  1. I have had the same idea as well but the thing that get me is that I can't figure a way around the ground erosion problem in gerwalk. With those engines pointed right at the ground the superheated exhaust would be doing a whole lot of damage and in the episode 21 alone there are two scenes with VFs in vertical flight near the ground and right next to people as well. Also had the idea of the propellant/reaction mass/fuel, whatever you want to can it being supercooled and used for coolant itself. (I seem to remember that the SR-71 used its fuel to help manage the heat at high speed)
  2. As for her reactions to all the deaths I think that at some point most people run out of emotions, at least on the outside. And to not giving a reason to why she would not sing when Leon asked her to, given all that she went through along with finding out that Ozma is missing I think that a 'No' works just fine, sometimes you just can't put what needs to said into words. Look at it this way if asked how many people think that Alto and Luca would have put on their EX-Gear and put on a flight demo for the people right after losing Micheal. If it was for Michael, something along the lines of the missing man formation they'd do it, but just if they were asked to?
  3. Not saying it's a bad way to check out, maybe just a little early for Alto.
  4. I don't know if that would such a great idea, remember the little sing off those two had? As competitive as they seem to be Alto may not live to tell the tail. (and yes that one Futurama episode popped to mind you know the one, the whole 'death by Snoo-Snoo' thing)
  5. Major Focker I didn't mean to say that we should have no idea whats going on just that the characters should not have the whole big picture going into the end, and you're right about the last episode having that feel maybe that's what got me thinking about it.
  6. I agree with that and I'll back ya up if they come with the rope wolfx!
  7. After having watched so may shows and movies (everything, not just anime) where the good guys figure everything out and rush to save the day. I would kinda like to see a ending in where Alto and company DON'T fully know whats going on and they only get to see if they made the right choices once its all over. Also looking forward to a dark ending, not black as in moonless night in a coal mine or anything like that, maybe something along the lines of The Empire Strikes Back. And Graham as to Does this mean that when Macross is all said and done the center of the galaxy is going to be one big BBQ pool party in space? If so then all I can say is... sweet!
  8. If we look at her age and the way in which she was brought up, became a celebrity then dropped into a pivotal role in a war, I think that so far they are doing a fine job of bringing along Ranka as a character. Does that mean that I would want to be buds with this girl... no. After the last scene with Alto I think that she is just running away but just happened to find a reason to do so first. Does any of this make her a bad person, not to me as she sang in combat, and again when the Vajra first started attacking in the island and once more knowing full well that she sitting atop a WMD. Ranka has done just about all that has been asked of her. However as we near the end(?) she should be coming to point that will define just who she is and I'll try to save my judgment until then.
  9. Until I learn Japanese I have to go with dub, saves me from having to stop and go back a few times to get what is going on in some scenes. Although even if I had Frontier dubbed right now I would still watch it all a few times (at least) anyway.
  10. As to why the packs are not atmospheric capable it may be due to problems of carrying the packs themselves. If you look at the drop tanks used by aircraft today only about half of the fuel is useful in giving more range as the rest is needed just to compensate for the drag and weight of the tank itself. So maybe it comes down to the drag and weight of the packs and it was found not to be efficient or viable. My understanding about having the intakes closed while in the islands is that the engines do not need air, but use it as a reaction mass. So while they have the intakes closed the Valkyrie would be using more fuel to compensate for the loss of air. (and maybe come close to overheating as well)
  11. Ranka, Sheryl, paper airplane As all this goes on we see Alto curled up in his rack aboard the Quarter holding his hair, 'my precious' (figures why not, I'll jump in as well )
  12. Just watched 21 subbed and I have to say that it was great, I really felt for the guys. The photo in the helmet was a tearjerker and the park scene with Alto and Ranka was perfect. For all those who say Alto should have put two into Ai kun you have to remember that Ranka was right in front of him and even the muzzle blast alone can do damage if not outright kill (at least in the real world). You know what, in the end I really could see Alto and Klan becoming close friends if not more in the end. Oh and someone really needs to put a Valkyrie sized boot up Leon's a**, man I hate him and his 'Evil Moe' hair.
  13. So what about the SDF-4? Not trying to start any fights, but that one sure transforms.
  14. I'd past out Dimension Eaters with Bio Neural Chips as door prizes if that meant banning Basara! Back on topic I like the idea it being a weaponized fold system.
  15. Yeah grss1982 I think you're right about those being missile launchers, kinda look like the ones from the 25's armor packs. As to those other packs mounted on the back on the 171 it kinda reminds me of what guys were doing in WWII, you know all the field mods on planes and tanks. I can just picture some crew chief down in the Battle Frontier hanger deck going "more duct tape!" (maybe has 'Ripley' for a last name)
  16. Okay I see where you're going with this and I agree in part but for now I still think that what we are seeing is extremely high G maneuvering and such. I could very well be wrong too. Do like what you have to say though, helps me kept an open mind.
  17. Never meant to imply that you were, I just try to toss out ideas. We don't see Zentradi SWAT teams so I'm just trying think why, I do see your point and it would make a great episode to see VFs, destroids and Zentradi going through a test montage like from M+ (even Rocky had a montage, sorry sorry had to say it) It is never my plan to come out say something like 'You're wrong!' or anything like that, to me this is all just ideas, theories and fun. So if I seem to miss the point sometimes (been known to happen) call me on it.
  18. It has been my understanding that a Pugachev's Cobra means that an aircraft pulls 90°–120° angle of attack, then back down to zero, while the plane maintains a straight and level flight throughout the maneuver. I know that what the 27 did does not count because he gets the nose up then shoots upward above the 25, but it was closest thing that I could think of at the time.
  19. While having full up Zentran combat teams to protect the islands may seem like a good idea it may also cause some problems. First if a VF or destroid takes a few too hits the pilot pulls the little yellow and black handle and ejects (do destroids have ejection seats?). Some may feel that using a Zentran in this way may be kinda derogatory, like using a Zentran as a cheap UCAV substitute. Also you would have to add in the medical side, only other macro Zentraedi would be able to aid a fallen Zentran. In episode 20 (tossed that behind the old spoiler bar just to be safe!)
  20. I'm with you on that, I was just saying that the VF-27 was made specifically for cyborg pilots and would most likely have systems tailored for them.
  21. I don't know if it has something along the lines of what you are thinking. After just having looked over that move a few dozen times to me it looks like a cobra only done far faster than Alto's. Maybe that was what shocked Alto, if the 25 is top of the line and here comes something pulling a move with more Gs than any human should be able to do, I'd say WTF too. But who knows what the VF-27 has tucked in that airframe, you could be right.
  22. I'm with Mellow Yellow on this, KMPlayer has worked real well for me too.
  23. It's looks like he's chewing a big wad of gum in this one
  24. Sorry I missed the point on that guys. As Master Dex was saying maybe this is the reason why we see VFs flying in space in the manner they do as to how it's shown on BSG with the Vipers. With a cyborg at the stick of the 27s I think that a whole lot of cross controlling of the vectoring nozzles is going on, with maybe each engine pointing in a different direction for some maneuvers. I can't figure this all out yet (not a cyborg space fighter pilot) I'll have to mess with this some more.
