  1. Quite sure SK's lego model's had no curved wings, if that helps ;-)
  2. ENJOY EVERYTHING! Brilliant, Vifam! :-)
  3. In the end, even if the color IS NOT FIXED, I will still get a DX RVF. I just don't get as upset over something like this as I would if an expensive toy self destructed. So, my sympathies with anyone who has suffered the 'cheap screw of death' so far. Other than that significant issue (which I have not encountered), I haven't experienced any real show-stoppers on the 3 DXs so far: - The groin peg has worked fine so far, even on my badly abused DX Alto, although I managed to rub off some of the shoulder SMS markings because I'd given up on being gentle during the double knee surgery. - the loose hip armor on Michel can be fixed with Blutac; - original Ozma's short neck is ameliorated by positioning the the neck-block at a steeper angle than shown in the booklet; All other aesthetic complaints can be addressed by buying the model kit - you have a CHOICE; the DX toy isn't for everyone and certainly not if you count having absolutely accurate landing gears, no 'dihedral' wing warp and properly protruding leg/engine nacelles above the rear fuselage as being more important than... well, having a nice big toy of the VF-25. Please try to have fun if you can. I've given up on hating Yamato – I just don't buy them and save myself the heartache. Once in a while, I see a new post in the 'What's wrong with my XX Yammie" threads and take a peek... and tell myself to stay out and don't comment.
  4. Yup, color discrepancy is worrying. As I've blown my monthly budget, I'll just wait for the next shipment to reach Singapore... might have fixed any color problems by then.
  5. Hi all, Yes, I did transform the SP battroid to fighter with groin armor attached. All my shots are 'that way'. Perhaps I simply didn't know any better. It certainly did not FEEL impossible to have the groin armor attached in F-mode. If there was any fit problem, I would say it's due to the long rifle's front peg not aligning as well.
  6. I present: The Shame of Kawamori... Omega Boost! A wannabe Valkyrie with recycled mecha detailing! Longer-than-sane rifle with a side grip that cannot be reached by supporting arm! Pyjama-stripe torso! Vernier tubing that goes nowhere! Backpack stolen from Scopedog II... ! Beta Boost! A wannabe Virtual-On Raiden, but with horn-y Gouf shoulders! 'No-design' box thrusters on hips and ankles! Crotch blaster included! http://www.toymania.com/toyfair2000/bluebo...ega/omega.shtml
  7. Hey there, GG! Just a few words of caution: If you're getting the card holder for the 25G, do be aware that you will be placing stress on the big rifle, even though it uses 2 pegs instead of 1. I'm more comfortable using it on the 'naked' 25S (without rifle). II'm thinking of drilling a big hole through the holder so that I can attach Ozma's rifle to his jet, but the amount of clearance needed is not as easy to determine as it looks. Might take the better part of a Saturday afternoon to get it right.
  8. Fighter with SP is pretty tight, except for the thigh pieces which still tend to pop off too easily. But at least your hands are unlikely to bump into them, unlike for battroid and gerwalk.
  9. Thanks for pointing that out. To be honest, I still haven't familiarized with the VF-25 design yet. Aside from easily recalling Alto's green visor and Ozma's skull-back, the RVF and G's are just a blaze of green and blue in my mind. As to Michel's rifle, the front mount pegs into the slid-open slot that is also used to secure the groin in battroid mode. Hope everyone who wants one manages to secure an order. The price is, frankly, wrong – we know what you're doing Bandai – but if you plan and budget for it, I think you will enjoy the toy despite the shortcomings noted so far.
  10. Ankle locks? You mean when the metal block is extended out, whether it 'clicks' into place? That's a non-issue because the loose thigh armor won't allow you to get much of an action pose in battroid anyway. Spread the A-stance and the inner side of the thighs will graze the crotch piece, causing the armor to pop off. F!@#$!
  11. Now for my favorite mode of the toy... Fighter! I just want to say: I have ZERO love for the included display stand. For figther mode, yes, the stand allows the big rifle to be mounted. But the hoops you have to jump through to get everything aligned is a joy killer. And right after you got the toy in-place... want to pick it up and fly it around? WAIT. Detach all the pegs, slots blah blah blah. I'm better off with my improvised card holder! Delicate balancing act... Boosters galore... I'm pretty happy with the tampo printing so far. As long as I don't abuse the toy (like when I put Alto into surgery), no real worries. Let the Itano Circus begin... ! Here's my Macross line-up today. Had to keep my old school Regult. Once Luca arrives, I'll have another dilemma.
  12. Pix Pix Pix! Michel ready for action. Even with Super Pack on, the toy still balances well in battroid. However, the thigh armors detach too easily. Nice thruster detail. I did find myself wishing the rear leg armors were designed better because knee rotation is very restrictive. I'm gonna SNIPE you!... wait, wrong show... The sniper rifle is much nicer than the wimpy standard gunpod. The materials seem stronger, and the detailing is excellent. You do want to be careful when closing the X flanges... the hinges tend to stick. Is this the Son of Armored Gerwalk? I find that for Michel+Super Pack, it doesn't pose well with the arms out. Wouldn't balance well in one hand, and the armor parts make it harder to do so. Plus the rear half of the plane is weighed down by the boosters and would then to droop. Unless you lock the legs in for the dangly-pose in the so-so display stand, I'd rather have it in half-G mode. This is probably how it would land (Well, this TOY anyway.) Gerwalk rear view. Slightly higher angle to catch the armor details.
  13. Pretty much what the G-man said: Thigh armor pieces are really a P.I.T.A. when transforming between modes or posing the toy. However, I'm not so sure that the crotch piece has to come off. I think the first step for the armor in the booklet was to flip the crotch+legs open to attach the crotch armor and then flip it back into closed position. I had no problem locking the wing gloves onto the leg armors even with the crotch armor 'wedged' inside. I was keen to display Michael's ride in battroid-sniper config but seriously, the fighter mode is just so much more bad-ass right now.
  14. Well, it's in my hands. The box is basically 2X the thickness of the no-armor boxes. Rushing off to catch Detroit Metal City at the cinemas now... Hope to have some nice pix tonight. :-)
  15. Just got a SMS (!) alert from my regular store. Collecting the toy as soon as I clear the office. Yes! :-)
  16. SWEET! Any pix of the sniper rifle mounted in fighter mode? i.e. What's the situation with forward landing gears? Obstructed or not?
  17. Cut the dissing for Gatchman II, ya hobo! The flaming bird beat the pants off of G-1 standing on the lame-o Gatcha-Spartan with a freakin' sword out en-garde!! For ugly HERO mecha, try the hover tank from Southern Cross. Uninspiring in every mode.
  18. Just a quickie for my DX Ozma, which I'd decided to display in fighter mode because of the badass skull emblem. Since I don't use the Yamato stands, nor do I trust the made-for-MG-kit MS Stands, I improvised with a clear acrylic card holder instead: The holder is very stable and tucks in nicely under the fuselage against the opposite leg. Of course that means removal of the gunpod, but in the bigger scheme of things, no big loss. One more shot from behind... anyone still notice the terrible swooping wingspan? Not me, I'm just having fun. :-)
  19. Man, the ugly sprue scar on the blue windscreen SUCKS BIG TIME. 9800 yen! I guess it's time to be more prudent with my money and wait for a sale.
  20. Well, I did say 'approx' 290. I buy regularly from Ng and he gets stock from Roy/TFH. I believe the pricing will fluctuate depending on the state of the Yen. BTW, I still have issue one of Chronicles on hand. Want it?
  21. Yes, heed the words of Mr March. Doing one issue with care to avoid creases etc takes over 30 minutes, especially if you also want to apply ring-protectors (3 per page). Trying to do more than 3 issues together will leave you frustrated and careless.
  22. Shops in Singapore have started taking orders for Armored Ozma. Price is approx 290 SGD, or 188 USD.
  23. I flatten the covers separately and then stick on a clear plastic filing strip along the spine. The strips come with punched holes to fit a variety of binder formats. Eventually, I'll probably file them away with the 'special sheets'. Here's a random link to the strips I'm using: http://www.office365.co.uk/Files-Pockets-B...ling-Strips.htm Note: the brand is '3L', LOL.
