  1. Don't you just love capitalism? I have clients come to me all the time asking me for "ethical" investments. I nearly laugh my ass off every time. When it comes to business and money, it's about what you can legally get away with. Unfortunately, there will always be a market where people are going to buy extras and unload at higher prices just because they can. There is nothing actually wrong with it. It just sucks when we're all fighting for a piece of the same small pie. We're not talking about selling water during a water shortage anyway. These are just toys. What sucks is that Bandai created this atmosphere by deliberately producing very small numbers of stock when the demand is ripe for way more. If people are going to be angry, they should direct it at Bandai, and not at other collectors. What's that saying? Don't hate the playa, hate the game? I thought about trying to display every valk in every mode, but I just can't afford it. (Honestly, I don't know how some on here can afford their habits. Clearly I need a better job, haha).
  2. So many people put in multiple orders at different shops out of fear they won't get filled. Ebay will be chalk full of these things soon after release. You might be able to find a deal. Just don't expect Amiami prices... and unfortunately in that case, early bird gets the worm... or worms as the case may be. There are people on here that ordered 2 or 3 from HLJ since HLJ didn't limit to 1. It is a part of collecting, unfortunately. You gotta be quick and vigilant. Also, I'm sure some of those people will be kind to other MW members and offer any extras up here...
  3. Ouch. Just slipped through your fingers. I hate when that happens.
  4. How do you know it was one person? Serious question.
  5. 1/60 seems to be the standard scale now. Believe me, at 1/60 some valks are already monsters in terms of size. If you want a broad ranging in-scale collection, stick with 1/60. 1/48, like 1/100 seems dead for the most part.
  6. Cool. Sounds better than what I've been doing.
  7. There's actually a slight indent halfway along the base of the canopy where the green part begins. I usually stick my finger in there and pry it open that way.
  8. A new hip section would go a long way to making the 27 look more accurate. Most of it looks great, but the hip section is all wrong compared to the renewal.
  9. It's a beautiful valk. But not that beautiful.

    HI METAL LOVE THREAD

It's hard to compare a 1/100 scale vs 1/60, since there are so many things you can do at the larger scale you can't do at the smaller scale, such as the amount of detail. The 1/100 was a good option for people who balked at paying the prices of the 1/60's, but even then, they were still on the more expensive end of things. The battroid mode for the VF-1 was excellent, but the other modes were lacking compared to the 1/60. What I think killed the line was ultimately 1) price. It was still very expensive for such a small toy. 2) availability. Not only were the other skull squadron valks web exclusives, but so were the super parts that you had to buy separately as well. I really wanted the Hi-Metal line to succeed, but Bandai just seemed to get cold feet over them. Size-wise they would have saved me a lot of shelf-space. But at this point I have gone too deep into the 1/60 scale, that I can't go back. There is no way I am replacing my entire collection with a 1/100 scale should that come out, and I think a lot of collectors feel the same way.
  11. The previous renewals were tampo printed. There's no reason to believe this won't be as well.
  12. What would put that REX over the top was if it could fit a GI Joe sized figure. I don't think it can.
  13. This is what google translate gave me: the devil takes me a few days I get the yamato VF-17D Regardless of translation, I think it's the wrong thread.
  14. Same. The only time a box is cool is if I am keeping one MISB. I have an extra Ozma renewal and a VF-1S TV Roy custom that I keep MISB, but that's it.
  15. Eh. I've never gone super nuts over anime accuracy even for the more expensive MP Transformers. That said, to be fair, TF fans are their own type of batsh*t crazy.
  16. You know, I bet a lot will appear on eBay soon after release. I doubt everyone that ordered at multiple places will keep each one. They're just covering their butts. I think a lot of people are in the same boat as you. I ordered from Amiami in the first round of orders, and the order was open for a couple minutes after I ordered, so I am confident I will get mine. But again, this is all because of Bandai limiting stock to a toy line that is just awesome and people genuinely want. So it makes sens to order at multiple places. Also, since BBTS tends to get their stuff a little later than the Japanese stores, I expect people to drop their BBTS orders once they get confirmation their Japanese store orders went through.
  17. It looks really awesome to me. I don't care if something isn't 100% anime accurate. Like Ozma's black gunpod. Or the slightly different tint of the grey paint on Ozma. (Something I didn't, and still don't notice, but apparently it's really important) Doesn't matter to me. Looks freaking awesome. The thread I normally hang out at, at TFW, is not like this. I only see the nit picking here at MW, but I guess this is where all the hardcores are. Don't get me wrong: everyone has a right to say what's on their mind. It just doesn't seem to matter to me, is all.
  18. Everyone is paranoid orders at one shop aren't going to be filled, so they order at multiple places. This is the BS environment that Bandai has created with their deliberately small allotments.
