This? Not to used to looking at the machine translations on the P-Bandai site, I get my news from you all lol.

April 10, 2020: The order of "METAL BUILD Evangelion First Unit [EVA2020]", which started receiving orders today at 16:00 on April 10th, is
scheduled to be re-ordered due to favorable reception. Please wait for the following information for details.

    -b.

    Ooo thanks.

However, you can wait for P-Bandai Japan to order from and get it with your favorite proxy as it seems there will be another JP PO round. This is based on the rough google translation from the notice on the Eva-01 page.

Where'd you see a 2nd batch announcement?  I checked their page and there's no indication of a 2nd run on the item page (even with the translation).

  3. Damn that is a $picy meatball! Thanks for the link. Been scouting BFB's twitter and fb page the last day cause FJ couldn't pull through on my order T_T. Now I can stop F5'n their twitter and fb pages lol.

*Yea... I got hit with $30 state tax too >.>. Just a bit anxious that they may ship it just as they did with my MS Nu. Brown shipper box with just cardboard corners and fedex shipping labels added to the outside. I even told them I wouldn't mind paying extra for a padded out box and shipping price.

Smell is a big issue, I'm in a condo. I had to set up essentially a fume hood blowing out my window for the printer itself, and it wasn't sufficient.

Ahh that sucks. I ended up making a booth for my FDM printer primarily for when I print with ABS. There's a 12cm static pressure fan, hepa and carbon filter on it and it does decently well I'd say removes about 90-95% of the smell. I also planned on using it when I get an resin printer too, but I can't provide how efficient it is with that yet lol.

  5. This isnt the first time bbts has put up an item at a high price only for bluefinbrand to make a listing just a few days later more towards the actual pbandai msrp. The MS Nu Funnel Set, the gffmc Wing Snow White, and a few others iirc.

Kind of saw a pattern reoccurring here after the 2nd time.*

I'm not buying any more 3D printing stuff. I already have a anycube photon that I CAN'T USE due to how impossible it is to get isopropyl. Only got to make 1 print on it so far.

I did buy a whole new computer though, so there's that.

Ahh yea IPA is high in demand atm. I wanted a resin 3d SLA (or one of the others) printer but also wanted to wait for a larger volume version. There are new ones out there, but still being beta'd. I can't imagine owning a resin 3d printer and not being able to use it during this time because of supply shortage.

I was helping out with printing ventilator splitters for the hospitals in NYC just in case the apex topped out and there was an emergency shortage, so I put my potato Anet A8 to work.

Ugh, the longer the release window drags out, the more I shift from "I can skip this" to "I'll order one if I can", to "I NEEDS IT NOW!"

Ahaha I know the feeling. I think its cause I'm stuck indoors more now that I find myself shopping for things online to keep myself occupied. I just bought myself a creality3d CR-10 V2 with a BL-Touch sensor to replace my three year old Anet A8. I was eyeing the Prusa MK3S last week but the leadtime went from 5-7 days to 4-5 weeks. I'll wait till next month for that one. XD

Looks like FromJapan managed to secure an order for me.

Anyone still looking: try DeJapan and Zen Market.

If those fail, and you don't mind paying similar price to NY you can try emailing Gentei Kits and seeing if he can get one for you.

Yea... FJ failed me. I put an order in about 3:15am EST opening night (day in jpn 4:15pm) and found out they cancelled my order yet accepted a friend's order who placed nearly 6+ hrs after mine. I paid as soon as the option was available too.

Going to give DJ as try since that's where I have my Nu Funnels.

Wasnt going to bother with the freedom but saw the link as soon as you posted and placed an order lol. Thanks.

Edit: i was sitting on diablo 3 till 3:01am... rolled into bed and checked the thread... lol XD

  10. No problem! Sorry I didn't get more involved earlier.

Okay yea thats what I thought regarding the nub, if the outer shell would eventually be cut away.

Ahh okay that makes since about the additional feature near the top and the led switch.

Yea I can see the issue with the geometry now regarding the radius and the top bar/extension.

Yessh. I never ordered from shapeways as of yet, but however I am familiar with their lengthy process. I never read up on their metal printing process. Those variances will definitely be a killer.

  11. Okay I printed up the part. The orginal side fits with no problem.

The issue with the doubled side is two (maybe three) problems.

    1. The distance of the doubled part modeled is too short

    2. There's a little nub (feature) on the outside edge that hits the blue backpiece (preventing it from sitting flush)

    3. The little indentation (feature) that is on the original side but is missing on the doubled side? It might be needed when the backpack is fitted onto the qant.

  12. Okay I tried to fit the part after cleaning it up and the top part of it was a bit too tight (the inner diameter for extrusion 3).

    20200314_205200.thumb.jpg.c9de19a00c17e08c9050919a23f7ab3d.jpg

I also measured Bandai's metal bracket for the inner and outer diameter, theirs is about 3.65mm Diameter (inner) and 5.40mm D (outter).

    20200314_205430.thumb.jpg.e393eab142ce6201225ea3e5d9e52ec3.jpg20200314_205800.thumb.jpg.17f7259b002da896fb00efae89035b9d.jpg20200314_205847.thumb.jpg.599e6d8ae2d0ffa5e13f54b525b9fcd2.jpg

I believe yours was 3.6mm D (inner) and 2.356mm Radius (4.7mm outer). I adjusted it so the inner is 3.7mm and left the outer the same since the circular extrusion looked to be measured to the outside of the bracket.

    20200314_210457.thumb.jpg.76c5c4ea77f347bc48e43d59563d8390.jpg20200314_210856.thumb.jpg.d3929a1dcf3619508d20994935696969.jpg

Currently printing up another one with the slight modifications. I'll post a response after I attempt to test fit.

    Edit:

Okie dokie the 3.7mm Diameter (inner) change seemed to work! Just a hair snug...

    20200314_215347.thumb.jpg.22c3b25edb064faca2987ecdc010c1d5.jpg

the unfinished surface is because my printbed was just a wee bit too high to the hot end.

    Quant Bracket2.00.stlQuant Bracket2.00.ipt

  13. Okay I got the file and export it as an .stl. going to give this a few prints with different settings and see how it turns out.

    Edit:

    First print about 18 mins (with bed heating); ABS; 0.2mm 60mm/s speed, supports;

Now i just need to dig up the mb qant again... lol.

  14. I really should've replied to you earlier. I have an Anet A8 (Prusa clone). It's been working well for me on most prints for ABS and great pretty much anything PLA. I do plan on eventually get a better printer (Creality and an SLA of some sort). If you like I could try printing out the part with my Anet A8 and test the fit on my MB Qant.

Yea when printing parts through Shapeways there isn't too much of a price difference, just really a wait process.

    Edit:

I guess I could also pull out my MB Qant and (shy of taking it completely apart) cad it up on AD Inventor, XD.

  15. Aww damn... sorry to hear. The finish on it looks great and looks pretty close for use too!

    Edit:

Looking at it closer I didn't realize you modeled up the same side. I'm guessing for testing purposes for precision and if it fits you'd flip it symmetrically. Do you have access to a 3d printer? I should've asked after your initial post, but I think I refrained because you stated you ordered the part through shapeways already.
