I can't remember which game it was, but it was almost card battle like and very very old school. It was turned based and I must have stayed up 12 hours straight playing it, from the late night hours till the wee hours in the morning and what not going from the Saiyan Saga, training with King Kai, and than going to the Freiza Saga. I remember also there was a cheat when your fighting freiza, have one of your guys die and Goku will go Super Saiyajin and Walah! instant win!

that's right, We remember back 2 years ago, DBZ Budokai was infact one of the most anticipated Dragon Ball releases since Ultimate Battle 22 back in the PS days. The game was infact very much molded like UB22 except UB22 didn't have a storyline, it was a solid fighter base like DOA etc. Budokai featured full polygon rendered designs and backgrounds giving a "3D" feel for the DBZ characters. A storyline was introduced loosey from the original series, following the events from the Saiyan Saga till the fall of Cell against Gohan. People enjoyed the game even dispite its flaws such as not being able to jump, and how the fighting did get blah with it being difficult to perform certain combinational moves, not too mention people really didn't like the 3D poylgon characters, it just wasn't "DBZ" like. Following that, Atari went ahead and produced Budokai 2 which was the next big seller for the DBZ marketing line. However, I passed on this game due to its poor ratings. While people thought the Cel shade animation style was a pleasent and needed touch for the game, it presented this "Board game" style of moving thru the storyline which was tidious and slow. Finally last week, Budokai 3 appeared, presenting the same graphics style as 2, with a new setting, an RPG like battle system where you roam thru the Dragonball world aka Dragonworld, and pick fights to get experince. Once you reach a level you recieve skill points to make yourself stronger thru Health, Ki, Attacks, Guards, Abilities, Art, etc. You progress from the Saiyan Saga till the end of the Buu Saga very loosely. However, unlike the 1st game where the graphics went with a storyline as watching th echaracters animate thru, its replaced with a character profile and a word bubble. At times, the voice actors didn't appear to be speaking and just go thru the word bubble. You move around the world, collecting items, meeting old characters and even finding the Dragon Balls which is VERY difficult without the Dragon Radar which you have to stumble upon. Thru each moment of the story you fly around Dragonworld to go to the next point of the game. You'll seem to go thru Dragonworld in and out thru each story line till your able to fight. Following every heavey battle, you'll get sometimes 2-4 Skill points to add on to your Skills guages. You mostly want to focus on your Health, Ki and Attacks. The fighting system hasn't changed much at all, except now you'll have the ability of "Dragon Rush" where after you go Hyper mode and do a combination of moves you'll enter a Cinimatic cut scene where you have 3 rounds to press either Triangle, Square, Circle or X to execute your power house move. In those 3 rounds your opponent has the ability to guess which button you pushed to counter. If your successful thru out all 3 rounds you'll deal a heaping amount of damage and possibly even instant killing your opponnent based on his health strength. However, if you don't execute Hypermode correctly you can loose your Ki and be fatigued for a certain amount of time. Also returned is the rushed attack where you and your opponent lock fists in a speeding combination of kicks and punches in which the fighter whose rotating his analog stick the fastest will win and have a chance to execute a powerful combination of moves. Also in correct moments of game play while your fighting you can Zanzuken (Teleport) and play Pin Ball with your opponent taking a good amount of damage to him and also wiping out a fair amount of your Ki, every teleport you do will take 1 Ki gauge. You also have the ability to do fast moving dodges at close range by using your guard. This will also use up your guage at vast amounts. After beating the game with every character I have to say the Dragonworld is a let down, however knowing you have have ALOT of players in the World Tournament is exciting to say the least. However, it takes alot of work to prepare such a thing, afterall you wanna get every skill you can for your friends. World Tournament modes are difficult, there are so many factors which can either help you win, or loose such as going out of bounds, being KO'ed etc, get anywhere behind 2nd place and you don't earn any cash to get skills for multiplayer modes really....so its fairly difficult. My impression of the game is simple, its not for everyone, its your regular class of fighter games, it STILL has its limitations which were present in the first 2 games. However the improved Cel Shaded graphics to help authenticate the DBZ likeness is a MAJOR Plus. Voice Acting is medicore at best, these guys have been voice acting the DBZ characters for 6 or 7 years now, you'll see t hey do seem to get fairly tired of it with nearly 300 episodes, 13 movies not including DB or DBGT. 40 characters to play in the game is a nice round number, more than UB22, or infact any DBZ game, featuring those from DB/Z/GT and the movies such as Brolli, Cooler and even a SSJ4 Goku WIIGII! But the game does get rather tiring, and you might only be able to stomach 10 minutes of it at least Music is rescored and the opening music is actually nice to listen too! How the hell did that happen?! Also it looks like Toei got up and did a nice opening sequence for the game with top knotch DBZ like animation just like mama use to make. All in all, decent game, nice opening, decent music, and gameplay, its better if you got friends to mess around with however, otherwise its only a game to play when your bored as hell, there just really isn't much to do at all.

Agreed its kinda pointless without the pics isn't it?

I checked out the second disc lastnight, it contains a 5.1 dobly digital audio english track, Character gallery, UC Timeline.....okay this pisses me off it goes from 0080, swings into 0093 with CCA, than it whacks around the 100's till the end of F91 which a brief mention of F90. English version with Commentary, which was HORRIBLE! You couldn't hear the movie let alone what people were saying in the background! And than movie trailers, trailers consisted of Gundam F91, where the music was so loud you couldn't hear anything else but it was enough you ask yourself if that was on purpose or just being lazy. Than Gundam SEED which was screwed up, "It's the year AC195.......and two friends will fight.......for their destiny" or something like that, but it clearly showed AC 195..........................dorks....... After that was the Gundam Battle Assault 3 SEED Game which is probably one of the junkiest games for the PS2, not worth the cash, infact NONE of the Gundam BA games are worth it, just jumbling a bunch of Mobile suits, specificly SEED into multicombat enviorments poorly rendered and finished. DONE!

Really the only games I think are worth playign Mecha wise if not Gundam than Zone of the Enders, atleast you got really really cool moves like a Vector Canon coming out of another dimension of space and time to just rip the hell out of anything in range, and than you got Zero-Shift going from one point to another in a blink of an eye oooohhhhhhh yeah!

Yeah.....the moment I heard her voice I fired a few missiles at her....she's like this tiny lil tan colored blip o nthe screen and said "SHE'S COMING RIGHT FOR US!" .......but like the legend says, you can't kill minmay......ESPICALLY the American Minmay....oh god......that's like Godzilla and Mothra having a baby....its super invicible and annoying.
-
DSS was a pain in the ass to get use too, if you don't hit it at the right time nothing will happen, it blips out of there too quickly. Two player was kinda fun, I burnt it to CD and played it with a friend, but since the music was all freaked out I just had to use my old OST before it was stolen from my car.

lol I should talk to my friend Harry, he modded his Xbox with the 120 Gigs and what not, not sure if he's gone live or not, I should ask

The big point of the game even theh developers mentioned this "There is a use for all 3 modes, and you gotta use them to each his own during certain times" When I had to protect Graystone, I would be in one area and would have to go clear cross another and attack a hord of pods. So I would use Battloid during my attacks and keep them spread, than I would use my after burners in fighter mode, launch as many missiles as possible and during the explosions I'd transform and let out all the ammo I could while my missiles came back up, than do it all over again. When you have to destroy the recon ships with the protoculture and can't let one of them escape, you gotta do the same thing, let it all go and barrel roll from pods. If you use that cheat I mentioned, it helps ALOT more.

If you watch now and than, the frame size changes a few inches on the wide screen scale. Not too mention I think a few frames somewhere were skipped, I can't remember. I really do wish however it was turned into a series, I feel that this really got raped in the worst way

Atleast you can get it in the states and play it without having to mod your PS2. The games just fine, its not perfect but it'll atleast give you an idea of what NOT to do when making a video game The perks is simple, you get the pilot a wide array of VF-1's, from the A Cannon Fodder, to Skull One, to the YF-1R prototype variant. You got a medal system in which if you kill a certain number of enemy units or complete a mission in a specific manner, you get special deals like paint schemes or Veritech fighters or Behind the Scenes interviews with the cast and crew....(Reba West is OOOOLLLLLD) There's also a cheat, if you get the Fast pack system, and go back to a space battle where you can equip it, you can continue USING that pack as long as you don't save and quit. I use to just play the first two missions over and over and over till I had over 500 kills of both Regult and Fighter pods. It also allows you to practice your snipping abilities so you can get the stealth armor after killing 50 Power Armors. The downsides is like mentioned, you do alot of guard duty, be it Copters, Recon planes, Destroids, citizens etc....its all part of being a Robotech Defender Some game mistakes which are very easy to spot, lack of SFX was a big issue, Regults would be walking around, and there'd be no sound of their legs stomping about, or late SFX's from cannon firing, to walking, to even having some storyline pieces cut out. There's a transformation error where when going to any form and into Battloid, the wings will dissappear completely. But it has it's up times when your sliding down a hill with a few Zentradie targets firing at you and all you do is just slide from one end to another shootin at them....that was something I liked was the sliding and strafing around. Worth 10 bucks easily, but myself, I paid 60 bucks I think cause I went collectors edition thinking the game was gonna turn out really nice. Also if you notice, there seems to be a Jack Archor following of fans, believe it or not, its odd, but I can't say I'm a Jack Archor fan, I did like his color scheme for his Veritechs.

You know what, I haven't looked but from what I remember it was Mobile Suit designs for the movie, a timeline, I think an interview with one of the production staff members from Japan......hmmmmmm that's all I can remember, I just know that the second disc is sorta a waste.

You sure? I remember it being posted here before.

Comin along, nice job...................wish my computer would work I WANT MY PG STRIKE!!

Twin Moons has had it for I think a lil over a week now, Tam got his shipment real early. I liked the dub it wasn't bad at all, espically the vocal radio effects and such, I'm a sucker for that. The story is weak in my oppinion, but it easily gets made up with the mobile suit designs and action. And you don't really have to focus to much into the music to hear some Starwars in there

True GC's are cheaper, by a good 70 dollars. For the price of 1 Xbox is 1 Gamecube and maybe 1 new game, however you can't watch movies or play CD's on you Gamecube because of the disc size being so small. Not too mention there is no online feature, Gamecube is on its own in this department. But to make up for some of this stuff you can connect you GBA to your Gamecube with the right attatchments and play on your TV when your at home. Now "Cool" with Halo or Halo2 in general.... I'm not a big FPS fan, if anything I try to avoid it....I don't like playing games where I can't easily see my enviorment surrounding me, trees, rocks, CLIFFS! Etc....not too mention I'm not into the whole survival deal, where you gotta get new weapons to replace those which are out of ammo. I'd rather just go full blaze and shoot every single little thing in existance....but that's what makes the game go dull so quickly, infinite ammo, it also ruins the realism of a FPS. Halo will also cause you a few jumps of "WTF?!" from time to time, cause you there are things you don't see coming, and the Covenent can get so far spread out that you can't count their numbers so easily. Thus you kind of start running around getting shot at, and when ya look around, there's one of those lil midgets right there screamin "BAD GUY!" Voice Acting is nicely done as well, the Sarg, Cortana, even the Master Chief at times make pretty bad ass remarks, "Time to stop wettin the bed and get out there and fight! Mommy ain't gonna whipe your ass with cotton soft toilet paper before you die!"

Yep, its a pretty funny video, I think maybe 2 or 3 people have showed this here....can't remember

Makes you wanna develope a clan that beats the snot outta people like that and call them "Fags" later on lol. Tell you what though, if my friend Yu had DSL he'd do Xbox Live and would probably get some good rankings, I mean litterally if your just a lil itty bitty spot on the screen its a headshot 0_o. He's like that Harrison ford movie where the marines are trying to find the sniper and you hear this, "He was here! Looks like he was eatin a quarter pounder with cheese!"
-
lol doesn't help me at all! I gotta find a way to order it online thru someones computer and use a money order to pay for it or something.
-
Heh I pretty much stopped playing the game, it got old really really quick, so I'm more than likely gonna ditch the game, seeing that I also have way to many PS2 games, I like to try and keep things balanced between my GC, PS2 and Xbox.

Granades work too to bad you can only hold 8

0_o I'm not gettin anything else Nintendo wise after I bought my Gamestation, I mean Gamecube That thing is personally I think meant to draw in the younger kids who aren't into the whole DVD/CD player scheme like PS and Microsoft who aim for older teens and adults. I mean wow Nintendo was the head honcho way back in the 80's and early 90's, even Sega had a really hard time to catch up, than WHAM! Here comes Playstation who takes them all out and leads Sega into never producing a game system again, and Nintendo resulting in cheap knock offs like the 64 which didn't last long....than Playstation thought it had the world under its feet than WHAM! Hello Xbox now really no one even CARES what Nintendo does really. Its just Microsoft and SONY. Nintendo is gonna go away with the Sega and Atari I think REALLY soon, even with the DS. BUT BACK ON TOPIC! I played just 30 minutes lastnight and now I'm back to the covenent side.....I REALLY hate the freaking flood they're harder to kill in this game than the last. Not too mention I seem to be a bit stuck cause Sentinals are sorta ridin my tushie everywhere I turn. I did learn that Energy Swords will take out the Flood in one smack, which is benefical if you can find one, get it....even if your the Master Chief, you find flood, ya nail 'em with the sword! I have a small feeling I'll finish it this weekend....

Official Gundam Plamodel Thread
Hikuro replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Not only tighter joints, and wings falling off, but the WHOLE back pack would come down, I found the problem to exist even with other Wing kits to the point I glued the bloody thing on to its back which STILL didn't help much at all. Its times like these Models need auto balancers.....
