  1. For those who support the Galaxy-Vajra conspiracy theory, here's an interesting post I write earlier in the episode 9 discussion thread: FYI, Dancing Skull squadron meet those things in 2022, and the earliest account of Vajra is on 2040.
  2. What, I thought that since episode 8, we should have a clear idea of what Japanese people really want?
  3. Well, welcome to MW, pub333! Well, I had seen most MW members recommend 1/55 Bandai valks if you ever get a hand of it. They have a sturdy body, and has a good articulation for a 80s toy. Anyway, this is not the right forum to ask your question. You should go to Toys forum instead.
  4. Talks about Vajra-Galaxy conspiracy, guess what I found from Macross M3's page from Macross Compendium... FYI, Dancing Skull squadron meet those things in 2022, and the earliest account of Vajra is on 2040.
  5. That, or the director insisted that the real stuffs are better than those CG and holograph.
  6. Well, it's in the Macross Compendium: Link For what is that "fluid pulse actuators" thing, I have no idea. Maybe it's just another variation of the hydraulic pistons, but with some improvements from OverTechnology?
  7. Well, I also notice that too, d3v. Seeing the nature of the VF-0 as the experimental plane, maybe VF-0 also wish to test the Block-6 cockpit to see if it's usable and more effective than the older cockpits (aka TV version cockpit) in real combat.
  8. Actually Morpheus, I think the "over 50 handles/knob/button/lever" sentence is an overstatement, as the cockpit itself don't seem to be as many handles/knob/button/lever as you think (to be precise, it's 3 handles+1 throttle, and an unknown amount of knob/button, but that's just because I'm lazy to count ) http://www.new-un-spacy.com/sdfmacross/vf-...itexterior2.gif Compare it to the cockpit of the Block-6 VF-1: http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macrossdyrl/vf...pitcontrols.gif For the more precise info about those pesky controls in Block-6 VF-1 and future VF, I think JBO explains it quite well. And yeah, the arms movements are a mystery and very hard to figure it out, but I think you can see how this topic go, as this topic also dealing with the same question you asked.
  9. Just one correction: I do believe the button itself is the button to fire missiles, as shown in the opening battle of DYRL?, and the aiming is done using eyes alone, as shown in Macross Zero. And by pushing the tapets, you will able to fire the gunpod. But otherwise, nice post! And before I forgot, welcome to MW, J.T. Silversmith!
  10. tankf77: Well, it's a debatable topic. Well it's known that VF-0 and VF-1 can use only use ECA in Battroid mode, there is not official information for the rest of variable fighters. BTW, there's a topic discussing the ECA itself, you might interest to check it out: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=24329 EDIT: Nay, even the nature of ECA in VF-1 is disputed. See the below link for more info. http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...4673&st=860
  11. Well, speak of myself, I always prefer that a 25-episode (plus or minus 1) tv series works fine with me. I always felt Gundam 50-episode format sometimes give me the feeling that they spread the butter too thin ie. stretching the story for the sake of it and clip shows. And 13 episodes is really too short for to tell a good story, unless the director is a very good one. 25 episodes feels more moderate: not too short, but not too long.
  12. Talking about moving a VF, I always wonder how the pilot control the arms movement like Alto's valk grabbing Ranka with two hands? I mean, in that situation, you can hold Ranka with either a hand (Like Hikaru did to Mimmay in DYRL?)or two hands, so how pilots suppose to determine which methods to use?
  13. Well, oreillyrel, when you mean "I look forward to the Macross II corrections/retractions described above.", do you mean this? Mm... First thing first, do you have EB #51 yourself? And do you found any other specs that really are RPG stats, such as the other stats for the VF-2SS (empty weight, power plant etc)? Trying to tell us more about this will help March and those working for the Compendium to improve their sites. BTW, March, don't give up! I really like your site.
  14. Yup, it's originated from A-9B Invader, an design from Air Cavalry Chronicle, which later becomes Escaflowne, one of Shoji's best non-Macross show.
  15. Well, I'm not too sure, as like March, I got it from Homeless of MAHQ. I have to ask him to confirm where it comes from...
  16. Generally, our MW members don't like Super Robots. But I'm ok with Supers, and I think SRX + R-Gun combination is quite cool.
  17. I don't have a cookie... But I have pineapple salad instead. Do you want one?
  18. This is not the first time, as I also seen a member who correctly predicted the name of VF-25. But still, for now it's All Hail wolfx!!!
  19. Here's the second page of Mr March's scans posted earlier in this thread: http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/8708/hj0807130zj5.jpg
  20. Alright, now we know the REAL answer for this question. S.M.S= Strategic Military Services. Thanks MrMarch for providing the info.
  21. Refer to the entry of Macropedia in Macross Mecha Manual: So yeah, it's still correct to call any variable fighter a Valkyrie, even if it's not VF-1. EDIT: BTW, VF does stands for variable fighter, as shown in this entry at Macross Compendium. For all newbies, I recommend both Macross Mecha Manual and Macross Compendium as the main web page to search when in doubt, as they offer a lot of information of the Macross franchise.
  22. Well, I recommend you to watch Macross Plus (available in OVA version and Movie version) if you haven't watch it. It's one of the best Macross show, if it wasn't the best. Also remember to see DYRL, the movie version (sort of) of the original series. For Macross 7... While, some say it's ok, some hated it. Remember this, through, when you see Macross 7: it's basically a show about a J-pop singer who happens to ride a fancy valks. With that mentality, I sure you will enjoy Macross 7 more.
  23. One question: why some people called the Bandai's 1/55 as Chunky Monkey? What's the origin of that name?
  24. Thanks for your help, March! Is it just me, or are the two rectangular holes on the central ventral fuselage in the middle of the two gunpods also the exit ports of the missiles launcher, too?
  25. Another one: how many exit ports for micro-missiles exist on YF-21? I only saw four on the central dorsal section, 4 (?) at the forward section, and see none on the sides of engine nacelles, which both Macross Mecha Manual and Macross Compedium seems to indicate there is.
