Hey sqidd, I just got the HLJ, 50% off 1/48 Max VF1 Super's shipping notice... you're right, I probably don't know alot about Yamato... but I can guess who got the shorter end of Yamato's raw deal... I don't pity Yamato one bit but the retailers who carry their stuff.

I don't know about Yamato being greedy; I know I'm definitely greedy. I usually read reviews from many people and wait for prices to drop before buying any Yamato product. I don't really practice this habit a lot with other companies, but experience has taught me to do it especially with Yamato products, and it has worked out well to my advantage. If Yamato prices don't drop, c'est la vie... life goes on. Edit:- But prices did drop on most of Yamato's items... it happens when a company concedes that they were probably a little too greedy? and that they are no longer in control of people's purse strings due to less than favorable reviews. Bless the internet for that!

What I would like to know is if it'll yellow again after the initial dip... will it take months? / 1 year later? / or many years later? If the result is the latter, this could be worthwhile after all! Please let us know how it goes!

S'okay, I got tons of yellowed toys that I would like to see with a happy, new year sheen. I just love them too much to shorten their lives.

1) Hydrogen Peroxide is acid right? 2) What the diluted H2O2 is doing is basically eat/wash away the top most surface area of plastic that is exposed to air, right? 3) Which leads to... shrinkage! Not only will the toy yellow faster after a H2O2 bath, too many dips will shrink it? 4) It also make the plastic brittle right? Please confirm these questions as I'm no chemist, but I know enough that Hydrogen Peroxide is commonly used as an extreme cleaning agent, but was also used by the Russians as torpedo propellant... I don't want my toys to go like the Kursk.

Personally, I feel they should scrap the idea of making anything Macross exclusive. They don't directly benefit retailers, they certainly will cause extra money & trouble for the collectors who want them. If their rationale for this, is that the products don't well (if not exclusive), they shouldn't bother making them at all. Or if they are looking to boost their brand equity through this exercise, we'll hate them more for it instead. Exclusives be damned.

Yeah, May'N's manager was most unwilling to accommodate small requests from her fans. Pity, cuz that's part of why they are there for in the first place. The manager prevented her from giving out personalized autograph whenever he can and was caught for the double standard with people. Also, it seems to me that even May'N has to look to him for decision on every little things pertaining interacting with fans. Really sad... when she could have learned to take little liberties and be more approachable like Ichirou Mizuki.

Let's not get ahead of yourself. Just because Yamato charges you more doesn't mean you won't get a melty Valkyrie sweating sticky substances after a similar exposure. If anything, you're not as carefree with a valkyrie as you would with a Bumble bee. I look at Transformers and the Yamato Valkyries the same because they're Plastic, Plastic, Plastic. If you say they're different grades of plastic, I'd say let's put them out to the summer heat and see. If we generally consider Takara cheaper just because they're huge and sell vast quantities, why should we spare Yamato that benefit of doubt? And if Yamato really does manufacture small qtys... the QC misses and the design faults actually compound their predicament and confirms them as really incompetent of their ambition.

Well, the initial post sounded like Overdrive was pulling a fast one.

I'd tell the credit card company to stop the payment before anything else.
