@no3Ljm -  Here's the original screen shot that @Slave IVwas taking about before it went into crazy town on Amazon jp.

Ya i figured it was lower (around msrp), but azjp sells out fast and allows resellers to list immediately.

a bit of a catch 22 for eager buyers that just keep clicking the add to cart and checkout without looking at the numbers. One could accidently buy an inflated price, lol.

Yeahh.. as noticed from previous VF-1J Armored set PO, many shops like HLJ, AE now price them equivalent to base price + Japanese domestic tax. The domestic tax should actually be waived for export. In effect, these shops are already scalping during PO..

Yea... hlj and ae use to offer lower prices... not sure if its because of the tax (but prob is) or just to recoup the costs of their services (people cancelling on them, etc). The scalping/inflated prices I was referring to was azjp's relistings by 3rd parties. 40+k already.

  3. cdj always has the cheapest listing, but one of the highest shipping. Cdj is nice if you remember to use your discount points, lol. Plus waiting for their email listings are too damn slow and their site search is garbage.

I'm sure the demand is artificial... just scalpers or people who missed out the first time. Hlj does have one of the higher prices.

    order stop at hlj

pre -order button opened a few times but couldn't check out. i tried on different browsers just to double check and was able to add to cart. but that's about it. i'm happy for the hlj one so i guess i don't need a 2nd

    agree, the costs are astronomical.

i still have a dx stuck bc they are overcharging for shipping and no amount of writing to them will convince them to change the incorrect amount.

i have 2 fast packs combined shipped from them for a decent price but for some reason the dx that comes in smaller box than 2 fastpacks combined, the  shipping charge quoted  was insane for the dx. and they would not let me combine and ship the dx with the fast packs.

Okay... yea now I'm seeing it pop back up, but the checkout is still hanging... T_T

    What the?!?!?! :shok:

Yea I know... -_-. I couldnt recall where I saw members saying they ordered it. But wanted to share as soon as I saw the news. A friend wanted to get it. As cool as it looks and during these times I had to pass on it. Plus about the same price I would probably lean towards the PGUnleashed instead.

Annnnnnd I shouldnt be talking because I just bought HT Warmachine MK6 from Amiami at a really marked down price (235$ + shipping costs). I had to settle for ferry and couldnt justify spending 95$ on shipping via dhl when it'll just sit in my storageroom after it arrives, lol.

I can see what you're trying to point out but the issue with the prototype is that it isn't accurate anymore to the final render of the armor. The prototype most likely was based on the early designs/ promotional art by Disney/Marvel. Obviously, Hot Toys will redesign it to accurately match the final render or else it's not just the RDJ headsculpt that people will be up in arms about. This is similar to the Mk46 and Mk50 armors. Early prototypes of their figures were based on the promotional art and people were quick to point out the differences from the actual armor seen in the movie. I can't blame Hot Toys for the loss of some details on the armor on this one.

Meh... this was probably the best I was able to find regarding the detail of the final render used in the movie version.

Although the detail lines up more accurately with the final HT version (the serratus, abdominal section does look indeed flattened out opposed to the prototyped HT version), I guess I'm just bummed out that they didn't keep the thiccboi features from the fight scene... wider shoulders, chest section...
Even with that render of Tony 'suiting up' it shows how much Marvel's animation artists needed to adjust the suit to fit RDJ's frame. Where as other shots of the movie the armor seemed like a muscle suit around him.

There was even a shot of Tony waking up Capt and meeting up with Thor (but I couldn't find a net reference image) before the end fight with Thanos and it showed just how wide the mk85's shoulders were.

Too much cinema magic... it's like they got the idea from macross... lol jking.

Meh it is what it is I guess.

I'm not sure what you're referring to here but it looks accurate to the actual armor from the movie scene.

Honestly I'm not so irked about the headsculpt. I already knew the head version shown from the prototype made RDJ/TS too 'clean', 'chiseled' and 'healthy' looking. There wasn't enough age and wear on his face. I wasn't getting the mk 85 for RDJ's head but for the armor.

I didn't compare the final version to the movie version, but initially the prototype is what sold and caught the attention of the fans (especially for me). I'm aware they had a 'prototype - subject to change clause' on their pics, but they could've given it a fair heads up seeing how many places required deposits up front. Not that anyone who put a ~70$ deposit down would've cancelled at that point.

I don't want to flood the thread with comparative pics but there's enough from their fb final product picture thread and pics shown on sideshow, bbts, etc for comparison (unless sideshow, etc updates their listed pictures).

I thought it might've just been the color painting scheme/arrangement/pattern change at first but then realized how much of the sculpted detail on the body (and maybe the actual proportions) were changed.

The flared edges by the clavicle/chest/shoulder area (the amount of lines and the actual curved feature of the chest plate). It went from a more pronounced wave to a lesser one with additional and more straighter lines which don't follow the flow of the new curved feature as well.

The abdominal/rib/serratus section no longer looks has the organic muscular like features, but more flatten out and drawn out panels instead.

The shoulder covers seem to have been flatten out or less rounded out, making the overall appearance look narrower. And yes they actually changed the sculpt of the shoulders too... a few panel lines suggest they made an actual change.

And I speculated that maybe they changed it for articulation purposes, but it seemed to me that their prototype version had no problem with poses.

There's probably more, but I decided not to dig myself a hole of dislike and accept what is going to be released.

    IE. Rib, shoulder, neck sections:

But then, all they were offering is an updated head sculpt based on what they posted on their Facebook since the figure was already released. I guess between those marketing photos (prototypes) during the initial announcement of the product it might probably went back to more tweakings in-between.

Yea I'm guessing/thinking the same way too. It's a nice gesture that they're offering a replacement for the initial headsculpt, but I was originally sold on the armor... I really liked the 'organic' look of the prototype and less of the 'flattened' version of the final.

    EDIT:
Just realizing it now since I looked at the legs, they also changed those too. It's like they went with a wholeeee different version. lol.

They use multiple locations to preorder the items to get around the limit ,    so it can take around a week or so to get the item from 1 location to their main warehouse.

Thank you for the information. I wasn't aware, but it makes plenty of sense. I'm not expecting it anytime before the end of the year anyways due to all the delays (it's to be expected).

Haha yeah. The claims about NY in this case are completely untrue. My lower than MSRP order from them has shipped and I know of at least a few others. Yes, they seem to have delays on some items but again, they are still delivering sooner or later. Even the SSP situation, they are not flat out saying they are not going to deliver. I don't care what people want to do and absolutely understand why many do not want to and will not shop there. All good! I do think it's silly that people come up with their own imaginary stories and explanations and then spread that around and take it as fact. I also don't understand why people are so quick to demand refunds and chargebacks when they have a lowest price locked in without waiting a bit to see what happens. Either way, makes no difference to me other than possibly expediting my orders because of other people cancelling theirs. Sucks there are any issues at all but end of day to me, these are toys and not worth ANY headache so I don't let any of it bother me. I get my toys or I don't and save more money...win, win!

Going to keep it short. You're right... not completely true, yet still holds very true. I too have an order at MSRP and NY still continues to play that game with fulfilling orders that came later at higher than msrp to fufill. I've been a customer with NY for about 8 or 9 years now and they still pull the same crap... not even responding to tickets and beating around the bush with their online chat. They should just cut the online support off and go 100% with supporting/answering their tickets instead... seems like NY can't do anything right except for those that want to put them on a pedestal.
