  1. Vote: no way I panel line my own, and I have learned some things over time. Definitely, lighter/ more subtle lines are always better, and I really feel the 1/48 VF-1's don't really need much at all, because the lines were made rather deep, that the shadow within them is almost good enough. and the production cost of a panel-lined valk would be way more than it's worth. And really, panel lining doesn't take that much skill. If you're scared, use the mechanical pencil like some people have done.
  2. I don't know why people don't seem to use hlj.com like I often do. It's fairly cheap, and the shipping is quite reasonable, especially when you buy a few items at a time. You have the option of sending items that are available at one time, or to wait and ship them along with any preordered items. I've had my YF-19's since last year. now we just need an SV-51, and a YF-21... and oh yes, a regult... and then maybe a big monster too
  3. only the pofile pic seems to be squishy on my computer, and sorry forum people, i meant to put this in the display your valks thread
  4. [attachmentid=39314] [attachmentid=39315] [attachmentid=39318] [attachmentid=39316] I found this pic of the first one, and it made me buy one myself. I have yet to assemble it, but hope to do it soon. I dig them, and i have a feeling they'll be close to a 1/100 scale. I plan to build a vf-22S 1/100 scale to go with this one. It's funny. I've sold off a lot of my toys, and I'm pretty much down to a few 1/48s, the mac plus and zero 1/60s, but i still really like the wave vf-17s, non-scale vf-0s and vf-22s
  5. [attachmentid=39311] [attachmentid=39312] [attachmentid=39313] just a VF-1S with a Roy Focker Cheerleader, you know, typical.
  6. You know, the true measure of our addictions is what percentage of our monthly income is spent on Yammies. If i was a millionaire, I'd definitely have more... as well as a 911 turbo.
  7. Just over $2000, and I now only collect macross stuff, so some of you guys are definitely making me feel better about myself and my addiction. So all I need now is 2 x YF-21s, 2 x SV-51s, and some battlepods, then I'll quit... maybe

    Graham's Sig

totally forgot about that one. I guess my macross knowledge is more limited than i thought

    Graham's Sig

Someone probably said this already but here's my guess: flap flap flap can either refer to ostrich or sv-51. Defintiely not a monster, TV VF-1s or a yf-21. And... in one post G rules out the possibility of 2 seaters from Yamato. And... in one post he refers to one of 8 aforementioned comments as being prophetic. One of whom suggested a plan of alternating between macross 0 and macross plus properties. Just simple speculation, nothing more harry
  10. I saw a wicked pic of a VF-1S but have since lost it, but then i thought i want to see all the well done battroid models out there to inspire me. Wave, Bandai, Hasegawa, whatever... [attachmentid=37650]
  11. OK I was bored, so I decided I just couldn't wait for pics of the colored YF-19 to be released, so I quickly COREL'ed the picture that David Hingtgen posted. Here's a comparison I'm such a geek that I had fun tainge David's old picture, and my painted one, and just flipping back and forth... and I bet some of you are geeky enough to do that too.
  12. Here's a pic of my 1/60 Battroid WITHOUT the squashed face. I learned something when doing this simple custom job. The minor addition I put on his jaw makes it so that his head can't rotate 180 degrees during transformation. I have to actually unscrew the head to raise it up enough to turn it around. This leads me to believe that the Yamato VF-1S Squishy head was purely to aid transformation. The 1J heads all extended necks enough to clear for raotation.
  13. Here you go admitidly this one has a missing arm and the funny back pack that some of them had but here you go, I really couldnt be bothered to get my Roy one down from where it is glued. 425395[/snapback] Wow, that brings back memories. When i was a kid and knew of Roboteh and not Macross, i had one of those that I don't even remember where i got it from... a friend or someone, but you won't believe the fun I had with that ugly piece of crap. Yamato has taken Macross a long way1
  14. I really loved my 1/60 in battroid and fighter, but ever since this post I started noticing his squashed head more and more. So I decided to putty his face and give him cosmetic jaw surgery. Thanks macrossworld, for giving my wife more examples of how I'm like the 40 Yr. Old Virgin. "I'm going to paint your pants silver"
  15. Thanks Graham That's exactly what i was looking for. I have the 1/65 and the 1/72 already, but am considering doing this one too. Hopefully Yamato will one day give me reason to spend more money on VF-17s. Until then, I'll continue building harry
  16. Great thread It seems 1/60 fighter, 1/48 gerwalk and 1/60 battroid is a pretty common answer amongst those who own both toys, and I totally agree, with respect to proportions. There also seems to be a lot of 1/48, 1/48 and 1/48 from people too, but their answer seems to be based on detail and engineering rather than proportions ...so it really depends on what you're after (proportions or detail) and how thick your wallet is.
  17. The best thing we can all do is sell off all our non-macross toys, and spend our cash only on Yamato goodness. This will maxamize Yamato's production numbers, and then we'll all be happy and broke.
  18. I looked in the macrossworld model section and the only pics I can find of the completed 1/100 model from Wave is so small. Does anyone have any other pics of this guy completed?
  19. You know what would be an interesting stat? The correlation between how much we spend on Macross and whether we are single or not. Then again, our income probably determines how much we spend, so we would have to use our expenditure as a percentage of our income? The results may be scary, so maybe we shouldn't do that poll.
  20. Thanks GutsAndCasca, my VF-17 is the cheap 1/65 scale bandai toy, but i primered him and painted him. The other VF-17 is a 1/72 scale model by Wave.
  21. Here's all my Mac stuff except for my 1/60 scale VF-1 collection
  22. I got lazy, here he is in plain black but with a nice finish. I might still weather him. In hindsight I think I should've done some camo.
  23. I've finally decided to paint my konig monster, but want some suggestions on which way to go (if you're bored). I liked the vf-17 stealth colors, but am also thinking just black and grey. What do you think? Do you have any other suggestions?
  24. Just in case anyone is interested, I decided to sell a few of the items in the pictures: http://search.ebay.ca/_W0QQsassZbriareosQQ...1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0? 416911[/snapback] It's weird you know. She was right there, we were having a good time, and then after the alrm clock rang she just dissappeared.
