  1. I hope the last episode is an hour long, just don't see how everything....Ok most of everything can really get answered without it being "well its your interpretation what happened". Just seems likes its gonna be a rushed ending. Hope I am wrong.

Also, I watched episode 24 (Subbed) again this morning. Instead of Flashbacks, wish hey just did a whole flashback episode about the SDF-GLOBAL, and the 117th convoy, Ranka's family....would have been better. But where does it look like Alto bails out as some have pointed out? Before he fly's past Bremen/Ranka's brother?

Also Leon is a d@#che-bag, he's gonna get everyone killed!!

  2. I can't find a direct side view of the line art to measure the width of the tail fins and the height of the engines, but it looks like the line art would work to me...(barely).

Assuming the fins hing at the green dot, the actual length (blue arrow) of the fins shouldn't matter much. In theory they could be as long as the entire lower leg. It's the width (red arrow) of the fins that needs to be smaller than the height of the legs to fit. And it looks like it is, so I don't know why the length of the fins looks so unnecessarily small in the line art we're seeing.

I completely agree with DANTH, The tails can easily fit inside, and the pictures here confirm that. Don't get cheap on us Yamato, as your prices are Not. And for the arms, just use Aluminum or Diecast. To many issues with Plastics. For the tails on the legs, there is no reason why with newer technologies they (Yamato) can not make it work properly!!! B))

  3. Trust me on this, the new 1/60 VF-11B looks fantastic in all three modes. It is a huge improvement over the old 1/72.

The vertical tail fins while not as big as the lineart, are bigger than the ones on the original 1/72 toy.

I can't speak for durability, cus' I haven't actually handled one yet, but I've seen lots of photos of all three modes I think you guys will be more than happy with how it looks.

    Graham

Sounds like we are getting closer to some type of release date or at lease a sneak peek....hint, hint!! When you actually get one Graham, let us know what ya think of it!!! I'm saving up in my piggy bank for this one!!! :D

  4. Bare in mind too that the VF-1 Valkyrie fighters were original designed as far back as 1981-82. High tech for the day with many features off of modern fighters for that time like the F-14 & F-15. In DYRL in 1984 The VF-1 Valkyries received an update in the flight controls like that of the F-16 Falcon, with fly-by-wire control sticks.

As to the VF-0 Phoenix, I think Kawamori designed it to look very advanced with every bell & whistle on it, and as is usually true in Fighter plane development for mass production, everything that doesn't need to be there gets scrapped. and what your left with is a good solid/simplified fighter. Though of everything the VF-1 did not receive, it got the thermonuclear engines which made it a space bound fighter.

Thus the VF-1 having a smaller frame, Better engines and a much simpler body frame for ease of maintenance. Just think of the VF-0 being an F-14. Big, beautiful, expensive & very hard to maintain. The VF-1 is the F-18 Super Hornet, Smaller, sporty, less expensive and a maintenance workers dream.

I know this comparison is my own opinion and general, buts its the best way to describe the differences. I have my VF-0 & VF-1 side by side and every time I look at them, this is what comes to mind.

  5. Seriously, should we lock the thread until there's REAL news/pics? It'd spare people a lot of hope/disappointment when they see there's a new post. I mean, we've had 2 full pages of nothing but "I saw a post and thought there was news, but there isn't". And that just leads to more people...

I'm still excited about this future release because the VF-11B is without doubt probably my favorite Valkyrie design, as really it does not look or resemble any Modern Day US or Russian fighter I have ever seen. Plus a Gunpod with a Bayonet...Love it!!

However, Yamato is being either very hush, hush about this 1/60. Or its a ways off from being done. Instead of a darkened silhouette of what they have.... show us a concept picture or something, So I have to agree on maybe putting this thread on hold til some real info comes out!!!

  6. YES!!!! Yamato, make Hikaru's Fan Jet!!! Make it in 1/48 or 1/60 scale with a hikaru civilian flightsuit pilot, opening cockpit and a minmei that sits on his lap along with a giant Maguro!!!!

    That would be sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Please yamato?

Who else wants one of those?

    [/quote

Lets do it !!!!!!!! Come on Yamato or Bandai, you can do it !!!

  7. Hey RichterX, being a little sarcastic there...... <_< Or are we just making it clear that a VF-171 is a no-brainer and must have for ones collection if they made it.

  8. hey Hikuro, I finally got see some of your work you've been doing with the DYRL Movie. Sounds really good so far, especially who ever is doing Misa's voice. As far as the background sound effects, will that be adjusted, it does sound a bit off, or is that all gonna be done with the finished product?

    Keep up the good work!!

  9. I just watched all 22 episodes in the past two days. Not exactly sure where this is headed but i think it definitely has some kind of tie in with Macross Zero hence all of the strong nods to that series in past episodes; i like the idea that the Vajra could be descendants of Shin/Sara.

I am curious about the Shin/Sara theory, But I agree that in the end, that the Vajra & the events of Macross Zero are all gonna tie together somehow. We even see Sara's sister Mao in one of the Flashbacks... So lets see what unfolds!!

  10. Yes again, for the reasons that graham has stated in both of his proposals. Definately, VF-11 and other Mac+ valks, the VF-0 Line and SV-51. Alternate payloads missiles gunpods excetra.....fuel air bomb anyone?

Oh, and I do have the ability to build nice models but I don't always have the time to do it. It would be nice to have nice looking fighters without having to invest all the time and money into a model. Believe it or not you guys, but building a model, well, is alot more expensive than just buying a kit.

    Chris

The Fuel-Air Bomb would be a great touch, can't say you have all the weapons accessories without that piece of destruction!! B))

  11. Hey guys, I was just watching Macross Frontier episode 23, This series just gets better & darker.. I love it!! Now as my title suggests, is there any connection here between Macross Frontier & Zero. What I mean by that is, When you see the Vajra home planet at about 17:50 minutes running time, You tell me that formation on the planets surface does not look strangely like the Bird-Man when he was aboard the ASUKA II. Where the so-called blood for Mao was coming out.

Also this series is so far suggesting that the Vajra can Fold in & out of space, yet they are creature like, have Beam cannons and explode like machines/mecha and Ranka is somehow connected to these creatures. Same with the bird man in M ZERO, Sarah was able to link up with it, the Bird man had giant weapons, seemed almost creature like and could perform a space fold as well.

So is it possible that the Bird man was an ancient form of the Vajra? Maybe a smarted decedent than what we see now. I guess thats why I love this new Macross series so much, It ties lots of the old series into it and it tests your imagination, not to mention your curiosity as the plot is still unfolding.

Either way, The Bird Man and the Ruins he was attached too, All came from outer space & not Earth.... So from where?

So Not sure if this idea has already pondered up or I am the only crazy one out there with this theory, But this is just what came to my mind when I saw episode 23 today!!!

  12. more like there not interested in doing large scake non-transfroming stuff (we got the SV-51's didn't we), though now that there doing the destroids, they may do more large scale mechs, assuming that the Destroids do well...

Yes they did make the SV-51's, however that was kind of a given.... Silly not to make them. I am referring to Zentraedi & Meltrandi units. But either way, only time will tell what these companies decide........

  13. I'd echo most of the sentiment here. I'd rather buy a Hasegawa for fighter only. But since Yamato owns the license for Mac+, a GNU Enemy Battle Suit would be incredible. Full articulation, opening & closing missile ports, etc...

Good luck friend, Seems like Yamato is just not into doing Enemy Aircraft!!! (Were lucky they made Milia & Max's suits) But if they did do the Mac+ Battle suit, that would be awesome!!!!!!!!
