here too, this place might be a little more reliable:
-
there are still some places that have cases of 10 in stock, like this place:
http://wfwave.com/kit-19119-マクロスメカジオラマ+10個セット(食玩).html
you could use a proxy service to buy it. but I have never bought from that store so can`t be sure of their reliability.

I managed to buy the VF's the Rau and a couple of versions of the Regult a few year ago when in Shinjuku. Never knew there was a Monster as well
There is a CD Trader store there and one of the floors was always just Gashapon. So many different kinds. I think over my several visits to Japan I have spent a fair few hundred pounds in there. I bought everything Macross they had, and each visit just picked up anything I didn't already have. Even snagged a couple of still in box Chunkies for about. £10.
Next time you are in Japan, visit Osaka and I will show you around and help you find what you dont have yet.

Its the Macross Mecha Diorama blind box candy toy set made by TOMY a couple years back. 5 piece set consisting of: VF-1S, VF-1J, VF-1A, Quedluun-Rau, and Regult. Each having one piece of the Monster

I wonder if the Robotech Store, where you can find the TV version, would be open to making the DYRL version of the cap?
since its not the Robotech version of the SDF-1, I would assume not.

The TV version is via the Robotech store....Bariaburu may be able to help with the DYRL version....
The DYRL version is much harder to get, it was a event limited dojin item from Comic Market 91 produced by Yasu0. Only 15 were made, 5 of which are now owned by various MW members. He makes caps for nearly every Comic Market, twice a year. But he usually has a different ship for each Comic Market. Yahoo Japan Auctions is your main option now, if you want the DYRL SDF-1. As the cap owners I know at the moment would require you to pay "The Iron Price"

So... did anyone else notice something a little odd with the VF-1EX Valkyrie specs in the liner notes for Macross Delta Vol.5?
The majority of the specs look familiar enough, and the maximum airspeed at 10km is familiar enough and makes it look like the VF-1EX is probably a detuned and modified VF-1X or VF-1X+, but the engine is straight out of crazy town.
The text of the booklet describes it as a "FF-2001 Stage II thermonuclear reaction turbine engine" and gives it a per-engine thrust of 147,000kgf (1,441.58kN). That's gotta be an extra zero there, since 14,700kgf per engine would be consistent with the ~Mach 2.89 performance at 10km. As written, it'd make the VF-1 almost as zippy as the YF-27-5!
You are right, its is higher than normal thrust for a VF-1 by over a factor of 10. So most likely a editing or printer error with an extra zero like you say.

I noticed that most of the "Overtechnology" based vehicles are surprisingly lightweight for the volume they occupy. For example the VF-1 series weigh 18 tons fueled, and loaded. The Spartan weighs in at 30 tons. For the size of these machines they should probably weigh in at double or more. A real world example is the venerable F-14 which weighs 20 tons. The F-14 doesn't transform or have thermonuclear engines. Even if the VF-1 was literally an F-14 with arms, said arms would weigh 2-3 tons each.
Macross is by no means a sole offender. Dougram, and Gundam often have rediculously light mecha for their size, Gundam's many variant timelines especially.
Your observation is absolutely true, because Producer Kawamori designed the original VF-1 to be 25% smaller than it should be. And likely the mass reduced in proportion. Designer Tenjin mentioned this was a major difficulty in making the 1/1 scale VF-1 cockpit, as it was originally designed someone like Roy Fokker could not physically fit inside. The VF-0 was designed to be actually the size and mass that would be realistically possible, and there is a noticeable difference compared to the VF-1.

Yes, its called Gunnm Mars Chronicle, and she is on the final leg of her story. We get to see her as a young child growing up on Mars.
The manga is still going?
Plus people must have missed the fact that Rodriguez is directing this...

there is no need to be angry, the Master File series is basically a high print run fanbook, a "doujinshi" its just some people putting their unofficial made up stats in a book. It does not affect true cannon.
I totally agree. A non transforming VF-4 (VF being "variable fighter") is just Master File series page space filling nonsense.. in a way it makes me glad I can't read a word of Japanese as it would just piss me off to read all the other 'no thought given / spur of the moment ideas' nonsense they would have come up with..
I took out all of my Macross mecha & art books over the weekend and the VF-4 master file is definitely the worst of the lot. But still glad they actually released it.
-
Both the Master File and Chronicle are non-cannon. All Producer Kawamori has to do is declare that there is a separate parallel world where the VF-4 can transform. And BigWest can issue licenses to anyone who wants to make a toy of that one.
And why Yamato/Arcadia never released a VF-4 in FB2012 scheme...
Bandai teased one for the HMR line....wonder if all that nonsense will finally go out the door?
-
Oh, not quite so recent then. I missed it when it was first offered.
Thanks for mailing me that link.
Guys, he's referring to this: http://deagostini.jp/select/detail.php?id=7711
If memory serves, that was a limited print-run mail-in-only item during the "MC Rev. Ed."'s publication run. Apparently they still have some stock left over. (I also find it cute that they're referring to it with the Gundam-esque "Earth Federation Forces Skull Squadron" - maybe that's why they're having trouble selling it [nevermind the price]!).
-
They have recently started printing new Macross Chronicle binders.
Just to clear things up:
Macross Chronicle: 2008-2010
Macross Chronicle Revised Ed.: 2013-2014
At the time of writing, I am unaware of any plans to extend, continue, or reprint that publication.

If they are more seal than cat, he could be much larger than a female of the same age.

I believe that is the VF-1 "Red Herring"

In Japan, where Macross is made, same sex couples are not a political issue. Neither do they include LGBT content in Anime to be progressive. Its normal and accepted by mainstream entertainment.
-
Same sex couples are very common on prime time TV here in Japan. Even post op transsexuals show up with very little fuss. You even have LBGT hosts on childrens shows here. It is a very different climate compared to the US.
-
No problem, it was easy, first page on google image search.
That bottom one's it! Thanks!

He did something like that in AKB0048.
Honestly, I'm flat amazed that Kawamori resisted the temptation to include a cyborg in Macross Frontier who had a gun or two stashed away inside their limbs... the blade Brera has is frankly low-key compared to some of the stuff in Ghost in the Shell, for instance.

Valkyrie (and Regult) Girls started appearing in doujinshi in 1983. Sorry NSFW cant post pics here.
Macross F 2059: Memories
http://monkeybacon.mywebcommunity.org/OTmiscbooks.php#MFWent back and re-translated some rather atrocious parts, and then went and did a whole bunch of new parts in the book!
I was really surprised about a couple of things:
The first being that the book questions if the Vajra are individual organisms or what amounts to remotely operated weapons. Interesting.
The second were the 'Link Points' - little vignettes about the connections between Macross F and previous series. Most interesting was the one about Super Pack equipped Kuran. And here I thought that it was merely ridiculously over the top fan service!
-
Even more significant is the specific one he wanted to get rid of was love. The sponsors don't want it to get too grim and gritty
Interesting that Kawamori is the one that wants to drop one of the three pillers (mecha, love triangle and music) But the sponsors want it kept in.

yes, but its from Japan, so shipping will be higher and you will also need a proxy buyer.
