  1. Anyone see this version? ....just kidding. I can't believe I painted the most expensive valk I ever bought. I'm one of the very few who just happens to like the grey version better.
  2. I'm definitely going to get a 17D and, as expensive as it is, I'm going to take it apart, paint all the grey more of a charcoal grey, and really make this guy stealthy! I'll post pics when I'm done. And it's not like I have all this expendable income. I've sold most my valks and just kept a few VF-1's and SV-51's, but The 17D is one of my favs... and I need my stealth to be stealthy.
  3. I can honestly say I've never had bad head in my life... ... but then again I didn't get any of the version 1 squishy heads In all seriousness though, I'm anxiously awaiting the VF-17D! Now that has to be the best head in the Macross Universe!
  4. Funny, the VF-17 is one of my favorite designs (to each their own), but I like the "D" version better, so I'll just pass on this one and hope the "D" gets produced, and even then, I'll only buy one to display in battroid mode due to the compromised (but understandably so) fighter mode. We're on the same page tho. I'm happy Yamato is doing what they're doing, but I'll only buy the ones I like and can afford, and just keep hoping there's enough customers out there buying all the Yamato toys I don't like to keep them producing Still waiting for that 1/60 monster... ...the price and the compromised fighter mode will bring me to buy just one
  5. wow.... that's exactly what I meant... Let me re-phrase the first part to avoid any further mis-interpretation: "if you don't like it, or if you like it but can't afford it, then don't buy it" ... and the market will decide whether Yamato is successful or not.
  6. I'm amazed. I would love a sleeker fighter, but of course, there would be big sacrifices to the battroid (which I love). Bottom line, there is a design team that spends countless days engineering and re-engineering these wonderful toys, in which they have to make some compromises here and there to get the best final product, and then we tear it down on the internet. Must be annoying for them, but I guess it's the same as pro athletes who are in the top 1% of players in their sport, dealing with the media and fans telling them they suck. If you don't like it, don't buy it, and then they won't continue to bother us by making anymore Macross toys(...although I'm sure Graham and a few others will buy enough of a VF-17 fleet to keep them afloat)
  7. I just thought I'd throw up a pic of my modestly customized Konig Monster. I love the teeth, but I do think I loved the original version more, so here it is: I was going to customize another one of my monster figures but decided to list it on ebay along with a bunch more macross stuff that I realized I just don't have the time for.
  8. thanks for the kind words! And yeah, they made an Ozma Battroid, a Konig Monster and a Tornado Alto in fighter mode.
  9. I had an extra gerwalk mode of the SD VF-25S from Banpresto, so I decided to customize it into the fighter mode. Hope you like it! http://cgi.ebay.com/Macross-CUSTOM-Kuji-Banpresto-VF-25S-Ozma-SD-prize-/150458027592?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item2307ff4e48 http://cgi.ebay.com/Macross-CUSTOM-VF-171-Nightmare-17-robot-damashii-/150458028230?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item2307ff50c6
  10. I'm getting a few boxes of series 3 within a few days, and I'm not trying to complete the set (I just want 4 from the 3rd set), so I'll have plenty to trade. I'll post my trade list then. Unfortunately, I'm looking for 6 fro series 2 (0S, 25S, RVF, 1S, 19 and 21) I'll post soon! Just though I'd attach a pic to show ho a little panel lining makes such a big difference...
  11. Finally got this little guy done, so I thought I'd share. Can't believe this toy has yet to be made. I may decide to sell this on ebay, but I had fun making it.
  12. You know... ...you're totally right! We need more helpful ideas from people like you, and less MacrossWorld members trying to subtly disguise the sarcasm in their responses. You should apply to be a manufacturing consultant for Yamato. Be sure to include in your resume that you are a "self-proclaimed genius", for those are the best kind! ...sorry, couldn't resist. So much fodder here... 3 pages already... And I don't speak Icelandic, but I don't believe it would be as difficult to decipher as your prose. The suggestion about using punctuation and thoughtfulness before you write could really serve you well in the future.
  13. I think with a minimal paint job, just a little grey shading on the smoke, it could look pretty fine.
  14. It seems most people aren't too keen on these, but with a little glue, the occasional xacto-knife-flash-removal , and some panel lining, and I think these things look pretty sharp.
  15. Oh, I made two of these, so one is on ebay for those interested parties
  16. Thanks for all the kind words. My only wish is that Bandai would go with a semi-gloss or satin finish instead of a gloss. It would make a world of difference. Oh well, I'll still blow my money on them!
  17. I wish I could go to the con. I would enter this if I could... oh well
  18. I'm already planning to do a low viz armored set. I like the shades of gray better than the highlighted ones!
  19. I just listed these, so I had to take a few pictures. I know it's a simple pic, but it makes me want to keep them!
  20. The two tone color differences don't bother me either. In fact, I think it's a pretty cool custom paintjob when people paint different panels just slightly different shades. There was a YF-21 fighter model someone did like that a few years back.
  21. Yup. This figure consists of: - Yamato 11B body, hips, thighs, hands and neck - Bandai 144 VF-17 front and back of body, head, arms, lower legs and feet, and gun - The wrist joints and shoulder joints are from some other plastic kits - The head was widened slightly to look a bit better, the end result is a taller, slightly wider figure to match the Yamato line
  22. Here's my latest custom to fit in with the GN-U Dou line from Yamato, as this is my favorite valk in battroid mode. I made 2, and am considering selling one of them on ebay.
  23. I know your message was 2 years old, but I've started to think of that kit again. Do you still have it? and would you consider selling it?
  24. I'd like to say i was lucky too, but... I am going to sell a great deal of my collection. Not the Macross stuff, of course, but everything else, from Diaclones, Transformers, Hao Pride Figures, lego, pinky street, star wars etc... We bought our apartment 5 years ago, and with a 1 year old baby, we decided to move into a larger apartment and rent it while renting ours out. We'll just wait for the market to settle before we buy another place, and our rent in is $50 more than what we pay out (of course we have some added expenses at both, so we're probably losing out a little). Anyways, I'm just selling because I realized I like Macross over all else. Ebay will be full of my stuff in the next week or so.
