  1. So far I've found that the Hong Kong sellers on Ebay have the best prices and best packaging. I've used ToyWave too and he has excellent service.
  2. Almost done with my custom. Just completed the tail emblems this afternoon, now I need to find these shark mouths and I'm done.
  3. Another thing that helped remove the skull emblem onthe heatshield was toothpaste. Not only did it wipe it clean but it gave a new polished and clean finish on the heatshield. Thootpaste is probably the finest abrasive you can find on the market.
  4. Yes, That's the one I just removed paint from. The decal was set under the heashield and then painted over therefore it is still glossy form the outside clear plastic. Oui, C'est celui que j'ai décapé. le decalque a été posé a l'intérieur c'est donc pour cela que le pare chaleur est luisant.
  5. Hehe ! Just wanted to show off my new custom heatshield for my new low viz squadron the "Z" Creepers. I am in the process of doing custom tailfins too that I will post later... Enjoy !
  6. So here it is, I just couldn't wait to get it done so I haven't taken a picture of the clear unpainted heashield (who wants to see that really ?) but I am posting the new custom heatshield with a pinup girl to creep up the zentraedis... LoL !
  7. Well why didn't you say so earlier ? I've been looking and asking all over the place for at least 2 years
  8. Oh ! Forgot to add. If you use this product to remove paint on diecast, DO NOT forget your parts in the solution overnight because it will apparently eat the metal... Strangely enough, it leaves plastic intact but not metal, go figure.
  9. Hi guys, There's been a question that was asked here in these forums many times and I found the answer so I tought I'd share it with you customizers. How to remove paint on the 1/48 heatshield without destoying the clear plastic finish ? Some said break fluid but it melts the plastic Some said use some sanding grit and polish the thing I just found out that an oven cleaning product called "Easyoff" removes paint without destroying plastic. I just left my two spare tail fins and heatshield in the gel solution for about an hour and with a plain toothbrush, the paint that colors the back of the heatshield and the tail fins came off without any efforts. The paint used for the skulls is a bit more resistant so I'll let it soak for the night and remove it tomorrow. I'll post pictures of the perfectly clear heatshield then. Try it, beleive me it works magic.
  10. If they redo the Low viz, one thing I'd really like to see is no squadron markings on the heatshield and no tail fin color and a sticker sheet full of optional squadrons. Now that would rock !
  11. What would be nice to see is more non OVA variants in common military color schemes like maybe a desert camouflage or a dark charcoal color like some F-15's.
  12. Thank you for the kind words! Glad to be of service Best Regards, Tamim I gotta say I am pretty impressed too. Tam is one of the best Etailer I've dealt with in a while. He keeps you informed, gives you updates on your shipments, actualy responds to emails... Great job Twinmoons
  13. I just hope they are goint to be greyish blue cause they'd fit much better on my low viz than the DYRL fastpacks. Can't wait to get mine.
  14. OMG !!! This thing is totaly insane ! you have talent my friend, I too will order one when it is ready.
  15. Hey one more question Takatoys, Do you have any plans to produce a sticker sheet for the VF-1J ?. I won't touch mine before I get a set of your stickers for sure (not that I have received it yet...) Thanks
  16. I removed the weathering from my low viz with a clean cloth and simple lighter fluid and it worked like a charm. It removed everything but the panel lines paint which is perfect IMO. For the heatshield, I have no clue how to remove it but I'd sure like to know...
  17. My feeling is that this thing was made with the following: -Styrene sheets and tubes -Kitbashed parts from a 1/72 super valk kit -1/72 Hasegawa battroid kit -Kitbashed parts from multiple car, tanks an aicraft kits. Some of these parts are just too fancy to have been made with Styrene alone, they must have come from other kits.
  18. Hi, I just ordered the VF-1J with the fastpack from a HK seller 2 days ago and I started thinking, is the fastpack grey or green like the ones from DYRL. From the pics I saw, they are like grey/blue. Anyways if they are grey, I'll probably use them on my VF-1A low viz too. Did any of you see it for real ?
  19. OMFG !!! One more thing I will be dying to see... Damn you Kawamori !
  20. There is actualy a fix for the weak hands. You just need to insert a small piece of plastic used to tie down toys in their packaging. Just remove the little metal wire from the enveloppe and use the enveloppe to stick in the wrist pivot (god my english sucks...) anyways, just click the link below to see the article in ToyboxDX Link to ToyboxDX link to hand fix
  21. I beg to differ, In the Macross universe, the VF-1R was assigned to retards thus explaining the R
