the person who spilled the most blood is Ranka and yes, definitely noticed the likely reference to the Mongolian names. but Macross F's Ogotai is the superior here while in Mongol history he's the son (usually written Temujin in english for Genghis Khan, but its the same in japanese)

Macrossf official website now shows the title for ep 13 as 'Memory of Global' (was previously 'Twilight Planet').

When Temjin was talking to his men (just after opening the reaction weapons armory), he mentioned something being asleep on the planet... Temjin somehow knows about it (perhaps thru Agent G?). I suspect what Agent G ultimately wants is this sleeping treasure (AFOS? queen vajra? or specifically a source producing the purple gems). If Ranka did not come to Galia 4, the zentran rebels will either succeed in their mutiny or most likely all the rebels will be killed by the ship's cannons. Either way, if G knows about the sleeping treasure, why did she want to create a reckus here at Galia 4 and end up getting alot of attention? If she wanted it by herself, she'd not want others to know, and deal with it secretly. I think Agent G needs a singer to 'wake up' the sleeping treasure. and she needs a reason for the singer to sing. Thus she had to set up such a scenerio and Sheryl's supposed to sing(?) to boost morale. But then why would Temjin say 'everything is going according to plan' after they captured Sheryl? So maybe Sheryl's NOT supposed to sing and her falling ill is also part of the plan. Next step, she had to send a message of their capture back to Frontier. Who sent that message to Frontier/Luca? Probably Grace. Why? because she knows the LAI has the new booster and its the only way to reach Galia 4 fast in an emergency. Problem is this new booster is still in testing phase and likely not many are produced yet so that the LAI/NUNS/SMS cannot send a bunch of fighters to rescue Sheryl. So she gambles on the chance that Luca, upon receiving the news, will suggest using this new booster and Ranka's charms to salvage the situation at Galia 4. So if all the above are planned, that means by now G knows that only Ranka has the ability to wake up the sleeping treasure. and Sheryl is not able to do that. As for the part where Cathy was talking to Leon in a limo (at the start of ep 11), when Cathy asked if the informant is Mr Vilra/Brera, Leon said maybe. Maybe Leon is lying - trying to keep G out of the picture. But if Mr Vilra knows about it too, he could be part of the conspiracy. At this point we don't know if he is in it with G. Also, the vf-27 had loaded the new booster in ep 11, and took off around the same time as Alto and Sheryl. That means most probably Brera arrived at Galia 4 several days before Alto. What was Brera doing these few days? Liaising with Temjin? Searching for the location of sleeping treasure?

valhary chowyunskinny Thanks for those SDF-1 pics. am still looking for pics from other series such as 2012, M+... i dont think vf-27 had the new fold booster technology. it probably was using the old fold technology for its internal booster thats why it had to load up the new fold booster this episode.

lol... this is embarrassing first, let me say i'm far from being fluent in (any) languages esp Japanese. but in this case, i'm 100% sure that the exact words used are not indicative of a SPECIFIC ship... first generation can mean the SDF-1 itself and it can mean a whole bunch of ships from the same class. (gosh this is getting repetitive? ) second, i believe it was cyde01 who's the first to mention and explained it in this very thread. others have mentioned it too, including a subber (creamyhorror: link). everyone just calm down... and wait for next ep... i guess now that the subs are out, everybody knows that this is LAI's new fold booster technology that is not limited by the fault surfaces (plz everybody T__T... stop using fold dislocation >.<, the correct term is fault surface - u can see it in the CG in ep 6). which reminds me, this relatively new fold booster technology - could Luca's scanning of the Vajra ship 'fold reactor' in ep 7 helped in its development? what r the differences between the vajra fold reactor and this new fold booster? the amount/mass it can take with it in a fold (fighter sized vs ship-sized)? or other differences? very surprised how fast they can develop the new fold booster if its only due to Luca's readings on that vajra ship.

yeah, even for real world history or even current events its really hard to tell which is the completely accurate record, or actually there is no completely accurate record, just records from certain points-of-view. although we know the real reason for using DYRL designs is because its 'looks nicer'. and SK just wants to tell the same story with slightly different twists and this is the easy way out of explaining.

1 - as i said i imagine the macross world people in the 2050s grew up knowing only the (bastardized) DYRL movie version of the 'history'. and in their minds, hikaru the hero flew a red+black striped 1A. They didn't know Hikaru flew the white+red vf-1J (perhaps they didn't know a 1J exists at all ) and picked up a second-hand valk from his senpai yadda yadda... so it's natural that if they made any statue or replica, they'd only use the DYRL version. Except maybe the historians who want to be very accurate in their records. For e.g. a real world scenerio: Romance of Three Kingdoms is a *novelisation* of a real time period in Ancient China. Many events are exaggerated and the novel is so hugely popular that most people do not even know certain events in the novel were either totally faked or brought from another event/time period. Likewise, the bastardization and popularity of DYRL movie in the macross world must've such a huge influence on the general folks that they'll only know this movie version and never question its accuracy. 2. yes the zentran advisor is historian and record keeper. that doesn't mean he knows technical stuff or he'll be helping the zentradi repair their ships and such. my *SPECULATION* is that the cloning is done by whole batches of battalions and they can't really tell which one will grow into Quamzin-clone not forgetting that bio-engineering is very complex - and even if they found out which one is an infant Quamzin, perhaps they can't kill him coz of human rights

Like cyde01 and others who know japanese said - it is too ambiguous - it could mean the sdf-1 itself, it could ALSO mean the first generation (not specific to sdf-1 itself). zzz relax guys... its too open for possibilities. we can only know next week.

1 - its a VF-1A (pic). maybe it just happens to be the same color. or it could be a replica in memory of the MIA Hikaru... and not forgetting most people in the Macross world will remember him by the red/black stripe coz of the "DYRL movie" bastardization... just like what Robocrap did to many people in our world... 2. perhaps they didn't know how to select which ones to clone, or there is no such options to select? they just push a button and the cloning machine churns out a battlion complete with a commander, an advisor, a squad leader, and all the soldiers. knowing zentradi are not experts in anything other than war.

that sucks. i really liked the character of Claudia too. at least the 3 bridge bunnies had some back stories for each of them. yet there's no news on Claudia. hope they give us some surprise/story on her BTW, why did the compendium and wiki list Claudia's rank as 2nd Lt. ? she's supposed to be same ranking as Misa all the way promoting up to Major as well... we don't need no dick chaser/hunter. huh? u didn't watch SDFM TV? the ep where Misa n guys went looking for the satellite factory via Breetai's ship... they found a Supervision Army ship which is the same make as the SDF-1 before it was modified (ASS-1)... so... this mysterious ship is ASS-2
