  1. Amen to that my toy collecting brother. has yamato ever thought about the toy collector? toy collectors(such as myself) are crazy. we buy every variant, every scheme, everything cool and most likely in multiples. ranging from diecast to figures to valks. would I have bought multiples of the Q-rau if it was moderately priced...as would many of us on MW. how smart was it for yamato to charge what they charge not knowing or maybe knowing this? either way, it's pretty stupid if you ask me. demand(for macross stuff) not so good + high prices = don't expect anymore enemy mechs due to poor sales and as far as the 1/60 monster goes...who the hell are they marketing THAT to?? how many huge ass japanese homes have you been in in japan? that thing will be the size of their living room. good luck selling that instead of a nice sized SDF-1. and yah, if price is like $300(but doubtful now that I've seen the q-raus price) I'm definitely getting 1....or 2. 1 to keep my dog company in the yard.
  2. lol, well, if it can't hold THE gun, doubt it'll be able to scratch either. the reason I say it probably won't be able to hold the gun is because I'm afraid of the looseness. the way I designed it might be good enough to hold a pose ie, pointing, fists, or flipping off...but might not be sturdy enough to hold the weight of the gun.
  3. ok, not to bring this thread up again, but I wanted to know if people would be interested in a POSEABLE left hand. I was in Vegas this weekend and had some time to draw some things up and it seems very doable(I know you're thinking, "You were in Vegas and all you can think of was your stupid custom hand???" Well, I was there for a expo and had to wake up early everyday, didn't wanna have to deal with a hangover or worse). This might take a while and will probably lead to a poseable right hand. but these hands will probably NOT be able to hold the gun. If it all works out...we should have this in 2 weeks, though it looks like I'll be making a trip out to Boston soon. anyway, lets hear a nay or yay for this please. thanks.
  4. I don't like the fists much myself, and like cdr fokker said, there's not much use for them. so yah, I think I'm going to stay away from the fists. and no, these won't fit inside the arms. they are meant to be removed as they are fairly wide and I think in much better proportion than the stock dyrl hands. thanks again for all the comments.
  5. it's probably going to be the same pose as the TV hands. or what I can try to do is make it so it's gripping around the gunpod more? or I can make both. I can also try to make fists...but each will probably take 1-2 weeks...I didn't see a need for fists. any other suggestions welcome before I get started.
  6. I think my most expensive single purchase for a toy is $325. It was for a limited edition Saint Seiya collectors box of the Gold Saints that was released for a toy show in Japan a few years ago. Most expensive Yamato was the VF-1J with FPs...a close second would be how much I paid for that TRU CF vf-1a...which is also in the book of the most stupidest purchases. =P
  7. ok, I was one of the doods bitching about something recently. honestly, I dont' see anything wrong with puttin up your opinions, whether it be positive or negative. what we need less of is people calling those who say something negative "bitches". are the pessimists not allowed to give their comments because they ideas are different from yours? does the negative feedback on a toy, literally stop you from making your toy purchases? I seriously hope not. If I find something that I think is worth the money, will I go out and buy it even tho other people say it's crap? you bet your money maker i will. so in restrospect, we as a community just need to respect each others opinions. I should be able to bitch and whine all I want, as I am allowed to praise and acclaim something to be a worthy purchase. edit in: I don't find my opinion more important than the next persons. if you can convince me otherwise of the way I think, great, I'll accept it...but I hope that goes the other way around too.
  8. OMFG!! Leisure Suit larry would make a freakin awesome comedy!! if they get it right. those games were fun as hell. prince of persia...I'll have to wait for the trailer to come out and see how it is. great possibilites, but also great chance of screwing it up. and yah, karateka kicked ass!

    Q-Rau is 1/60

Sorry man but you are talking about MILLIĀ“s BUTT !!! That Butt is a terrorist act against all the macross fan base! HOW CAN WE "CHILL OUT" ! Hoooooo I seeeeee You are not a real fan of our beloved green haired queen... Whoa! Calm down Sebastian. I was just joking... as usual... haha, some ppl just dont' know you well enough. so for ppl who don't know sebastian...ignore him for the most part, he's just full of hot air.
  10. wow...even after all the black label i had tonight...I can still see clearly enough to say...wow! I'm so glad Jung hasn't stopped making customs. you've got some of the best customs/skills around and it'll be a shame to not see you continue your work. awesome awesome stuff. WOW!!!
  11. thank you guys for all the comments. If at all possibel, I'd definitely recast so other ppl can have these. like many of you, I was really unsatisfied with the stock dyrl poseable hands...too loose for my taste. I will keep you guys updated with recast possibilities. as for the other hand, I really don't have much to show. I've only worked on it a little bit and I'm thinking that I need to take each individual finger, remove them, sand/shape them, and then reconnect them somehow. it'll probably take me another week or so to have something I can show for that. but it'll basically be that open posed hand like the TV style. again, thanks for your support.
  12. yup yup tony, I brought the hand in it's earlier stages that one time we were supposed to meet up at the track. I will meet with rhoby to talk about another project I want to start and at that time I will ask if it's possible to recast. I actually wouldn't mind having a few of these myself...definitely don't wanna spend another week making another single hand.
  13. Thanks! But come on people, identify the toys/models! Otherwise this is just a wacky picture thread. I'm all for wacky picture threads...but yah, I think this was supposed to be used for size comparisons...oh well, on with the show!!
  14. ok, after I got a hold of Rhoby's recast of the TV style hands, I started working on these DYRL type fixed posed hands. I'm almost done with the right hand and need to start working on the left hand. I tried to follow the line art from the Gold Book as much as I can, and there's still a few details I want to add in. but anyway check it out, LMK what you think. I think this will be the first time I finish a project(non-school or work related of course) so I'm pretty damn proud of myself.
  15. still down...anybody ask rhoby if he wants to recast this? I know he's fast and his casts are good. stupid me...edit in...and a big thanks for the guy who wishes to remain anonymous.

    Q-Rau is 1/60

Oh but you have to ask Danny secretary at our job... Hotty McYumyum!!! oh hotty mcyumyum...mmm mmm good butt. not gonna comment on the q-rau...I think you guys already know how I feel. hehe. it is pretty big tho...nice sized toy...decent articulation. great possibility of somebody making a poseable miria...I know exo's already thinking of a tv green version.
  18. yah, well I went to a KB today and still didn't see one. and yup, those are some good shizt...you should try the magnums...very flavorful without harshness.
  19. put me on the interested list. whatever I can do, I'll do...which probably won't be much...but I'm here anyway!
  20. see, I'd definitely pay for that...you know there's gonna be a lot more work put into that than a simple Q-Rau. and yah...2 would be awesome.
  21. you mean the little sticker under the yellow "saint seiya" on the front that has a bear on it with a hat? seems mine has them...I know the first seiya I bought I bought at a store whom the seller gets most of his stuff from HK(him being Cantonese and all). if it's not, please post of pic of what you're talkin about. and that picture is sick...I know the characters all look girlie...but...*sigh* you're killing my childhood heros!!
  22. this is really funny because nobody buys tehse things even at $15. Final Fantasy Odin
  23. has anybody gotten the Shun figure yet? how is it? and does anybody have any leads for the metal plates released for HK? I'm looking for Seiya, Shiryu, and Shun's(also the shun figure).
  24. damn no wonder they didn't have any at walmart!
  25. I've always thought it was the second one because it allows the chest to lay down flat against the legs.
