Are you Zak? They banned you and then left the post up? Why get banned at all. I'm stumped. I lurk there but I don't post on public pages.

Another missed opportunity. The book series Monster Hunter International could absolutely be the next break out franchise but no one is taking the risk. Probably not Avengers big. But it could be Matrix big. At a minimum it could be a killer TV (Netflix or something) series. Now that I think about it a bit it would be better as a TV series. That goes for most stuff though.

I had seen the movie before. Maybe in 2002ish when it was released and at the time it didn't exactly blow my skirt up. Lat night I was half b!tching to the wife that aside from superhero movies most of what comes out of Hollywood is crap. And frankly, the superhero movies aren't THAT good. I asked why are there no good dragon movies? The best dragon stuff I have seen in forever is the short bits on GOT. It seems like a no brainer with today's CGI. Who doesn't want to see dragons? I told her that I think the best dragon movie I ever saw was Reign Of Fire but it wasn't exactly great. So we watched it. I stand corrected. The movie was actually pretty good in that old school let's keep it simple and have fun sort of way that you don't see as much of anymore. I enjoyed it. Do I think it was great? No, not great like Aliens is great. But pretty darn good. Certainly worth the time to watch it. So there ya go. If you haven't seen it, give it a shot. If you have, maybe re-watch.

I was getting them from BBTS too. But they stopped selling them as far as I can tell (I just searched again). That's when I moved to Amazon. BBTS was $7/ stand with shipping. Amazon is $7.66/ with Prime. Not too shabby.

Almost as much fun as pool noodle! -
Will ya look at that. I stand corrected. Check your PM's. I sent some decal questions.

Target.....Wally World.......whatever it takes. Let's see if you get this pop culture reference. This by far my favorite "shop guy" thing to say. -

Saweeeeettt!!!! Is that the Wally World Exclusive? -
Geeeeeee, I would never do something like that^^^^^^ I have spent most of my life trying to stay away from paint because of my OCD issues. I have a really hard time "walking away" from CNC stuff. Or hoses/lines!!! I've literally spent days trying different ways of routing hoses/lines (pretty stuff) in cars. I'd never finish a car if I was doing the paint. I've got drawers full of AN hose fittings that look like your paint collection.

Well, all this talk about Chunkies re-kindled my Chunky drive. Time to spend a little more time on my Chunky collection/display. I had been eye balling a VF-1S Hikaru on eBay for reasonable money ($325) thinking I was going to steal the strike packs for another custom VF-1S Strike Focker (alreday made one from a Takatoku and Bandai SSP's). Then I thought to myself.....self, why not just convert the Hikaru into a Focker? Easy peasy. It alreday has the black heat shield which is the toughest part. The only "downside" is that this one will be bright white opposed to the grey/white. Not the end of the world. There is no way to keep DYRL continuity unless you use a Takatoku or old Bandai "Focker" and paint it with red to be a Hikaru anyway. That seems like a lot of work and $$ to end up with a SSP-less white VF-1S Hikaru. I guess we'll see how strong my OCD is.

Thank you sir! I think the Skystriker would have to hang from the ceiling. Is the Rattler the A10? I've always loved the A10's. -
That's a good idea! Doing it on your monitor is an exercise in futility. It took me FOREVER to figure out a "match" (it's still not perfect) for the Yamato Low Vis gray. In the end I got 4-5 different grays. Test sprayed them and then used the closest one. Soooooo, I have a lot of grey in stock. In the end it did work out ok having the SSP's slightly darker than the Valks. The M&M's wouldn't be as forgiving I think.

Have any of you paint matched the re-issue M&M's by any chance? I'd like to do some custom Fast Packs for them but getting that paint matched would be CRITICAL.

Right!!! That to me is probably the most nostalgic GI Joe. When I was 10-12ish my grandmother sent me one out of the blue from across the country. I had no idea it was coming. I got home from school one day and it was just there. I loved my grandmother like a mother. I miss her a lot. The other one for me just because it was my favorite was the the F-14 Skystriker. I'd like to have one of those too. No idea where I would put it through. I remember it being HUGE! Any idea how long that thing is? Your brother has 37 of them right? UPDATED: Cobra HISS purchased. They're so cheap, why not? -
Is there a trick/fix for the spring clip that holds the back in place in Battroid mode? I have a couple of older 80's units that are loose enough to where if you try and rotate the arms backward without holding on to the body it will lift the entire back off.

I don't think you can get the Focker specific stands separately. It's a Tamashi Stage Act 5 stand though. The Focker is just a different color. IMO the c;lear ones look better. I don't use the Focker stands 9but I don't want to sell them). This is a three pack: https://www.amazon.com/Tamashii-Nations-Bandai-Mechanics-Action/dp/B003F256QI/ref=pd_lpo_21_img_1/134-3902100-9476135?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B003F256QI&pd_rd_r=c292639d-4c72-4dbb-b934-e8d9e363d915&pd_rd_w=CqrrO&pd_rd_wg=RrfBf&pf_rd_p=7b36d496-f366-4631-94d3-61b87b52511b&pf_rd_r=BS83YEV13GMVBSFMRWWK&psc=1&refRID=BS83YEV13GMVBSFMRWWK

How are there no aftermarket SSP's for the Chunkies? Seems like a no brainer. And the clip in heat shields drive me nuts too. Ironically the only one I have a clip in heat shield on is arguably one of the rarest "grails" from the line. The VF-1S Strike Hikaru. That ugly non flush heat shield on that beauty is a real shame. What units came with screw in heat shields again? Or to be more specific which ones came with screw in cockpits and or heat shields again? All of the Tatkatoku and 1984 Bandai releases? Maybe I can find a junker with a cockpit to paint.

Sorry, I was just clarifying the "I believe" part for the rest of the crowd. I figured you had 27 of them or something.

How big is this thing? I'm trying to figure out of I have room. Thanks. -
The only 1J with a swappable heat shield is the 2008 re-re-releases.
