Yep, there's a big difference between moving forward, and merely getting your ducks in a row, which seems to be the case here. In the rt.com thread, Memo welcomes the "naysayers", and it looks like even that director is kinda a naysayer at this point. I agree that this news doesn't mean that it isn't anywhere closer to getting made. When there's a greenlight, then I'll say OK, WB (not HG) is working on it. I know that's something Tommy, Kevin, and Memo like to forget and they make these half-assed comments that associate HG with this project. Aside from negotiating with WB in getting the rights and the sort, this is WB's baby, and they're either gonna do it, or not. HG can't take credit for any news coming from this.

Looking for a director could mean they have enough of a script done to start asking around for potential directors. The part that everyone is skipping is the not greenlit portion. I wouldn't be popping off the Champagne yet either, with the possible director. "I Know What You Did Last Summer 3"??? "Stomp the Yard"??? Not stuff I'd be bragging about so much. I can see it now, Rickie Hunter pop lockin' with a broom stick in Very Tek fighter training. Good F!@kin' Grief!!!

If they redid SDF: Macross, this is how it should be done. So far, I'm loving it.

Who knows, probably just garbage writing, even from the big name writers. I've heard stories of some of them just writing something to get paid, especially if it's something they don't necessarily want to work on. What's funny is that HG still boasts thes writers as "still working on the LAM", which they probably turned out some incoherent garbage, got a fat paycheck, then went on their merry way. That's probably why they went with a no namer. Maybe he may actually care about it. Still, it's been stuck in preprod hell, and after seeing Clash of the Titans, looks like Hades himself is gonna keep that thing where it belongs.

I thought that the pic of Hikaru's "license" was cool, and now I want one of those Skull Team hats. But yeah, I noticed all the clothes he had on were quite large. This series really makes me drool over Minmay. She's so damn cute in this. Well, same with Misa. Speaking of, is 7th Code, will they put it back in later issues? Yeah, forgot to mention that. Pretty cool designs. OK, what was the girl in the Diebuster looking spacesuit for the Mechatronix? Not a bad looking design, just never saw it before. I also noticed a Cospa Fire Bomber wind breaker/jacket priced at like 4650 yen. I'm in. I'm gonna get one. Too awesome to pass up.

What time did you go there? I was there since I'm working across the street for 4 weeks. I went on my break at 1035 hrs, got my Chronicle #45. Wasn't all that interesting of an issue. Not like #43 and #44, with the various Valks. Macross Ace had some interesting pics in the "mechatronics" section, some space suit I haven't seen in Macross, and a Valkyrie with 6 legs, 4 wings, 4 arms, and Klan sitting on top of it. What the hell was that about?

Agreed. Although, I've never had the feeling of having to accept it as continuity. I've seen enough anime to run into shows and series that weren't great in design, or CG, or even animation, but the story was there, and it was still very enjoyable. I've also seen anime that didn't have the greatest of stories, but the animation and animatography was awesome. Even that is fun to watch. RTSC had neither, so even with the bad budget, there's no excuse for it being so bad. I wouldn't say most fans, just the more vocal ones. The thinking of those few have been so warped and skewed, that you have to wonder if they even are able to think for themselves in anything else. People hanging off of every word HG says like life depends on it is just stupid. I also find it funny that anyone who has questions, or doubts about if HG is really doing anything is always asked by the RT fanatics to "back up your statement", yet when HG has no way, or refuses to backup their "facts", it's taken at face value. That's the kind of "thinking" that makes me laugh every time. If I had an account over there, I'd ask that, but then again, they read here everyday, so I'm sure that's a question they'll "gracefully skip".

Is that pic supposed to be a rendition of real actors portraying Macross characters? If so, it's more reason why a LAM could = epic fail. Agreed on that being one of the ugliest pics I've seen of the characters. The art style isn't so bad though.

No Beagle Blow Superior... that blows superior...
Jasonc replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
With Beagle not continuing, it appears this is about all we're gonna get. I don't know any other company that would put out another version. It is unfortunate, too. I like the scale of the Toynami/Aoshima, just can't stand the quality. The CMs Beta is awesome, just can't stand the off-scale issue. I've been looking into trying to get some of the CDs and the Love, Live, Alive footage. Did that ever come out on DVD, or LD, or anything like that? -
Got my email from Kinokuniya, Ace 004 is in. Gubaba, I'm sure they ntfd you. I'll be getting it tomorrow. Awesome stuff.

All those fans who submitted "their" stuff. Yeah, sorry man. That's why I kept my stuff. If I sent pics of my customs, they'd probably send a letter asking for my toys.

When I originally saw Robotech, I was thinking "What is this protoculture thing? It's not in Macross! They translated it wrong." Then when the Southern Cross happened, I knew it was taken to the chop shop. I used to have all those Revell model kits. Unfortunately, my modelling skills weren't up to par then, and I butchered the Roy Focker one (whatever it was called by Revell).

That's our good ol' HG there, have fans do all the work, and HG will take the credit. Why do people even try to bother getting the blessings of the dysfunctional morons over there? Just like the "fan artbook" project. That guy, Brian McAfee has been trying to get HG to give him permission to do his book, but they've been giving him the runaround for sometime. Why even bother. If you're gonna do something as a labor of love, just do it. The second you get the company involved, it becomes a "how can we make this ours and make money off of it" ordeal. If the C&D was written for someone who wasn't working on the project at the time, and not to Nenad or anyone else actually working on it, doesn't that kinda nullify the letter? I still think they should put it out like they had planned, as a free episode, and see what HG actually does. My guess, is that they wouldn't do a damn thing. Are they really going to fly to serbia for some court issue over a fan project? Something that isn't done by a company, but by a fan, as a fan project? I'm sure, proving the no money made, not sold, not done as a profit is easy to prove, even if they wanted to try to waste money on a lost cause.
-
I think they know they've been given the runaround, but they just pretend that it isn't the runaround. To admit that, would mean that they've been wrong for a looonnnggg time. From where the video came from, and from seeing Maverick's post up there, it's a one-two punch of epic fail in getting anything right. Well, that anchors down the misinformation society pretty well. Knowing that as being a straight up lie throws everything they try to push with a bigger question mark (as if there wasn't one already). On top of that, having the angry little crackhead podcaster trying to find info on you is quite odd, too. Speaking of lil dougie, he tried to add me as a "friend" on Facebook. Then proceeds to talk crap about me. He must've gotten his feelings hurt by me not adding him. Seems like he gets mad cause he can't make friends, and has to take it out somewhere. Someone should ask him what it is that hurt him so bad, hahaha. Poor wounded lil guy.

OK, quick update. I have just finished the arms (decals, penciling, and dullcoating) and have those in the next pic coming tonight. Also, I have the wings done. Had some trouble with the paint leaving too many bubbles, and had to do the Pinesol and clean not once, but twice. anyways, I'm good to go with those. All I need to do now is the tail fins, which I've started, and the cockpit, and she'll be ready to be put together and with some luck, transform with no trouble. Pic will go up tonight with what is done.

In regards to the Scorpions, I usually listen to their song Tease me Please me while I'm gardening and pool cleaning at rich, cute debutante's houses.

How did that info come that he was saying that? That has got to be some of the dumb $hit I've heard in a long time. It's one thing starting a rumor that may sound half true, or be half true, but this is just strange science fiction. Almost better plot than Shadow Chronicles Dude, I am so telling on you. Why are you helping to destroy Robotech?
-
I almost forgot. Here's the one pic I took of the group. Good turnout with some great guys. Till next decultcha! In the pic are Tom Bateman, NightmareB4macross, Bobe-Patt, Bigkid24, Maiden Japan, Gubaba, Mitch, and Sktch's arm. I'm behind the camera. Should've taken pics of Bee's house and the small shindig there. Nice display of collections and a great discussion of "things coming in the near future". Poker was a blast as well.

All this crap makes me think of the "Bad Boys" song from COPS tv show. The exception to HG, is that they seem to have this paranoia that everyone is out to get them. You know, cause Robotech SC is just ever so precious, it's one of those American classics that will last for-EVAH!!! Aside from Nenad's own stuff that they took, which is more of a serious matter, this whole killing of their fanart just makes me laugh. It almost makes you wonder just how easy it'd be to torment them by doing, dare I say, drawings of Robotech mecha and characters?

Hahaha, my favorite cereal. I wonder what goodie comes in that box?

Silly Rabbit, HG politics is for kids!
-
And stupid actions like this, wether known by all or not, will always keep Robotech on a slow slide downhill. There really isn't a growing fanbase, so they should be kissing the ass of what fans are left. Maybe they'll catch on eventually after about 5 years of "we're working on something, but we can't say anything." Again, I'll stress, this is why I'm so glad Macross isn't in their hands here. I'd rather pay a little extra for all the Macross goods. Consider that a "non-tainted tax".

I'd like to see them start sending C&D orders to people who do custom toys because they're better than their precious MPCs. I'd like to get one of their C&D letters for that. I'd wipe my @$$ with it and leave it on their front step. What Nenad should do is simply get his stuff that isn't HG's back then take the art that is RT related and put it on every site he can, so that all of us can daily post pics of it up everywhere. It'd definitely give them at HG something to do other than twiddle their thumbs and find ways to screw their fandom. It's reasons like this that remind me of why I should be ever so thankful that BW didn't cave into HGs way of bringing Macross over. After the celebration and all the hoopla is done, HG needs to just end the RT thing. It is painfully obvious that they don't want intelligent fans. And regarding Memo's statement on rtx.com...WTF? See, that's why it's best to just not say anything. Nenad is trying to say what is going on, and HG's closest official spokesperson is talking about why this all happened without having a clue of what the issue is. Sighup, I don't know what to tell you about your site. It won't go down, as all the artwork that's on there is all Tommy's art. As it's stroked the ego, you're in the clear. As much as that news wants to get me pissed, I can't really get upset at it anymore. If you are a RT fan, and pissed though, don't get mad, get even. If they're gonna kick their fans in the groin over and over, the fans need to return the favor. Edit: Another point I wanted to make was this...since what was taken down was fan art (talking about the RT stuff), Nenad should fight that tooth and nail. The non RT stuff goes without question.

Adrian's Custom Destroid Defender "Pain Killa" . . .
Jasonc replied to miriya's topic in The Workshop!
That's an interesting paint scheme indeed. My compliments for a great custom paint job.
