Yeah she is. I was watching her interviews on the Macross ADV DVDs and thought, "Damn she still looks good and really young." And how old is Mari now? Macross was almost 24 years ago so I figure she has to be in her 40's. But yeah she is still very much a cutie.

Yeah same here. But with my 7 year old nephew. Back when I had the Animeigo DVDs he would sit and watch them with me for a while because he loves the "planes turning into robots". But after a while he would leave because he had no idea what was going on. Then one day he picked up my copy of DYRL and wanted to watch it but when I told him it wasnt in english he changed his mind. So with the dubbed Macross DVDs I can make a new Macross fan! I know he will love the series now that he can understand what everyone is saying.

GERWALK mode looks great. Especially with the Fast Packs on.

I got my copy today. Couldnt find it at Best Buy or Suncoast, so went to some anime store in the local mall and they had it there. Was afraid to hear what Max was going to sound like but his voice actor is good. Has a deep voice like the japanese voice actor. Kakizaki's voice actor is good too. As well as Kamjin's. Now just need to hear what Millia's is going to sound like.

Only other anime I own is Cowboy Bebop. Its weird but Im not a big fan of anime. Only really love Macross because I watched it as a kid and now as an adult can appreciate the storyline and characters alot more. I got into Bebop just because I heard it was such a great series that I had to watch. I bought Session 1 and loved it. So only Cowboy Bebop so far I would say I am a fan of, but I have seen Blood The Last Vampire, and both Vampire Hunter D movies which I thought were good.

Yeah I have to admit that when I first heard the original soundtrack when watching the series I wasnt to fond of it. Probably because I was so use to the Robotech soundtrack. But like others mentioned, the music fits so well. The music really sets the mood without having that stupid narrator butting in all the time like on Robotech. All moments between Hikaru and Minmay, Hikaru and Misa are made all the better with the music.

Good Bye Girl. Misa looks great, the Super Valk looks great. Awesome. Oh did I mention Misa looks great? Cant wait to watch that episode again!

Runner with Mari singing it is my favorite vocal track as well. As well as Love Drifts Away. Excellent. I couldnt even begin to tell you which BG music track is my favorite since I dont know the titles.

Well just got my dubbed Macross DVd today. It is excellent. I am really glad I got back into Macross. The voices arent bad at all. Although I really dont care for Roy's or Global's dubbed voices. Misa's voice is too high pitched when she goes off but I think the voice actress is good. Other than that the voice IMO are great. (Especially Mari iijima.) The surround sound is great. I recommend this DVd highly! Any word of when Volume 2 will be out? (I'm assuming it isnt out yet because I didnt see it when I picked volume 1 up.)

Yes the original Macross soundtrack is amazing.

Oh great. So that means that even if I pre-order one there is no guarantee I will have one on launch day. (Whenever that is.) So the Spring release date is for Japan?! I always thought that is was for the U.S. So now we have to wait till what? November or so? Not good but on the other hand, the japanese can get the first gen consoles and have them get the PS3s with all the bugs. (Over heating, etc.) While hopefully for the U.S. release they will have worked out all the bugs.

Blue Wind. The animation and characters looked so horrible! I use to skip that one when I had the Animeigo DVDs.

This is great news. This is my first visit to this board in a LONG time. After running into financial difficulties and selling off my Animeigo set I never thought I'd get a chance at the series again. Definitely picking this up this weekend. Was listening to the soundtrack recently and forgot how much I love this series and how much I miss it.
