  1. Aw poo... 3-4 hours of Watchmen will rule. Cool comic. Didn't live up to the hype, as with many things, but still a sweet read. Makes me stoked when I can tell what part every scene in the trailer came from lol.
  2. Boring ep. Everything that happened could have been done much quicker/cleaner. They're stalllllliiiiiingggg....
  3. Eh, it's not like he would have Doc from BTTF freezing people. I just don't feel like Stewart is right for the part. Not to say that I'd think Lloyd would be perfect, just more interesting...
  4. I dunno... I think Lloyd would be more interesting as Freeze than Stewart.
  5. I go subbed unless in certain cases where the dub is acceptable (Cowboy BeBop, for example). If you get a good group of voice actors together, then it's essentially the same thing. I could go either way in this case. Generally subbed is better imho because the Japanese voice actors seem to take it more seriously... I wonder how they sound to japanese folk quality wise...
  6. Well, I kinnnda want the VF1S just because of it's iconic status... But I've already got 2 1/60(old style).
  7. hmmm maybe I'll get the 19 now and the 21 later.
  8. I've landed what will probably be my job for the next 3 years at least (hopefully). Being older and wiser, I know that it really isn't important to me to own every single Yamato release out there. So, as a reward to myself for landing this job I'm looking for a 1/60 YF-19 type toy. I really don't care what it is, I just can't really decide which to pick because there are pros and cons to each. Should I wait for the VF-11b? Eh... I probably won't. Some ideas I've tossed around; Millia 1/48 FAST-Pack set. Red is my favorite color and I love the scheme, but I've already got a 1/48 Hikaru. Focker Special 1/48. Been too poor to get one for years... is it worth it at this point since they aren't re-releasing? YF-19 1/60... I hear it's badass from a NON MACROSS FAN I RECOMMENDED IT TO (he wanted a neat transforming toy to buy). YF-21... intriguing? VF-0? Also interesting... Really, what's the toy that Yamato has released recently that people have been very satisfied with? The updated 1/60s may be the hot topic but I mean... I want something a bit bigger than that since I have pretty much all the old 1/60 ones. I want to spice poo up a bit eh? What do you guys recommend?
  9. Eh, they shoulda done their homework. Now Fox is gonna gouge them.
  10. Mer-man... *cough* *cough* ...MER-MAN!!!
  11. I decided not to see it because of the inclusion of the token hip, young female jedi.
  12. A well done Riddler would be neat. Honestly though... I'd like to see some of the villains that haven't been tapped as much. Though... Catwoman could make a nice showing as a secondary villain... though feminist groups would poo themselves.
  13. where's a good place for torrents on this badboy? you can pm me if you wanna keep up with the "rules"
  14. I could honestly deal with 3 hours. At least on the DVD release...
  15. It was pretty awesome. New Rachel looks fugly compared to Katie Holmes. Ledger was awesome as the Joker, though I still would have preferred a more traditional Joker. He did a damn good job, but I am not in the "he deserves post-humous oscar" crowd....
  16. Sweet. Interesting read, but I'd say it's overhyped on the whole. I do like all the layers the original work had, so hopefully they translate to the film well. Its funny too because I know pretty much exactly what parts the stuff in the trailer is from. Wonder how they'll cram everything in...
  17. I never said that, do not put words in my mouth. Are the other people that don't find Macross Frontier "erotic" "holier" as well? I never said anything about age. That was actually a comment aimed at myself and azrael. Read the thread. All I did was /facepalm yet another thread where the fanboys ogle the fanservice. That's when the OP and other posters got defensive and I went ahead and posted a response to their replies. Then the OP compared the show to high art forms like French impressionists, which I felt was a bad comparison and posted a disagreement. I also called into question the OP making this comparison while other people said it was all "just for fun" like all the other threads discussing the massive amounts of fan service in the show. But really it's not like this hasn't already been done before. I never said anything about age or jacking off, I *did* say that it was basically another thread where people talk about which scenes got their palms sweaty (which can happen w/o jacking off) All of this while being called "holier than thou," "old" and a "prude." There's a difference between being bored with a subject that already has several threads/clubs dedicated to it and being any of those descriptors. It's always "all a joke" just like every other thread on the matter.
  18. Well, if I listen to you and not the OP, then this thread is just as silly as every other "boobs" thread.
  19. I agree with Mr. March honestly that "erotic" isn't the best word to use. You're comparing fan service from an anime to impressionist paintings (and by extension other forms of high art)? That's a bit of a stretch. I have yet to see a post with any substance outside of your own defending the legitimacy of the topic. It may as well be about the character with the biggest boobs. I'm waiting for your thread to blossom into the rigorous discussion of the high art that is Frontier.
  20. It may as well be "which character has the biggest boobs?" But we've already had 2 threads on that, right? So please, continue the heady discussion of which scene made peoples' palms sweat most.
  21. Yeah, the thing is that it's a cartoon. Sorry, some of us don't find drawings "erotic." You even mention bringing out the "inner pervert." Some of us enjoy or are at least trying to enjoy the series for other reasons. Some of us get annoyed that the new series panders to such an audience. As I said, it's called fan service. I guess I've been desensitized to it over the years.
  22. Doom was kinda creepy and so was Diablo. Lol thinking back on it, the games that scared me most were the Original AVP on Jaguar and then later the PC AVP... I think the one on Jaguar was mostly because I was younger and playing it in my Grandma's creaky old house late at night. The later one was probably due to the "alien popping out of nowhere" parts. One game that didn't really scare me, but I still had to laugh about was the first level in Soldier of Fortune where you're going through a subway station killing all these enemies. I get through the level and at the VERY end of the level after killing 50 guys or whatever your partner jumps out and is like "JOHN!" I promptly blew his head off and failed the level. My friends and I would later joke that he may as well have gone "BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!" while waving his arms around... you'd think he'd have been a tad more subtle in such a hostile environment. About Diablo 3's art direction... it is too early to tell. Also, people simply running the screens through photoshop isn't the same as making a 3d engine look like that. I have faith in the creators and trust their judgement on not wanting basically a black and white game with black and white bgs and black and white enemies. People seem to forget that Diablo 2 had a lot more color and variety than Diablo for the simple fact that it didn't all take place in a dungeon. Heh... overzealous fanboys...
