  1. Changed to reflect the Star Trek the Next Generation Pilot As a Star Trek mini-series, it sucked. As an (un)original sci-fi story it was OK. The SFX were good. But the story & characters were not interesting at all. I still prefer the original over this "re-imagining", cheesy acting, flaws & all. If they make this Mini Series into a weekly show I feel that it will mature with time and the characters will grow stronger just like the Next Generation did when it first was released. Give it time and it will get better.
  2. Well said Star Dragon, I feel the same way. I have been a fan a BSG since it came out in the 70's. I was hyping myself up for disappointment because of the redesign of the Viper, Helmets, and the Galactica it's self and as I sat down to watch it, I liked it. You see more of the civilian side of Galactica. The references to the old didn't bother me and it left the door open for the possibility of seeing the Old Cylons in their current role. The old Vipers in the show were Mark II Vipers so they may show a Mark I later if the movie is turned into a show. All in all I like both the old and new BSG Just like I like Robotech and Macross. One I grew up with and the other I found later. All that is needed here is for everyone to have an open mind and to wait and see. Scot
  3. OT comes from both Eglin and Nellis. Here is the info straight from www.af.mil OT F-15A/B/C/E, F-16A/C U.S. Air Force Air Warfare Center, Nellis AFB, Nev. (ACC) OT F-15A/B/C/D/E, F-16A/B/C/D 53rd WG, Eglin AFB, Fla. (ACC) The Red Boots are there to keep Rain, birds, bolts, rocks, and bugs from getting in there. If you want to see that engine just come over to Dayton, Ohio and goto the U.S. Air Force Museum. They have one sitting next to the YF-22 on display
  4. I have a photo of my Cyclone Armor somewhere. If I find it I'll post it. Scot
  5. Well, Here it is. I've had this model since 1989
  6. And Another And Another And Another
  7. Ebay Iron Giant If you got the cash, Here it is.
  8. Here is a couple photos of the before referred to SR-71 that I sanded off the raised panel lines. I hope this will sway you to sanding off the panel lines and not rescribing. If you were to reduce the size of the real aircraft to 1/72 scale the panel lines would be very fine to the point that they would almost be invisible. I would understand rescribing the lines if it were 1/32 or 1/24 but 1/48 and 1/72 would be way to fine. Consider this, If you had a 1/4 inch gap between the panels of an aircraft at 1/72 scale that gap would be 0.003472 of an inch wide. In other words Way to fine to bother scribing. Hope this helps Scot
  9. I just went to Monkey-N web page and I am speachless. WOW! I love the 1/72 Monster as well as the Zentraedi ships but what are the prices of the other kits or are they to be announced later. I would really like to know what the price of the Tread is. Scot
  10. Anytime, But Trust me when I say that if a model has raised panel lines it's best to sand them off and polish the plastic before you paint it to remove the sand scratches. I also recommend that you paint it with either gloss paint or if you can't find gloss paint in the color you need use a gloss clear coat over the Matt paint so that the decal will adhere to the model without frosting over. Then use a Clear Flat coat on top. And one last thing, Use BARE METAL FOIL to mask off your windows. It's the best thing to mask off with. It let's you see the frame of the canopy and it conforms to everything. Scot
  11. Is this the kit you have? P-3 Orion Scot
  12. I feel that raised panel lines should be sanded off and then the plastic polished to remove the sand scratches. If you were to enlarge the model to full scale the panel lines would be HUGE!!! But if you took a real aircraft and reduce it to let's say 1/72 scale the panel lines would hardly be visable. I built a 1/48 scale SR-71 and sanded the panel lines off and the finish was beautiful. Scot
  13. Here is a screen shot of the game and I think the GALACTICA is the same in the show. As for the CYLON's I think they will look Human.
  14. If they could have taken the old design and added more modern details like the afterburners of the new design and a more modern cockpit avionics LCD screens etc. they would have a winner. Of all the things that will cause me not to watch the show it would be the GALACTICA. If they don't hold true to the GALACTICA design all is lost.
  15. The Primary Blade openings are oval. How do they spin in the intake when it's not circular? I also think they need the old canopy. Other than those two gripes they look OK.
  16. My Father was a B-52 Tail Gunner for 12 years during the Cold War and Vietnam. We were stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB, Kinchelo AFB, and Castle AFB before he retired. The D Model is my all time favorite although my Dad flew in the H model mostly. I still have my Dad's flight helmet.
  17. B-52 Glider (IT'S HUGE!!!!!! Check this guy out if you want to build an R/C B-52. Their B.U.F. (BIG UGLY F****R) not B.U.F.F. (Big Ugly Fat Fellow like the media wants everyone to think.) Is huge but has no engines. Even though it's a D model it's beautiful.
  18. We someone to contact MikeRB to see if there is any updates to his CG Film. Anyone know how to get hold of him? Scot
  19. Actually, I feel that since they massacred the original story line on how Aliens were to get to earth I think this is better than nothing. After ALIENS the Sulako was to make it to Earth and Ripley was to wake up to a Military Nightmare where the Government is turning the Alien into a Super Soldier. The Aliens were to run wild and then the Earth was to call on the last remaining Predators to clean then up. Since Alien3 and Resurrection both destroyed the possibility of the original story line let's just wait and see.
  20. I found this mecha on Robotbits.com Anyone know what show it's from? Scot
  21. I was going through all the crap I saved as a kid and came across a 1988 Robotech Calendar. That was one of the screen shots and I thought it might have been Hikaru (Rick) and Misa (Lisa Hayes). They look real close to those characters. Scot
  22. I don't know what series this picture is from but the guy looks alot like Hikaru. Anyone know for sure? Scot
  23. Noel, Thanks for selling me the IMAI 1/72 DESTROID SPARTAN. When I get it finished I'll post photos. Also, PLEASE!! get the BLACK ACES' ONLINE HOBBY STORE up and running. Scot
