  1. Yep, sweet... also... a little packed on steroids/deltoids, isn't he? (Me, Grimlock, leader!!!) Can't wait!
  2. Hi, in my case, I've had 14 yammies. From those, I've sold all 4 1/60 VF-1's, 1 YF-21FP and 1 1/72 vf-19 VFX2. Let's recap... SDF 1/60's: vf-1a hikaru's: a little yellowing, a little paint chipping. vf-1a CF, vf-1a Roy: puuurrrfect. No flaws, cool. vf-1a Max: hip joints slightly loose. 1/72's: VF-11: had to make some "tunning", like G-man proposed on the forums. Some sanding here, some screw-tightening there... The only flaw it ended with is some stress marks on his left hip. Other than that, it's still in shape and supports all the transforming process without problems (yesterday I did...) YF-21: no problems. YF-21FP: no problems. Well, yes, it was... purpy... does it count as an issue? :-P VF-19 VFX2: a little paint chipping on the die cast part of the left leg. 1/48's: VF-1S hik, VF-1J hik, both with FP's: Purrrrrrfect!!! no flaws, no problems, tons of transformations, barrell rolls, swooshes around the house... 1/60's: VF-0s: the only flaw I found on this was, in fighter mode, the cockpit part of the fuselage is a little loose (there's like a 2-5 degrees of freedom, which you notice when you play "landing on the Asuka II/Illustria": when you land the front landing gear, it kinda "variates its shape" -sorry, I don't know how to explain it better) SV-51 Nora: once hip's screws were tightened, perfect! YF-19 (v 1.0) and FP's: had only the misaligned gunpod issue. YF-21: perfect. And that's all folks! Manu
  3. Hi badboy00z, the "nice and tight" yf-19, all fixes, is the version 2. You can distinguish from the regular version because: - fighter, accessories and FAST packs are all on a single box - The box has a background based on 3 wide vertical bars; in the version 2, the central one is GREEN. Please take a look: Version 1 box: Version 2 box: Hope this helps. regards, Manu
  4. Sooo true... I also have the annoying tendence of expecting the most for my money, so I won't justify Yamato, which is not perfect (but IS better, keeping in mind the pictures shown). 100% agree. Period. Nope, I am not that guy. Actually, I pretty much love the extra "soft and GUNPOD-fall-aware" hands on my 1/48 VF-1J. And I like them because they are VERY DIFFERENT from "standard" hands. Bandai has included 4 sets of very similar hands. It's their way of doing things; it's correct, and has its reasons. But I don't like it. Mmmm... not so simple (I wish it was, since I am a very simple lifeform... powered only by a 2-bit cpu...) I just put it this way: even thoguh Yammies are far from perfect, I'm used to "fine tune" them at home to make them better. Examples of this are the "7 steps (and more)" in retooling the original vf-11b, retouching the original vf-1a CF, cutting some sprue rests on 1/48 VF-1J, fixing screws on VF-0S, SV-51 Nora, retooling YF-19 and its FAST packs to correct ver.1 issues... I won't justify that, please believe me. After all, is a pain in the ass having to work on a toy which costs such an amount of money, assuming risks of even breaking it! But at the end of the day, it is more a toy of yours... What really IS a fact, is that Bandai could have done it much, much better. That is what bothers me. Yamato pushes 110%, takes risks and innovates, but suffers from QC issues. Bandai doesn't seem to go that far pushing (but they can be far better!!). These toys simply don't deserve the DX title.
  5. As G-man sig states, you can't fix ugly. Some months after the first announcement, all I can say it's just an "acceptable" valk, for that amount of money. But it isn't just the crotch thing or fugly landing gears... it's... more an overall thing. Watching carefully the pics Graham posted, the time where most of us complained about YF-19's "fat front fuselage syndrome" seems a joke. Bandai's VF-25 seem to suffer from: - fugly crotch - fugly fuselage belly - transformer-ish looklike - fugly landing gears (more the rear ones than the front) - fugly (but quite interesting) pose when FP are attached - fugly gerwalk mode - 4 sets of hands... (why? I'm pretty sure bandai knows something about ARTICULATED hands...) So, overall, it just looks like an acceptable, overpriced valk to me. They should have made it better, 'cos they can. I'm not sure if I will even buy a single of them. For 12K yen, there's a lot of yamato stuff out there... Dissapointing. Macross Frontier has been a wonderful series, and it's a pity we can't get (now) something better.
  6. Well, I don't know if I can agree... Keep in mind, for example, the Q-Rau. It was released on february 2005, and it will be re-released next year. Yeah, well, the fact some cooool gal called Klan had one on Mac Frontier might have something to due with it... And the vf-11b FAST packs ver., released on march 2003, didn't have a N>2 (keeping in mind N=1 was the hip-breaking-when-you-look-at-it). I'm not so sure the YF-19 is going to have its N=4... (assuming N=3 is the 25th anniversary) Regards, Manu
  7. Hi folks out there, well, it's been some years now, but this is one of those "I'm afraid to make" questions, just not to let you know my [real] stupidity level in Yamato's knowledge (and it's been 8 years or so around, when macrossworld pages' background was still black!). Guess I just got out of the closet... Anyway, let's go onto the question: in all these past years, the (veryvery rough) process followed by our (beloved-to-the-bone) Yamato staff is something like: get the license for a series (macross, macross plus, macross zero, for example... damn you Bandai! Free Frontier!!) R+D+tons of work Prototypes (and photos!! photos!! and drool!! in eugimon's omega pants!!) First production run Re-use (and correct, if possible) molds Second production run ... N production run This iterations have been a "milk the cow" process, particularly affordable with our 1/48's (N=10 or so!). Keeping this in mind (yep, I'm getting close yet), what does exactly limit the number of runs, and the quantity of toys produced for each of those runs? And (the real question, which is killing my brain), why is so damn hard to find a yf-19 ver.2 with FAST packs? Even in eBay!!! Why, Yamato? Why do you do this to me? Why do you [finally] make my supa-dupa-preferred valk and make only two runs? Why couldn't I afford for two? Aaaarghhh!!! Crap. BTW (and off-topic), just got a Nora SV-51 on evil Bay, and thanks to you guys (and mw forums of course) I've fixed the floppiest hips ever found in a Yamato toy!! Happy!! ^_^ [Yep, this happiness-sadness duality is also killing me. Doctor said schizo-whatsoever... do you think I shoud care?] Thank you guys, see you around!

    Space Render

Hi, I'm not good at lightning nor modelling, but one thing that buggers me a lot of your [great] models is there are no shadows!! [scary] Good work, btw!
  9. Mmmm... Guess it has to due with Bandai and steroids. Look at 1/55's deltoids... Man, that were deltoids! Anyway, I feel dissapointed Yamato didn't make it to get the license. I would so much like to get a Yammie VF-25... Crap. At the beggining, it was kinda cool to expect something new from Bandai (ala Takara Masterpieces or so), so expectations were set high. Time has passed, and it turned out to have been set TOO high. Crap (again). Right now, all we have is to wait a little bit more, praying Bandai's guys do a better work than we think... Fingers crossed, mw'ers!
  10. Hahaha!!! Very good one! I love it (and agree somewhat to the same TF-addiction...) Nice. Very nice.
  11. Wow, the chart is great... but the aliasing hurts! Good job!
  12. Superb job! Guess who's got a new wallp? Curiosity... what did you use to get the scan texture? Some kind of manual filter? Manu
  13. Wow... what an episode... IMO, this chapter definitely screams Southpark: Ranka-chan: Hey, they've just killed Micheru!!! Aruto-kun + Klan: You bastards!!! Manu
  14. Mmm... after falling from my chair, and recovery for a full <segmentation fault - core dumped> brain problem... LOL! I don't feel so freak after seeing those guys!
  15. Wow! Can't wait to see the final result! Superb job!
  16. Well, just in case somebody is doing the dirty job instead of me, these are my new numbers: 1/72: 2 (vf-11b nonFP and yf-21 nonFP) 1/60: 3 (vf-0s, yf-19 and yf21 -mac+, yeah, baby!! ) 1/48: 2 (vf-1s hikaru and vf-1j hikaru, both with their FP!) Yep, I know, only 5...

    Macross Plus

In two words, im-pressive!!! Or, if you prefer... <Megatron voice mode ON> EXCELLENT... <Megatron voice mode OFF> Now we miss the yf-19 counterpart....
  18. OMG... this pic reminds me the old MW days... "the wall of Yamato". sigh... Graham posted a pic of his "huge" yammie collection, consisting (IIRC) on 12 1/72's... And THAT was amazing... Now, 8 years later, take a look at this... geez! Me wants!
  19. If this is true, I haven't been able to get my 19 properly posed on the 21's display stand. Actually the stand comes with two pieces: one for yf-21 in battroid mode, and the other for connecting the 21 fighter mode to the stand. No more "connectors", at least on my yf-21. Regds, Manu
  20. Hi all, just my 2 cents here. Overall, Yamato has impressed me again. The yf-21 looks great in all 3 modes, I very much like the color, and it's got a lot of goodies. But I fear I have a couple of (maybe minor) complaints: - Main wings in fighter mode: they're... floppy. I wish the mecanism wich allows the wings to rotate was a little bit better, or even better, to add locking mechanisms ala SV-51 to properly fix wings in place. - Rear landing gear collapsing very easily when playing - loose backpack: the metal plate which connects the main body of the battroid to its backpack is (at least in my 21) partially bended, so the backpack ends on my hands often. I don't remember Guld loosing the backpack, so I think it's not a gimmick. - guns easily falling (with FP on): all you need is a barrell roll to loose one or both gunpods when you have FAST packs on. Other than that, the yf-21 is gorgeous, and the QC issues doesn't have anything similar to yf-19's. Definitely, recommended buy! And if you can get two, don't hesitate! Manu
  21. Amazing videos!!! Many thanks in advance. Surely I will make use of 'em as soon as my shipment arrives... BTW, I have to say that some actions are very... scary. I'll have to try! mcpaz
  22. Ehm... well... am I the only one who has noticed that lesbo pose on the upper left corner? Yeah, I mean, the other stuff which is non-macross... BTW, your display is very cool!!
  23. Hi, as Renato asked, here's the original file... just rename from .txt to .xls Kind regards, Manu studio_valks_2.0.txt
  24. <Hommer mode on> Aaawwwggg.... <droool> Caan--dyyy... <Hommer mode off> Yamato, congratulations!! Me wants!! 2!! mcpaz
  25. Hi all, it's been a couple of weeks since I don't have enough time to visit the forums... and I'm very surprised this topic is not on the first page... is this because there is no news about my beloved blue or what? Please, any pic, rumour, rant, whatever... will be welcomed from spain! (mmmm... looks it's a 'bump' for this topic, doesn't it?) Manu edit: smilie and sig... (yep, I was on xmas...)
