  1. Football robot? Now this I gotta hear.
  2. 5 different versions of the film? Geez, this is putting Highlander 2 to shame (in more ways than one).
  3. I'm in a paranoid mood. The first thing I thought of when VF5SS said their site was down was that some irate tf fan DoS attacked them to death. And now, back to reality & sanity. Question: what does the dx portion of your site stand for?
  4. Phew! Did you guys ever rip into this film. "Drunken camera man! F&^&ing hold the camera still for like 5 seconds please!" I have an idea for the shaky camera. His goal was to make the entire audience puke in their seats. Too... much... movement... blarghh!!!
  5. So, JS, it seems to me that BluRay & HD-DVD are following the same trend as DVD did when it first started becoming really popular. The first DVD's weren't that well encoded and featured few extras. Everyone was still adjusting to the new technology, from encoders to consumers. IMO, it seems a waste of time & money to switch over to the new formats simply because most of the titles released now will be re-released with better transfers & extras later on.
  6. For subjecting us to this kind of torture, I vote we ban Keith for a day, and have this serve as a warning for all such future "finds".
  7. Echo? Weird. I'm not really a tech wizard. The only, only thing I can think of is your playback software set incorrectly. I liked the Galactica podcast because it was different than the other 2 I listened (mospeada & southern cross). It was short. You introduced it with a tone of voice that was kind of like "we're gonna talk about stuff, and if you don't like it, bite me". That started it off well for me. I'm not sure the way you started there would have worked for your longer podcasts, but for a short one, it was good. The rest of it was just you guys giving off some topic information and putting in a smart ass comment here & there. I also like how you keep the swearing & cussing to a minimum and only use it for emphasis on some subject you feel strongly about.
  8. Hey Ginrai, I've noticed something about your podcasts that seems a bit weird to me: the bit rates are 256kb/s. I find it weird since there's only dialog going on, not real music to speak of. Of course, this creates a larger file. Is there a reason you're going for such a high bit rate? I'm just saying that reducing your bit rate would probably substantially reduce your bandwidth costs, and should not affect the podcast's quality (I think). P.S. Your Battlestar Galactica podcast was hilarious.
  9. Not that I'm trying to change the direction this thread's been going (nah, I'm lying , I really am trying to change this thread's direction), I just want to start out by saying: nice podcast. I listened to your Southern Cross podcast last week, and now your Mospeada one this week. The first thing I noticed is how many details you guys know. Is all this info straight out of your heads, or do you do a lot of research beforehand? What I noticed is the wealth of details on the pre-production phase: what the shows' creators' intentions were, the character designs, and so forth. The second part I noticed and liked is you guys' humor. I particularly laughed at the part where you were talking about Yellow revealing he's really a man. One other thing: like I said, I've only listened to two of your podcasts. Both were around 40-45 minutes long. Is that a standard running time with all your shows? I'm only saying this because I've listened to some other podcasts that just seem to be too long (over an hour, two in some cases) and the announcers just seem to ramble on just to fill in some time. But at 45 minutes, yours seem just right. Here's an idea for a future podcast (if you take requests that is): do a show on the original series that comprised Voltron: Go Lion and Dairugger XV. Good job, and keep up the good work.
  10. Who knows? It could be the Supervision Army ship we saw in Ep 30 just cruising by Earth.
  11. That's something my wife and I were joking about if Rowling ever decided to continue the series after book 7: Harry Potter, The College Years. See Harry in his first frat party!!! Chug! Chug! Chug!
  12. The episode 4 was only added on screen in a re-release from 1981, after it was decided that Empire was going to be Episode 5. While Lucas may have planned to have 3, 6, 9, or 12 films all along, the stories themselves were always being made up as he went along. It's the same with any series. You do one storyline movie at a time. If you don't believe me, check out some of the reviews for the very first Empire Strikes Back screenplay from Leigh Bracket: virtually nothing is the same as what we saw on screen. This new Transformers franchise is no different. They're making it up as they go along. There is no grand plan or cosmic design.
  13. I haven't seen the film yet, but I had thought the book itself was only so-so. It's no surprise to me that you're saying the film is also not as good as the others.
  14. Interesting car, uh... or jet. [Redneck farmer]That looks like an airplane, without wings!"[/Redneck farmer]
  15. Listened to it the other day. Good job. It made me feel like watching the show, unfortunately I have to way of acquiring it. Looking forward to your other shows. Make sure to announce it.
  16. New series coming soon according to ANN. Dances for joy.
  17. My God, I can't believe some are now approving of this incident. This thread really makes me go WTF!!! I think it's time to lock it up and get on to discussing some more interesting things.
  18. Hadn't planned on seeing it, but hearing you guys talk about it is making lean the other way. A review I can't believe was so positive, and he got some of the technical terms wrong: Roger Ebert's Review
  19. Phew! I wonder if that review will be echoed by others? It certainly was devastating (no pun intended).
  20. The Studio Nue, Artland & another building all get demolished by Hikaru at the end of Ep 1. If you slow motion advance the destruction of the Studio Nue building, you actually see the SN mascot reacting to the building's destruction. I've never heard of Kawamori getting crushed. When does this take place?
  21. You got it Akilae. Your turn.
  22. What do you mean? There was nothing wrong with DH2. I mean, planes with empty fuel tanks exploding in huge fireballs, passenger jets that don't have enough fuel for alternate airports so they have to keep circling the airport (a clear violation of air traffic laws), John McClain able to lift a grate supposedly strong enough to hold an aircraft. Nah, no problems there.
  23. In episode 6 of Full Metal Panic, Sousuke, Kaname & Kurz are surrounded by enemy soldiers in what looks like a no win situation. Kaname then says that this reminds her of a Hollywood film whose name she can't remember. Kurz says the same thing. What movie are they thinking of?
  24. Kanuka Clancy is named after Tom Clancy.
  25. Wow, that teaser sure was a yawning experience.
