OK, some help here.

I've only seen, Macross, Macross 2, Plus, Zero, and now this Frontier.

Is there something in Macross 7 and DYRL that is affecting Frontier and is not making since to me now? Example, what is Megaroad, and what is meant that DYRL was filmed on a set? ? ?

1. DYRL or Do you remember love is a fictional movie about Space War 1 in the Macross continuity.

2. Macross 7 occurs 5 years after Macross Plus. One of the Macross colony fleets Macross 7 encounters a mysterious enemy, the Protodevlin. The main protagonist is Nekki Basara, a rock singer, whose power of song ended the war with the Protodevlin and saved the galaxy from destruction.

Ozma Lee, SMS Skull Squadron leader is a fan of Nekki Basara/Fire Bomber fan. Sound speakers concept which was first used in Macross 7 was also used in the last episode.

3. Megaroad is the class designation for the original city ships built after Space War 1. The most famous of these is the missing Megaroad 1 which contains the Space War 1 heroes Hikaru, Misa and Minmay.

Of the Megaroad class at most 30 where built till the the New Macross Class fleets became standard.

Macross Plus happened 19 years before Frontier takes place, which is several years prior to the launching of the Frontier itself. I mean geez, did you guys all just come off the Robotech bus, or what?

Which is coincidentally the same year of first contact with the Vajra.

They never heard from them again till 8 years later with the 117th research fleet being destroyed.

It's not like Sharon Apple invited them with her singing, right? Right?!

Actually I'm more rooting for a Mexican around the same age as Alto.

Little Pedro all grown up, maybe a older Elma with her pet three eyed snake Cappy.

Heck why not Chlore, Tranquil and Emilia with the entire fangirl fleet as reinforcements.

Been watching Macross 7 again for the long wait on Frontier 13.

I've noticed Macross 5 has 3 shelldome cities, one factory ship and one Neo Nupetiet-Vergnitzs bis class battleship.

Now I don't think all of them are with a New Macross class battleship.

Two shelldome cities are probably with Uruga class carriers.

Compared to Macross 7 fleet that has one shelldome city (Akusho island ship and forest dome also) with one New Macross class battleship, a West Point Class Macro-Training Base Ship, Riviera Resort Ship, Einstein Research Experimental Ship, Hollywood Amusement Ship, Sunnyflower Agricultural Ship, Three Star Factory Ship, a cemetery ship (Macross 7 Trash) and the recent addition in 2047 the Budoukan Concert Ship.

Compare them to Macross Frontier where they prefer a more integrated setup.

A bigger shelldome island and interconnected island ships that are big enough for biospheres and Zentradi.

These fleets are surounded by Urugas, Guantanamos and Bologneses (Zentradi variant for Macross 5)

Macross Frontier uniquely has the SMS Macross Quarter.

Macross Galaxy on the otherhand is radically different from the shelldome concept.

Probably taking a page from the Megaroad series or the original SDF-1 Macross city. Unlike the three mentioned fleets above this one is surounded by the Dulfim and Kaitos types of ships. Though it is described as New Macross class we as of yet are to make heads or tails if it has a New Macross class battleship or where it is docked.

Soooo who did Mylene end up with? Did she get married to Basara or Gamilin, or did she stay single?

In the Frontier manga when Luca sees Sheryl he said that Sheryl is considered the most beautiful voice in the galaxy next to Mylene Jenius.

Now she could have stayed single or she kept her maiden name for recognisibility.

Guess who now lives in Frontier...

Take this as a grain of salt but Sheryl's "Atashi no Uta wa Kike!" is the girl version of Basara's "Ore no Uta wa Kike!" , which Ranka also used recently, I think ever persistent and never say die flower girl may have had an influence on young Sheryl.

You're only saying that now because her focus ep isn't there yet.

I have stinking feeling Nanase will be the tragic figure in this series.

Luca likes her. So far she doesn't have a clue.

But when Luca does confess he'll have death flags written all over him.

She'll likely be the Claudia of Frontier.

Or they have a miclone chamber stashed.

Back stabbing Ally killer Quamzin used to steal those things.

IF the writers have to invent some crazy, over-contrived (lets face it - it will be kinda nutty and contrived) reason for the Macross (or M-alike) sitting on Gallia4 or just blow it up and move on; I'll be quite disappointed in the show. I'll still watch it though, I mean it's Macross after all. But it would feel a little empty if the Macross gets destroyed (completely that is, I'm OK with severely damaged and repairable).

Well it has been postulated before that either the Quarter or Battle 25 will be destroyed with the SDF-1 being the calvary.

But I'd like to see the SDF-1 Macross, New Macross class Battle 25 and the Macross Quarter firing their Macross canons together against a big bad mothership or fleet.

Heck while were at it why not the new Battle 7 that we last saw being constructed in Macross Dynamite 7.

I wonder if anybody already pointed this out yet.

They never did establish which fleet it belonged to.

I always took the wedding pictures as dream sequences.

Either both are Mylene's dream sequence or the other one being Gamlin's dream sequence.

Well given it has dead persons and the Protodevlin, Gamlin has been known to have quirky dreams.
