, in my experience. If you preordered, you should be guaranteed a kit. HLJ is usually pretty careful not to overextend their preordering ability. (Which is why the LED set went on order stop so long ago)

Destiny, new game from Bungie

My roommate got through the story missions in like half an hour, but he's still not level 30 to take on the raid. I noticed that knight shields are broken currently. Troy's been shooting right through them. -

You can ground-test nuclear rocket engines, you just need a lot of Nevada to perform the engine tests. The one concept that doesn't get raised often enough is testing a nuclear rocket in space. Either by sending it up as assembled payload, or assembling the engine in orbit, safe testing can be achieved. This may be an option for after more permanent positions on the moon have been established, or after the proposed asteroid-capture mission succeeds. -

That's the logic that people have used for decades to try and stop the launch of nuclear powered probes, rovers, and landers, and it has been rebuffed time and again. Cassini-Huygens comes to mind, as does Curiosity in more recent memory. There are failsafes that are designed into nuclear devices, specifically to prevent the kinds of catastrophes people complain about the potential for. -

The WK feels too Dodge for my taste. The interior screams Durango, and it's mechanically similar to the Durango in more ways than I like. I even prefer the ZJ 5.9 Limited to the WK SRT8. I'd probably trade a KK for pretty much anything though. Spazzy t-cases seem to plague that generation of Jeeps all around. The newer NV245 in the WK2 is much better at, you know, working, than the old model NV245 in the WK. I've been without my ZJ for a week now, here in Oklahoma. I hitched a ride with my friend (in his WJ) on my way up in search of a change of pace from Dallas. It's not really working out though. I think I'll be returning to my Jeep and my Nissan sooner, rather than later. -

No, he was actually very indignant about the whole thing. Totally ungrateful. Spoiled kid. His parents were gracious, though, and his mom publicly thanked me on faceballs when she posted a video of it running. Apparently some people were telling him he should have gone LS (a position I don't disagree with) and he got all moany, saying "I can build my truck how I want" which struck a nerve with me, because his parents have paid for everything on this truck, somebody else did the paint and upholstery, a shop rebuilt the transmission, and I swapped his engine. I don't think he's so much as changed the brakes on it on his own. Damn only children. I have to agree, after my time in the parts industry. "Maintenance-free" really means "non-serviceable; replace if worn". On that note, my grandma's 2013 Fusion, shockingly, has ports to manually check all the fluid levels except the washer fluid, because the 2-gallon washer tank is under the bumper. It's even more surprising for the transmission, for me, because it's an automated dry-clutch manual transmission. Of course, even my dad's Saturn, with its manual transmission, has a dipstick. I've never seen that on any of the 3-pedals I've owned. Anything regarding a WK is a pain. Talk about your oddball-out Grand Cherokee. It's my least favorite of the four generations, and I'm in the strange sect you'd describe as Grand Cherokee fanboys. (I've owned 4 ZJs, and nearly bought no fewer than 5 WJs) I'd rock a Ram. I've always preferred the current generation of Ram to the other two trucks on the market. Of course, I'm on a first-generation Grand Cherokee budget, so I'll have to settle for my 200hp Jeeps. I can only dream of a Hellcat. -

It is worth noting that Sudou says the Japanese National Tournament was the first time he'd played at Level A and his gunpla is shown totally destroyed after that, completely unrecoverable, whereas after a Level B fight we usually see a detached limb or something. That's where I'm getting this. I'm probably wrong on some detail, but that's the general gist I get. I hope they put out an official explanation of how damage level works.- 971 replies

I think Damage Level B just pops the gunpla apart without causing permanent damage. Level C looks like it just turns off limbs and stuff, while Level A is like we see in the original. That was a fun episode though. Return appearances are good, and now I'm really intrigued as to Sekai's origins.- 971 replies

I think the Disco Volante looks ridiculous, with an Italian beauty and flair that production cars can't capture. As I recall, it's an 8C with suspension tuning changes to make it more of a GT and less of a sports car, plus the Flying Saucer body and interior touches. I'd rock it. -

Coming from automotive, this is pretty much how it works. While a smoother finish theoretically should be slipperier through air, drag coefficient doesn't really change based on paint condition. Boundary layer stuff happens, especially at higher speeds, and that takes care of smaller surface area aberrations. Looking at fighter aircraft, they seem to react just fine to rough matte finishes that gloss over in areas due to friction, and that's the rough pinnacle of flight characteristics. So I'd assume it's similar to automotive in this regard. Aero is not that sensitive in practice, I suppose. Coming back around to the Israeli stunt pilot, I don't think he should be punished for flying low on the glide slope. As if this kind of landing stunt doesn't happen all the time. -

Similarly, I've spent enough time around Fords and Chevrolets that you'd think I wouldn't notice panel gap anymore, but oh no, I think the PG's horn will be sufficient. Maybe not perfect, but it's an improvement over the MG and it comes in color, so I'll take it.

Yeah I'm still not sure they've really pulled it off with the horn as it is in this one. Of course it'd be a big blow to Bandai's professional pride if they put separate horn/v-fin parts in their so-called Perfect Grade no-parts-swapping kit. I think it's probably better this way. The magnet does look to hold it together better than the MG's, and as long as you make sure it's together, you probably won't be able to tell easily without close inspection.

Pre-Disney canon states that by 0 BBY, the vast majority of the Stormtrooper Corps was comprised of birth-born recruits, primarily human male, but females were allowed to enlist as long as they met the physical requirements. Only a detachment of the 501st Stormtooper Legion was still comprised of unretired Fett Clones, who'd managed to last that long. It also states this was a deliberate move after the rebellion on Kamino, in which a Kaminoan faction used repurposed clones to attempt to break free from the new Empire. Genetically modified clones were considered too susceptible to the kind of programming that made groups defect en masse. Disney canon suggests similar points, though I'm not certain how exactly they went about diversifying the corps. My hope for the weird lightsaber is it's an ancient Sith lightsaber of various ceremonial purpose. Pre-Disney canon explains that older Sith lightsabers used artificial focus crystals, which caused the red blade hue, but also often failed to maintain a stable, solid blade, instead causing arcing and power fluctuations across the blade. This was both frightening to opponents, and dangerous to the wielder, as the blade could arc back on the user at any time. Of course, Disney doesn't believe in canon, so who knows? Maybe it's just a special effect we'll see on all the lightsabers. If this trailer is anything to go by, we're looking at a mostly-CG film, with some partial sets and props. If we're lucky, it'll have as much practical work as Phantom Menace, but I'm honestly expecting Revenge of the Sith-level cinematography at best.
