Bash mindlessly on anything and everything Robotech?
Oh, wait. That already happens.
-
What brought this on, Whiskey? Or is it just more random ranting?
-
What's taking MPC so long to produce Qrau's and Monsters? I guess they're waiting for Yamato to test the waters before they dive in eh? Damn bootlegers!
They're too busy working on the Alpha and Beta toys, not to mention the Cyclones.
I, for one, am more than happy that Toynami is getting out of the incredibly over-saturated VF-1 market. Time for some new toys, I say.

Enough with the bashing. There's nothing really constructive in this thread.
And yes, I didn't like RT 3000 either.
-
What's that, Ladic?

I see a hinge on the GBP that I don't see on the 1/60s. It's right below the hip armour, on the thigh facing towards the user.
Any ideas what that could be for?

Rick's VF-1S Super Armour, as stated on RT.com.
So technically, yes, the Rick armour has been released. They're just Skull 1 parts
-
According to RT.com, the YF-1R will be compatable with the Rick FAST Packs.
Shows that they'll just christen the object in any cool name they can think of.Welcome to real life, EVERYONE does that. It's not just limited to RT.com, I assure you.

Yeah, they did. I like it. It shows original thinking and actually using the footage they have instead of writing it off as a mistake.
Of course, I'm waiting for them to make use of the Cat's Eye Veritech seen for 6/100ths of a second in Force of Arms

Watch out, Skunk. There are some on these boards that take those as fighting words
I like the head also. If the Macross purists here have an issue, (which they won't because they usually don't come in to this thread), then that's a shame. I don't care if a toy is Robotech or Macross as long as it's a good toy. If it is, great. If it isn't, I'll flame it to death.
Amen to that.

Pretty cool, as mecha go.
And I have yet to see ANY toy that comes close to beating the MPC in represeting Guardian mode. That YF pic just clinched it for me.
-
Beautiful work. Nothing more need be said.
-
Anime? Whazzat?
-
Actually, I don't mind the YF-1R all that much.
It's cool, in a freakish mecha-fashion.

We must have pics of that Lacota, David

Pretty pictures. Now, if only I could understand the text...

New dialect, perhaps?
Communicating in the Zentradi language is a good way for spies to operate. Not many people know it or have the desire to learn it.

One thing I always wondered.... why did spiders get most of the love? There are about 10 times as many giant/killer/mutant spider movies then ants.
There are more people scared of spiders than there are people scared of ants.
Filmmakers try to use this extremely common phobia to add tension to their films, with varying degrees of success.

A Robotech idea is presented and discussed on MW and it get's bashed outright? Gee, what a surprise.
It's reactions like this that make me loath to reccomend MW to other people and even to drop by.

They need to make new destroids and variable fighters to sell new models and toys, it's a merchandise thing.
Exactly. I don't have to be happy about it, now do I?
-
Perhaps not, but we have raised over-bitching about movies that have yet to even be made to a new level of art.
-
Personally, I'm rather dissapointed with both the TV ending and the EoE ending. Both left much to be desired in the way of closure for the series.
-
What's the reasoning behind the new Destroids? Weren't the old ones good enough?
ok, the destroids seen in Zero are going to be the Prototypes for the ones later on down the road ( SW1)
so to put in in English, Zero takes place in '08 and SW1 takes place in 2010, so therefore the new destroids are actually the "old" destroids.
Not quite. I know I said I'd never do this, but look at the Compendium, and I quote for the Tomahawk:
Development began in 2001 May and trial production begain in 2003 December. The decision was made to formally introduce the MBR-04 series of Destroids 2006 June and mass production beganAs you say, this is 2008. That means that this Destroid was in use by 2007, a full year before 2008.
To me, this finally nails the coffin on any hope of continuity for Macross. Macross Zero has new designs for everything, regardless.
NEW Official MPC Thread!!!

No company will ever come close to the Great Cow Milking Company known as Bandai.
VF-1 toys, VF-1 models. And that's not even touching the Gundam license...
