  1. To anyone reading this who is on the edge: You won't be disapointed with a J.Mosc model. His work is impeccable, and always as realistic as it gets. If your on the edge...get in while the getting is good. The Tanmen Catseye has been fetching a lot of money since it's not available anymore...consider this a chance at investing!

  3. Remember...it's not the size of your VF, it's how you use it!
  4. TY!!! I decided I really wanted to build a neat diorama to go with this thing...and I think I needed a break from the armor...so i started working on the piece that will be the back wall, and eventually the floor. The piece of girder structure that comes with the kit will be detailed and will sit on this, and then I'm working on some other pieces to go with it. I'm new to scratch building, but so far I'm having fun and I think it's coming along well enough. I've been scavenging up pieces from all sorts of things to make it all work...very cool. Just starting http://home.comcast.net/~jestefarean/GP01/image3.JPG Covering plywood http://home.comcast.net/~jestefarean/GP01/Image4.JPG Started adding a viewing window http://home.comcast.net/~jestefarean/GP01/Image5.JPG Floor starts to get worked on, and I start adding some details to the window http://home.comcast.net/~jestefarean/GP01/Image6.JPG Next up...finish detailing the door and wall, tile and detail the floor, and then start detailing the gantry.
  5. Well..this is taking longer then I thought it would, but it's getting there. 1st armor nearly done...needs some detailing...needs a clearcoat, and needs some decals. 2nd armor set started, and supplies for diorama expansion are here...woot!
  6. LOVE IT! I'm just starting on expanding my diorama for my PG Gundam. Ill post some pics later...thanks for sharing...I really like it.
  7. I'm sure he has...but it sure would be awkward to sit father and son and watch something like that! PG-13...even light R is fine...but I'd like to make it not that awkward for either of us.
  8. No one ever looked the the Mona Lisa...then saw the end and said WTF?!?!? He has seen most of it...we started a while ago...maybe even all of it...and I think he did say WTF now that I think of it.
  9. This is awesome...I'm compiling a list from this. Very cool
  10. First trick...get your kids involved. My son loves building models, so it helps to have his interest and involvement. Second Trick...budget some time....for me...I need a little "me" time...and modeling is my escape. My wife digs this. Normally I wait till the kids are in bed and squeeze in 30 or 60 minutes Third trick - Win the lotto...still working on this one.
  11. LOL...I didn't "make" him do anything. He asked. It's a nice thing we can do together...I play sports with my daughter...I build models and watch anime with my son. (well...we watch all sorts of things...anime sometmies). Evangelion I heard was rough..so I prescreened it and only let him watch some episodes. Macross Zero, for him, was all about the improved animation techniques. The first version we watched didn't even have subtitles, so we joked about what the dialogue must have been and enjoyed the beautful art. YOU GUYS ROCK!!! This is a great list. I love a lot of the ideas. I'm going to order a few sets of DVDs so when we finish up Frontier I will have something in waiting. Thank you so so much!!!!!
  12. LOL....I didn't originally post here as I wasn't really interested in either just 1/72nd scale (1/48 would be nice) or Bandai kits. Oh well...If I had posted here I would have likely been scolded anyways. So...question continued...are there any VF-25 kits to be had that aren't Bandais' variable? Anyone making the Bandais locked in one mode? (and if so, how are they coming? )
  13. LOL "I find your lack of license disturbing"
  14. So...I was wondering if any of you would mind providing some input on good Anime series. My son is about to turn 14. We are currently watching Macross Frontier and we are both enjoying it. I was wondering what else we might want to watch next. It needs to be "PG-13". We have watched all the other Macross Series, Genesis Climber Mospeda and parts of Evangelion as well as some Gundam. Any other good series you might suggest as something good for a father and a son? He likes mecha, action...and will tolerate all the singing and romance of Macross. Cheers and thanks.
  15. So...I'm finally catching up on Macross Frontier...and I'm loving it....but I'm a little disapointed with the models I can find. Looks like Bandai has a nice selection of 1/72 variables...but I've sworn off variable models. To hard (for me at least) to make them sturdy enough for the finish and build to handle transformation more then a few times. Anyone know if there is any chance of a Hasegawa release of a single mode kit. (seems unlikely with Bandai owning the rights for 1/72) Other decent options? (I started watching for resins, but I'm not catching much)
  16. You folks all ROCK! Thanks for all the information. Well, I guess I have my work cut out for me. I was hoping to browse through all the 1/60 stuff for inspiration....now I need to take a look at 1/72...S-Guage...and even consider if Macross figs would work. It's nice to have options! Many thanks!
  17. Looking for a bit more help if anyone has some knowledge. I'm finishing up my PG GP-01FB (okay...70%...not really "finishing" ) I'm starting to work on the display and I'm realizing I'm going to want to build a bit of a diorama around it. I've got a few 1/60 figs that came with it, but I could use some more...I'm not finding any large amount of 1/60 detail kits to go with the PG's (which seems suprising with all the Yamato 1/60 stuff and Gundams) am I looking in the wrong places? I could use figures, vehicles...misc bits. Thanks!
  18. Thank you for sharing that sobering story. I'm going to grab my mask now. Lesson learned.
