  1. Sold mine a couple months ago, but I'm so getting another one, I've always regretted selling it. The transformation is awesome on that thing.
  2. Saw it last night. Nothing particularly wrong with it, other that it probably was too short.
  3. I'm kinda of a noob yet I have a fairly large collection of Macross Valks (I collect the toys but have never seen the shows). I was looking at my old 1/48 VF-1J the other day (the first Valk I ever got - thank you A3U!) and I was wondering if today was just all about the new 1/60 ones or if the 1/48 were still sought after?
  4. Bought a chunky VF-1J reissue at TFcon last week, I like it better than the 1/48 or the 1/60 versions. Vintage engineering rocks.
  5. Otherwise Razerwire, how's the toy?
  6. Yeah, battroid mode sucks. Far too sexy and aggressive for the average Macross fan. We don't like change.
  7. WANT. At any scale as long as they keep the transformation exactly the same (it's not like it's super complex anyway).
  8. Love my Quarter as well. Not sure what the reviewer was expecting. An integrated anti-gravity device to support all the weight in cruiser mode? Not the kind to whoosh my toys around either. This is not a toy for kids after all, mostly for display.
  9. Why do you always have to be an ass to everyone here? That makes your troll calling even more ironic since the only troll in this room is you. Seems you're constantly looking for e-fights for some obscure reason.
  10. That review was retarded. No wonder you loved it.
  11. Can that be fixed? Haven't touched my VB-6 in years now.
  12. I prefer my VF-25 Alto with full armor and my VF-27 over my 1/60 VF-11C or VE-1 (and all my other 1/60 and 1/48 figures actually). Unfortunately, Yammies don't feel as nice as they look.
  13. Got my VF-27 today, awesome piece. The sculpt is spectacular all over. I own a few Yammies, but the Bandai DX stuff is just so much more nicer.
  14. I can't help it, when I think "skull + crossbones", I think "Disney pirate ships". I've always prefered minimalist decos.
  15. Funny, that's my favorite deco. I especially hate the skulls, they're just too cheesy imo.
  16. Mine stays centered. I'm just having a hell of a hard time deploying the landing gears (especially without having the tires fall off).
  17. 1/48 (1) : VF-1J 1/60 (5) : SV-51, YF-19, YF-21, VE-1, VF-11C 1/100 (1) : VB-6 Plus one Bandai DX VF-25 Alto (with the exclusive armor) and I will soon add a DX VF-27 Lucifer.

    Supah Happy Party Set!

    Wow, great job man!
  19. Makes sense, thanks for the explanation. I still wonder why no one caught the problem before the release at the factory. Aren't they testing their own products to ensure they work as they should? Or they just dropped the ball hoping no one will notice?
  20. Please post only if you have an informed opinion. It's clear that you have a very limited if nonexistent experience in Transformers collecting. I'm looking for opinions from people who can actually compare by experience (and not only with just Macross and Transformers but also other lines of transforming mechas).
  21. Haven't read the entire saga, but has it been explained why they ended up using knurled pins at the factory? Assembly error? Faulty design?
  22. Finally a hardcore Macross fan who isn't a snob and takes the time to answer. Thanks man. I didn't think about the Japan-only aspect. Mostly materials, but design-wise as well. And they also come with tons and tons of high-quality accessories, even at the lower price points. That's debatable. The basic transformation of Valkyries is not that difficult either and their articulation isn't always the best in the leg department. I think figures like Dancouga, Gunbuster, Ideon, Irongear, Daimos, Godmarz, Zambot 3, Combattler V, Voltes V, GX-46 (can't spell those names) and the upcoming Daitarn 3 display superior (and more original) engineering. Also, the selection of transforming SOC is quite extensive. That's subjective. I personally find SOC more exciting because of the variety (I know, they borrow their bots from various shows). I like Valkyries, they're beautiful, I have 8 of them myself, but you have to admit that the basis of the franchise is to rehash the same basic design over and over. Can you imagine a Transformers franchises made exclusively with countless takes on the Optimus Prime truck and nothing else? I like the variety and all the various alien/retro designs. They're the roots of our hobby. Also, look at $20 Transformers like ROTF Starscream, Mixmaster or Ironhide. They are more complex figures than most Valkyries. Even some crazy movie $10 deluxes are.
  23. How many units are we talking about? And does that mean figures like Soul of Chogokin are produced in much greater numbers given their superior quality for the same price (or less!)? I thought they were relatively limited too.
