  1. Your sig is cool, and what would your work be without the camel toe! How can I get one? Brilliant Ryuji. Absolutely brilliant.

    Next Project

Ryuji, if you plan on basing the Komilla on that Aina, it's gonna sweet! I can't wait!
  3. Goodness! You're nearing the end of this project. I can't wait to order one!

    VF-1N

Looks neat. I question whether any jet would be able to land in water. But a great job. Well executed.
  5. There are many methods to sculpt. I've seen a lot of guys use the same method as Ryuji. It's a lot of sanding, so you must have the deepest commitment to the project. As long as his results remain so great, I wouldn't ask Ryuji to change a thing. I have some of his other kits. All great stuff. I bow before your greatness! Now where's that pre-order button?
  6. Your finishes are so smooth. Wow.
  7. I love it already, Ryuji! How soon can I pre-order one?
  8. That looks like a very different resin than was used on my booster. I think I need to plunk down some extra $$$ now.
  9. One of the guys from my club uses rag resume paper and uses a black pen and a ruler to make lines on it and it turns out looking very convincing. He usually mounts it on foam core. For small change you can make a decent looking base.
  10. Keep your eyes on www.hobbyfan.com. I think they will be making an announcement about this kit soon. Technically this would be an original casting, not a recast. I've been a fan of Ryuji's for quite a while. I have some of his other kits: Glory, Fairchild, etc... A wealth of talent there!
  11. Fancy meeting you here Tuff. I love the richness of the red. Nice work on a small scale.
  12. The rail looks great to me, and I don't think that you need to have a raffle to inspire people to get their orders in early. This thing is going to sell itself.
  13. I think I put my opinions too close to eachother. The ones who complain about the recasts usually don't have the licenses. But in Japan nothing gets made without a license. But the stuff from Japan isn't meant for our market.
  14. I think that's 1/170 scale. They had a ton of those sold seperately in different shapes and forms, IE: in mini factory scenes and in the US they were sold in 2 packs on the mecha in the robotech boxes, or singly from japan, etc. They are stiff, and it takes a lot of work to make these look good. If you want it for the diorama base, skip it. The island base is pretty stupid.
  15. Looks good to me. When are you expecting it to be ready amd what are you planning to charge?
  16. Gorgeous. When can we start shipping our money off for one?
  17. No matter how you cut it, recasting is stealing. It's like bootleg movies and stuff like that. Frequently in the modeling circles many of these kits aren't licensed anyway. So a recaster is usually stealing from a thief in the first place. Then people complain about the recasters? Hypocrisy. SO, if someone creates a kit and stops making it they are showing that they have no interest in making it available to the fans. And like it's said above, I'd call it fair game. PLUS, keep in mind that those resin kits from Japan aren't supposed to be available outside of Japan. I've gotten plenty of resin that says on the box "Not for sale outside of Japan." So I have NO PROBLEM with that stuff being recast. Crank 'em out with a clear conscience. As long as you are willing to deal with the casting process and the resin fumes, lots of luck and be safe.
  18. That stinks that you had to start from scratch. Will you complete the 1/48? How's your progress?
  19. I've judged online contests for another forum, and I have to hand it to cwmodels and the hobbyfan staff. Their "points system" is brilliant. I may need to employ a similar system in contests I judge in the future. Points aside, the main thing about judging is that what's considered good is very subjective. Calling anyone a moron for their personal taste is uncalled for. Judging is a hard job, and if you have a better method Slamdunk, perhaps you can map it out for us all. In addition, how do you know the credentials of the panel of judges? I happen to know there are expert modelers on that staff using basic IPMS criteria to do their job. If there is a better way, we could all use some enlightening. ~baxojayz
  20. Very impressive work. I saw this through the Hobbyfan.com link. Great step by step! ~baxojayz
