Thanks! I saw that @jenius reviewed some Takara's a couple of month ago which where the ones I had when I was younger.... Maybe he'll get some HM'R and let us know how they are!?

Since I hade some Scope Dogs when I was younger, I was wandering how good are the Hi-MetalR versions from Bandai? Are they worth collecting or is there something better out there?

Bandai 2002 Chunky Monkey reissue there where 7 different versions released between 2002/4 The one on the left is an old Takatoku/Bandai and the one on the right is the rerelease....

So a question for those like me hoping for a VF-1A or J Mass Production version, Would you prefer the lighter or darker version of this bird? The series wasn't very colour consistent back then, with pictures of darker or lighter brown versions... Since the original 1/55 Chunky Monkey was pretty dark, the High Metal R is light in comparison I do hope they do the Brown Thrusters/Feet on the DX version when they release it! What are you're thoughts on this?

Although this year has been eventful with VF-1 releases, 3 for 2024. Its sad that other then the Ostrich we got basically two remakes and one was a fantasy model, this year could have been better! but at least it was better then 2022 where we got nothing at all! Hope they hit us with something at the Tamashii event on the 15th of November, Still think the Elintseeker might be next!? and then get back to releasing new stuff in 2025! 🤔I'm also hope full to eventually getting a Cannon Fodder sometime soon...

I honestly think they didn't think these things through in 1982-84, they just wanted to get the show with all the episodes needed out there! And could finish off the fine detail. Today you would do things differently since a lot of people have internet and can do some research to look things up. but a lot of mistakes with numbers, names, and small details where made back then.... Would have also thought that since it's the 40th Anna of D.Y.R.L. Bandai would have used it to finish off the Skull Squadron at least!? But the love to torture us! 😈

So according to this, the Macross Bandai DX Chogokin 1/48 VF-1J Valkyrie (Hikaru Ichijo) "Macross Since 1982" edition will be available on the 15th, of November and come in a red box...!?

I also have the VT-1 mounted without the backpack brace, the boosters will hold onto the backpack with the pegs in both the backpack and middle backpack booster. I wouldn't pick up the the VT-1 using the boosters though!

I think the design idea for the 2 seat in step up seating position was taken back in 1984 from the Suchoi Su-27 wich was the only fighter that had this kind of seat configuration back then.

Figure King 319 isn't bad either, almost 40 pages on D.Y.R.L. 40th Anna, with some nice interviews and toy info.... Sadly nothing new presented though.

It doesn't really say Anniversary on the stand, but just since 1982, Although it would have been great if they included a chunky monkey for comparison! and yes they could have done any other Valkerie, too celebrate Macross since 1982! Instead of the third release of this bird!? But I think Bandai just wants to torture their customers at the moment! 😈

Someone posted a video of the 40th Anna. Macros Vf-1J, from this I can't tell a difference too the launch version!? other then the stand or AMM-1's guess we will see in November?

By the way, are we really sure that this VF-1J, November release is going to be a different shade of white? from this picture it sure looks like the regular release!? 🤔

I actually don't use the clips either. I'm just glad that mine all came in perfect condition as well. Sure was a long wait since the announcement last November, but glad I finally have a Super Ostrich back in my collection...🤗 @no3Ljm I'm actually still liking my VF-1D the most, but maybe cause I always wanted one in my collection, and I already had the VT-1!? 🤔 Oh, and I also removed the backpack clip on the VT-1, this gives the backpack boosters a better angle. 😉
