  1. is the DX really worth the price? i still think they made too many mistakes for that price range...
  2. totally agree! i felt exactly the same way, and frankly, i am still feeling that way
  3. hmm i wanted to do that too, but dont think i wil in the end... an RVF protected by ghosts is a really cool concept need all 3 so i can call them simon, peter, john!!! haha "' wonder if they'll ever have ghost-V9 kits available? anyway so far, i'm really happy with the frontier 1/72 kit product line
  4. me too, although it did take me sometime to get over the scale problem (wish they were 1/60 :'( ) looking forward to michel's vf-25G and klan's Q-rea, they chouldnt be together on the show, but they'll be together forever on my display

    yamato's next move

Yamato, please please give me a VF-22S, let it be a aegis focker scheme i dont mind (since you dont have the mac seven license) please... a VF-22S.. by this year... 2009... please
  6. a bit off topic but still about the 1j, is why did yamato make the 1/48 max and miria fast packs customized (blue and red)? i mean on the show, all i remember was that they were not customized, but the same generic grey: if they really dont have to be customized, that means max and miria can be sold as standalones w/o fast packs, which would be easier on our pockets
  7. i'm all for the alaskan greenie too! (wanted it since i was 26 years old)
  8. i wonder what beat the vf-4 to the list... since yamato cant be getting the frontier license in the near future, i really hope yamato gets at least the M7 license, as vf-22s are really the ones i have been waiting for all along... otherwise, judging from the licenses yamato has right now (zero, DYRL/SDF, plus) the most exciting stuff for me might be: vf-0b vf-0c vf-0d and... yf-21 repaints? what else can u guys think of?
  9. did anyone complain about the tailfins for the yf-21 when it came out? in the 1/60 yamato toy its also smaller than what was in the lineart. anyway to me, the lineart vf-11b tailfins are a bit oversized. the smaller fins suits me just fine. but mine will be having super parts on most of the time anyway so not a prob for me.
  10. many people here forget that the VF-25 mecha design was done with the transformation for the toy already in mind. BUT as for the rest: VF-1, YF-19, YF-21, VF-11B all were designed with little regard for a transformation process that can be made into a toy. and also probably people will argue about the case for the VF-0 and SV-51, but i see no denying that there's still that "anime magic" happenning in the SV-51 to achieve those battroid limb proportions. with these points in mind, isnt it obvious that designing an accurate and durable VF-25 toy for a toy company, is much easier than designing a VF-1/YF-19/YF-21/VF-11B and even the VF-0/SV-51? i really wonder why the bandai DX vf-25 suffers so much in terms of accuracy. there is simply no denying a better job could have been done. just look at the model kit vf-25 and i dont even have to say more. that's why probably graham's story about the china design team makes sense. "let yamato take the job" i'd say.
  11. i prefer it blue too. in my books, only roy deserves a black heat shield, marking the one and only original skull leader. hikaru and max should only get red and blue respectively.
  12. wow this is great! latest pics of the vf-1D ...that hikaru pilot fig... still kinda acceptable but... is THAT going to be the minmay fig we're getting... sure hope that aint the final mod...

    POM

wow thanks for the informative posts guys, i was very curious too gosh when i saw the thread title i was sooo expecting an SDK post somewhere here
  14. i think there shouldnt be any debate on the colour of max vf-1s heat shield, its blue just look at the yamato product page photos. yamato's blog mentioning it to be black may just be a typo. and if we're referring to that macross chronicles cover, then we might as well say the head lasers are white :S anyway, i'm only getting the max vf-1j if and when it comes out... none other
  15. gotta agree with the previous 2 posts it aint rocket science to build these model kits, but do it carefully and lovingly to get the best results
  16. after holding and playing with the DX (my friend's purchase, not mine) i have to agree, bandai is a step behind, maybe even more than a step. but the 1/72 model kit is so awesome, i'm collecting them all unless the announce a 1/60 model kit line.
  17. i'd definitely buy one, even if it doesnt come with the super parts and hikaru pilot... it is a must get for me been waiting for the TV roy pilot eversince 1/48
  18. hi dudes! js wondering if anyone here is still doing these 1/72 vf-1 bandai transformable kits, any comments/reviews about them?
  19. holy smokes this is awesome! really great job
  20. i used the normal stickers (the type where you DONT have to dip it into water to peel it off) i dont have any experience with the water slide decals and did not dare to use them also, i used mr. hobby's clear blue paint for the canopy and sensors except for the stickers on the wings that go all the way from the wing's tip to the joints, i put all my stickers on after i completed the build.
  21. great work alfye! valkyries always looked good with diorama. i am really feeling good about this whole 1/72 vf-25 range now, just finished my alto valk
  22. at first i was thinking WTF about this thread, but after some thought, i'm gonna give my full support to this thread! This aint about the toy, its about the character i think alto, mikhail and hikaru are my favourite heroes/characters in macross, while isamu is my least favourite...
  23. @@ holy cow i never seen those before!!
  24. so far for all vf-1 1/60 ver2 yamatos, the 'no step' markings are all stickers yup you hav to do them all yourself
