  1. From BATTLE FORM to GERWALK FORM - Take careful note of step 3 & 4 to avoid damaging the arms. From GERWALK FORM to FLIGHT FORM - In step 2, take note of the small buttons labeled "G" and "H" to lock/unlock the knee-pivot piece "E". Over time the small springs in these two buttons will weaken - it's unavoidable. Don't force anything or you might just break it. If you ever think of disassembling the toy to fix something, just remember this: the landing gear is very hard to put back correctly - If you have the rifle, be careful not to slot it too tightly into the fists or legs. Hellishly difficult to remove once it's jammed!
  2. FB, you want to be very careful with the Nikick's arms, if they aren't already damaged by the previous owner. I'm talking about the spring-loaded flaps on the forearms - they're meant to be folded inwards when you collapse/tuck the arms together for Gerwalk or Flyer mode. When I played with it back in the 80's, I was pretty casual about this area. I simple forced the arm to close up and assumed the flap would fold in by simple leverage. Mistake. The excessive force can cause white stress marks on the flap and damage the hinges. Take care!
  3. No, they were just safeguarding the marketability of the VT-1. Same reasons for not including spare heads for 1/48s. They want fans to buy them all.
  4. Think of them as Gashapon with FIX level paint jobs. Very nice sculpts! They come on blister-packed cards, the figs are about 10cm tall.
  5. I've got the original instructions for the Nikick (it's 1/40 scale by the way), but I've got to dig it up from the box buried somewhere in my store room. I can get it scanned in a couple hours time if you don't mind waiting. If anyone else can get it out faster, please by all means
  6. OMG is that nobel for real? Hybridchild Real wild child she is! In the big fight, Nobel goes into berserker mode and whups Shining Gundam.
  7. The low-vis VF-1 makes an appearance in Macross Zero, I'm sure of it. Well, maybe the markings will be slightly different when it DOES appear in the OVA... and then Yamato will release a NON LIMITED Macross Zero edition. Maybe.
  8. Even 100,000 is "limited" as long as they promise not to make a single one more. It's a good gimmick to drive sales of a non-canon collector's item.
  9. You really think so? Doesn't seem that tough to make happen if Yamato wants to make a really kic-ass product and thrill the fans... OTOH, with the kind of shortcuts Yamato seems to prefer taking sometimes, maybe you're right.
  10. Heh, at least G-Gundam's designs provoke some kind of response out of you guys. They're so outlandish you can compare them to the idea of "weekly monsters" in classic Super Robot shows. I'm a real-robot fan and I'd rather be surprised and entertained by a great story than be bored to tears by mediocre MS like SEED's latest: Justice, Freedom, Forbidden, Calamity et al. It's very easy to take the piss out of something you haven't tried. G-Gundam was directed by the guy who gave us the Giant Robo OVA. Betcha most UC fans won't care for that either!
  11. … If Yamato included a separate cockpit/fuselage section which you can clip onto the arm of a another valk, just like in the TV episode? It would have to be a separate prop or accessory, no use hoping for the impossible. Who would pay a premium to get such an extra with the main toy? On the same line, how about a space pod for Milia's baby when her 1/48 gets released eventually? Complete with opening hatch and mini-baby fig? These are the kind of things they couldn't do for the 1/60s by the larger size of the 1/48s is perfect for.
  12. If you're looking to be entertained and don't mind suspending your basic need for ultra-realistic mecha warfare, give G-Gundam a chance. I used to hate it when it first appeared back in the early 90's... avoided it like a disease. After many years, I reached Gunpla burnout and wondered why all the Gundam shows i watched were so dreary. My brother got hold of G-Gundam on VCD and we gave it a spin. WOW!!! Here's dramatic action! Here's meaningful character interaction. Here's over the top fighting action! Heroic sacrifices, friendship in rivalry, and love triumphing over incredible odds! G-Gundam is GGGGGREAT!
