  1. Super VF-1S is still totally badass, and is probably my favorite. But I'm also a huge fan of the VF-4 and VF-11, and hoping that Hase pays them some attention.
  2. I would love a Hase VF-11........but I'd love a VF-4 even more! I'd like a Yamato VF-11 with the correct sized fast packs........
  3. Am I the only one who wants a 'normal' posed Agent Smith for my desk? Instead I get kung-fu man......Is that really so much to ask?
  4. I like the mysterious ending, that they just lost contact. In the age of sail, when europe was exploring the new world and such how many ships just never came back? I'd imagine it'd be much the same in space. Also, its nice that there's a definitive end (point) to the story, something you don't tend to see much of anymore.
  5. Ain't that the truth? November's almost here....
  6. I just lurk at RT.Com. Not much worthwhile discussion seems to go on, and I don't like the terms of use overly much. Mostly I just hope to see something new over there like on RT04 (or as someone over there dubbed it Robotech-Believe It When I See It). Plus I don't think its worth bragging about to have been booted. There's been enough trouble from both sides of the fandom (excepting of course people who have been booted for their sometimes ridiculous TOU), which typically only causes headaches for Shawn.
  7. I don't think so. As I understand it, what will happen in the courts is that someone will prove who owns the rights, info which has not been made public. Whether BW or HG wins, no actual transference of rights will occur, just a clarification. Am I right?
  8. Yeah seriously Murph. They should really find a better place to store all their plastic explosives than behind all the control panels.
  9. Just realized another one: When one of your comrades, coworkers, or crewmembers mysteriously stops answering you while they're in a vent shaft, air duct, or jefferies tube do not go in looking for them!
  10. Whats weird is that I was in Best Buy today, and they had Southern Cross and Genesis Climber in their anime section, but I never saw SDF there.....Why?
  11. I don't know dude. I'm reposting something I found and posted in the Other section, but didn't get much attention there. Basically it looks like the first step towards the BDS. Monkeys can do it! The human brain is incredibly complex, and piloting an aircraft is the art of multi-tasking perfected. I think that eventually pilots would be able to adapt to this new technology.....which could be a lot sooner than we think.
  12. Then he's just as much of a 'blockhead' as the UN Spacy types he's so quick to judge. It seems that you have two groups of people with the same attitude- the other one just doesn't "get" it, so why bother explaining it. Thats a great way to act 'enlightened'. I don't like any mecha that has a face. Well......maybe Gigantor, but thats it. All I know is Basara would've been a great candidate for friendly fire. In the end though, more Macross is never an entirely bad thing, and there were definately some cool things to come out of 7 (Full-armor VF-11 for one). So as long as it doesn't become the dominant tone of Macross more power to you if you like it.
  13. Whiskey, I'd assume that it'd be pretty safe to pick up the Blade movies (unless you really care about extras). I'd assume that there's not gonna be a super extended cut after the third one comes out. Terminator though, that I agree you should wait on.
  14. That guy in the white suit with the blue hair kinda looks like Ricardo Montabaln (sp?).
  15. If you haven't read the books there may be a SPOILER ahead........................ The only way I would pick up the uber set in a heartbeat would be if the scouring of the shire was in there, and not in the extended cut. BTW, I'm only picking up the extended cuts without the bookends.
  16. Huh? What exactly are you asking? If I understand you correctly, no not all Robotech toys have the UN Spacy (aka the RDF 'fighting kite'), only the Macross saga products do. In fact, the Mospeada mecha are marked with rather prominent at times Mars Base logos instead of REF insignia. I might get one of these but definately not for 80 bucks.........
  17. I prefer the original over 7 as well. Seven was too corny for me....and by quantifying the cultural effects into Spirita robbed it of some of the philosophical attributes I saw in the first. Someday I'll write that paper on Macross and Nietzsche......really I will........
  18. I'm gonna buy the extended versions individually-i'm skipping the theater cut releases. I don't know if I'd pick up an uber-box .... there'd have to be a pretty compelling reason to.
  19. Lemme see if I got this straight.....she wants out of X-men to do movies like this?
  20. Wow, cobywan.....our views on Trek and aparently B5 are exactly the same. I'm hoping they release all 7 seasons of DS9 in one big box set. Sundown, the article on the site said that Rodenberry was slowly forced to relinquish some control of the franchise by the networks and studios. They pointed to ST II as being one of the projects that he had to let others work on. I'm not suggesting that they die, just move on to other projects and let new blood take control of the franchise. UN................eh. Although a return to the 'planet of the week' scenario isn't necessarily a bad thing, I just don't think its being well written. I don't get the sense that this is really humanity's first few steps into space. It feels the same as TOS when they were an established, large interstellar civilization. (Except now they throw a line in like "Wow, this is so new to us!") Also, the never before mentioned war with the new species and this expanse where the laws of physics don't work......I'm not buying that. There's just no need. They had the Klingons and the Romulans which was plenty of great material to work with. I'm not a slave to continuity, but theres no reason to make a massive change here. And I wasn't buying that stupid temporal cold war on Voy either. Not to say that there weren't things I liked. I loved the first few eps with the Klingons (seeing that cap say 'I can see my house from here' was priceless). I thought the Nausicaan episode was cool too, and more along the lines of how the series should go. I also like this Vulcan/Andorian cold war they thought of, and loved the episode where it turned out that the monastery was a Vulcan listening post. Oh well...........shoulda, woulda, coulda.......
  21. Well, I have to agree with coby....i didn't think a lot of those eps were great. Besides, most rational fans don't dispute that B+B did great things for TNG. Most people are just saying that they need to give it up and move on...........after all Roddenberry had to do the same, why doesn't that apply to these two? Also, Voyager was painful to watch, and I've given up on Enterprise and I'm not that nit-picky.....the show just has lazy writers.
  22. I have that version, and I believe that its not edited.....but I could be wrong. Either way, loads of fun to watch for the Major's Clint Eastwood impression.
  23. It looks alright......I don't know though...I'll have to wait and see. The shoulders always look a little too broad for me and the head a little too small. Plus $20 yammies at HLJ are really tempting.
  24. Jack Archer is from Robotech:Battlecry the PS2, XB, GC game.
  25. Just saw this story and thought I'd post it.....could this be the first step towards the neuro-helmets of Battletech, Guld's BDI, or the 'thinking caps' of (McKinney's) Robotech? Definately something to keep an eye on. News Story Here
