  1. For the sake of this thread Solscud007's MG is top notch hands down, but if I had to choose between TH's I'd have to say EXO's original gets the prize. That gold visor just puts it over the top with that fresh out the factory look to it.

  2. Perhaps this belongs more correctly in the 'noob' thread...but what is the origin of the Thunder Hammer armor?

Here is Solscud007's MG Thunder Hammer. It might have been posted earlier in the thread.

It was a custom armor that was originally published in the japanese hobby magazine MODEL GRAPHIX, Oct 2002.

We drooled over it for 5 years before getting the chance to own one.

The original TH thread has been retired for a while. So many people were impressed with the reproduction that I think a fuller description of its origin is worth mentioning.

What EXO isn't telling you is that he commissioned a guy to take on building the kit from scratch using the images from the magazine. The thread blew up like Hiroshima with interest from members and the guy agreed to recast the kit and some lucky members were fortunate enough to cop a set.

Although it isn't a MG you I have to add it here because the magazine scan doesn't do it much justice. Both these pieces are most impressive in my opinion.

  3. So remind me, what can dethrone my MGTH?

That Thunder Hammer MG was pretty cool, but it's subjective. I went back and forth on two occasions debating on purchasing a kit and ultimately decided against it. I haven't seen a Minmay Guard I haven't liked, whether it's clad in the Thunder Hammer Amor, fitted with Super & Strike parts, or just plain Jane, but if it stiffens your noodle I'm sure many would agree that your MGTH is probably one of the coolest ones out there. B))

Are you kidding me? Already weathered and panel lined??? You're one brave dude!!! Surely you purchased a case like Agent-GHQ!!

  5. No doubt, that guy's stuff is crazy...

Yeah, but don't let that discourage you. I started posing my stuff when I first joined the forums almost two years ago and the more I fiddle around with poses, it seems like the better some get. Some guys have a knack for them and ruskii happens to be one of them. Looks like you have a creative niche when it comes to posing so keep with it. It looks like you can bring a different flavor to this thread!

  6. nice! guess it's time to pop open the champagne... you finally got your Minmay Guard custom! congrats...looks awesome w/ the dio. B))

Thanks! Celebration has taken place and I am still giddy about this one. With the MG I think you either love it or hate it. I hated this thing when I first saw it. Over time I began to admire its coolness. Simply overjoyed at finally owning one!

Congrats on the Kurt custom, it looks great! Love the diorama too, especially the guy with the little mobile slushee cart...

Thanks man! Kurt is a talented guy. I hear people compliment designers and what not saying the person "capture the vision exactly". When I say Kurt captured my vision he was dead on point and even went as far as doing things I hadn't even thought of. I've only transformed it once and found all sorts of surprises I did not expect. The guy has a gift and is really a pleasure to work with. Told him once what I wanted and he got it dead center!

tell the guy, being a professional maintenance crew, can't he read the NO STEP label on the wing?

    DOAT!!!

    that's a beaut!

A beaut she is! And with that being said here are a few more pics as it will live the rest of its life in fighter mode on this launch arm after one transformation by me. Simply beautiful!

  7. Hi!

I show him the photos and he decided to buy some for his shop, but he told me to ask you if he can use some of the photos that you have taken to promote the stands, well, ¿Do we have your permission to uses the photos?

    Thank you!

Cool deal. I'm sure they'll be popular. Feel free to use any of my amatuer poses, but you'll probably need to check with individuals for their permission or have the seller direct those interested to the forums. Definitely check with ruskii has he makes the most of of the stands. Good luck! ^_^

  8. The pictures Kurt post once he's completed a project really doesn't do his work justice. There is unbelievable detail in his work. The are little unexpected surprises of detail all over that he doesn't showcase. My camera and photography skills don't do this Paris Act MG the proper justice it deserves either, but here are pics nonetheless. 501 is in the building!

  9. Sounds good to me, PM sent and thank you! :)

Now the harder part. Anyone at all with the matching Super/Strike Parts? Again, not holding my breath, just seeing if it's out there. Toywiz.com wants $200 for their parts and that's pretty much the only one I've found at all, so I'm reasonably sure this will end up being my white whale, as it were. xD

I would check with Toywiz and confirm that those parts are indeed the stealth parts. I find it hard to believe that they even have them in stock; even at $200! If they are in stock I would jump all over them as they rarely come up for sale; even here on the boards. There been some sold here for between $100-$150, but I wouldn't wait to save the dough if they can be had right. Bite the bullet and pick you up a set. You won't be disappointed. Undoubtedly one of the best Macross accessories for your 1/48 Valks. Looks bad ass on Hikaru's VF-1S. B))

  10. I also get my Yamato's from In's Point. Probably the same seller as yours. He doesn't always have the best prices, but I prefer buying from him because of his excellent service and specialisation in Yamato.

As for the VT-1, HK$988 still seems a bit too high to me. Not sure why it's so much more expensive than the Strike Vf-1S

About how much is HK$988 in $US?

  11. Anybody know of a cheaper place to purchase it from other than Over Drive? The price at $144.99 US is the cheapest I could find but the $39.99 US shipping is awful.

Especially considering that many are saying the box is somewhat smaller than previous v2 releases.
