  1. There's nothing more fun than to see no one, no two, but three people posing at the same time. Back to topic: Well, it's true that she is not in a good mental shape when the whole thing happens. In normal circumstance, she has every right not to sing because she feel not like to, but with her position as the Songstress of Hope and having the power to pacify the Vajra, I find that her act is a bit of irresponsible. Again, I believe in great power comes great responsibility, and I do hope that Ranka will realise that sometimes in this last 4 episodes. Heck, maybe she will be the key to unite humanity with the Vajra!
  2. I admit, I have very high standard to people, especially to those who hold great powers to influence events, such as in Ranka's case. Maybe I didn't make myself clear: My problem isn't that she couldn't stop the Vajra using her song, but her reluctant to do so when the situation needs her to. Don't forget, it takes a Sherly bitch slap before she even tried to sing. But just like most said, she's still a teenager with no single clue of how big her role she is within the Frontier society, so I don't really hates her as some do, I just wouldn't approve of what Ranka did during these important and difficult moments, and that she could do better than that.
  3. Well, actually I don't have much issue about her leaving Frontier if compared, say, her refusal to sing in the funeral. Again, her action in episode 22 will either redeem her, or fan the hate flame even more. We shall see, we shall see...
  4. To add my two cents into this topic... You know, somehow, I can't help but agree with all those Ranka-haters' sentiment towards her, which strangely didn't even occur to me during the beginning of the series. In fact, if someone did bashed Ranka early in the series, I would dismiss them simply as just being an overzealous fan. I think the main problem really started during the last 2 episodes, where Ranka failed to stop the Vajra. Just like those poor people inside Frontier's bunker, I couldn't but ask this: why can't see stop the attack, she should be the songstress of hope! And the reason she couldn't is just as simple as Alto (apparently) didn't love her. Somehow, that really soured my view towards her. Perhaps it's because of my personal view that 'great power comes great responsibility', and her action during the funeral just make it even worse. To sum it up, I think the problem with Ranka, especially in the last episodes, is just like what Sherly said to her: she has the power that could stop the tragedy from happening (a power Sherly wish she had), but refuse/couldn't/can't do it because of relatively silly problem such as 'the boy I liked didn't like me'. (In other word, she didn't do her best to stop it) This doesn't mean that I'm going to support those trolls, but at least I can understand what makes them feels bad towards her.
  5. You're welcome, March! Just helping those people so that they can stop ask question like 'what's the difference between VF-11B and VF-11C'. In fact, I'm blushing because of this, never think people will thanks me for such an easy thing as adding another link to one's signature. BTW, I'm interested on that website called AN. Can you give me the address to that site?
  6. Babelfished and edited for better understanding: Something tells me that episode 23 will be the episode where we got our major revelation about
  7. How about Fleet of the Strongest Women, then? At least Exedol is there... (Again, haven't seen M7, so forgive me if that suggestion sounds stupid... )
  8. What, March, is that mean M7 is actually better than M0?
  9. But we don't really have information about all those types of Vajra that appear during the series, especially of the ones we saw on the latest 2 episodes, except perhaps graphic about them. I say this is another case of "wait till we get more official info" scenario.
  10. Yeah, Shinsen has back to business!!! Together with the release of Lunar, today is indeed a happy day for me. Menclave, the Slowpoke of the fansub world. But I agree with their quality. Definitely on par with Shinsen, if not because of their slow speed...
  11. d3v: I don't know, I prefer if MF just end in one season. Just don't like the idea of waiting another few months/years to see the story in its conclusion. But that's just me. kresphy: Nice thing. BTW, what's that VF picture you hang in the wall?
  12. I will definitely watch M7 one day, sketchley, but not now, since I don't have that much time for watching three anime series at one time(currently watching MF and R2), not to mention my poor comp's limited space. I will probarly wait till Gubaba released his mega torrent and finding a new laptop.
  13. Well, VF-19 use an entirely different FAST Pack in Macross 7, although there's little reason for VF-19 not able to the one we saw at M+.
  14. Nay, it's a typing error. Should be boost as in 'increasing performance'. Back to topic, it's no surprising that VF-11 (which do have an atmospheric FAST Pack), YF-19 and YF-21 (both FAST Pack are designed so that it didn't interfere with the planes' aerodynamic) don't need to eject their FAST Pack. No sure about VF-17, VF-19 and VF-22 (since I don't really watch Macross 7; BTW, does VF-22 has a FAST Pack?), but I'm pretty sure VF-25 seems to following the tradition of the old VF-1, where FAST Pack is never used inside the atmosphere. Perhaps the FAST Pack interfere with the aerodynamic of the plane, or that Bilrer has a lot of money to buy spare parts.
  15. But in that anime, Blade always has issue with the military, so I don't think he will fight for NUNS, at least not willingly. I agree with you about wanting to see Blade fight against those Vajra. Throw in some SMTC from Gunbuster, and those bugs from Starship Trooper, xenomorph from Aliens, and Zerg from Starcraft, and voila, we have a big bug feast.
  16. Yeah, noticed that too. I have a theory about this: perhaps both packs are designed such that they best performed in space or in battroid mode, where the intakes are always closed. Super pack, since its introduction in SDF Macross, has always been primary used to boast the VF performance in space, such as VF-1 and VF-11, and Armor part are usually used for enhancing the battroid's firepower. There are exception, of course, but since VF-25's design is quite similiar to that of VF-1, I wonder if those packs are designed in these line of thought, too. Perhaps they expect the pilots to eject their packs as soon as the pilots enter the atmosphere, as shown in Gulliam's case and Alto's and co in Gallia 4. Of course, it doesn't explain away why Ozma continue to use its Armor Pack inside Frontier during the battle in episode 2, or the point of designing the plane so that the armor pack can be used in three modes. I let the experts here to do the rest of discussion on this topic.
  17. You know, I always wondered how a 'cultured' Zentran will think about their uncultured counterpart, especially when they meet another Zentradi fleet. Does the shows explores such concept? And BTW, do a fleet of Zentradi makes any communication with another fleets? Cuz I'm curious if the other Zentradi knows of the fates of 118th Bodol Zer Main Fleet, and what they will do about it...
  18. I don't really recall any use of Super Pack in the atmospheric condition, Dark Reaper, at least for the first 20 episodes. (Still haven't seen 21: waiting for my dear AVI) And a nice tidbit: all VF have their intake closed when they are in Battroid mode, a thread shown as early as VF-1. From Macross Compendium... Here's a picture from Macross Mecha Manual, showing the battroid mode of VF-25 without its Super Pack. Notice the closed intake. http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macrossf/vf-25...5f-battroid.jpg So the armor technically didn't block the intakes: the intakes are already closed.
  19. In my case, it's worse: using MPC + CCCP, movie is lagging, and no visible subs too, although I am pretty sure it's suppose to be there... Just like d3v, any help is appreciated.
  20. Yeah, me too. BTW, checked with AnimeSuki, and confirmed that the tracker is indeed down for the moment.
  21. Since the head of AiA-IZ has leave for Japan, no news has come from the group. It's good to presume that they had abandoned the project. BTW, Zinjo, we do have a thread regarding the fansub groups, so use it for similiar questions like this one next time.
  22. BTW, is it just me, but is the gg's tracker is down? My uTorrent shows that HTTP Error 500, and I can't access the tracker's website, even using a proxy site.
  23. A question: is the DYRL mod of VOXP has a intro movie? Because I didn't see anything but a black screen. Have no problem with other version of VOXP, though...
