  1. I read that Boeing is offering the F-15X to the USAF as replacements for their aging C models. The X is like the QA but single seat. I'm guessing CFT's would be carried as standard. Are the QA/X's engines enough to counter the added drag and weight of the CFT's? I do remember hearing the Beagle wasn't anywhere near as good in DACM compared to the C model(on F-16.net, a Viper Driver didn't think much of the Beagle). However I also remember reading that the Slam Eagle, SG, SA and QA models would have higher thrust from newer models of the F100 engine.
  2. Easy to disassemble until you get to the intake. Beneath the lower ball joint housing is where the thigh/drawer joint is secured. On 1 leg on my copy, that connection wobbles a bit. Not at the drawer hinge itself but the actual thigh piece. Not sure if mine is missing a screw or a peg within that housing(unscrewed the cover on top of the other intake and didn't notice any missing screws). So if anything is missing, I won't know until either the fanblade section to the front or the lower ball joint housing is removed. They aren't easy to remove, not sure if they are soldered or glued into place. Not a deal breaker but not consistent with the other thigh which is rock solid in that housing. Could be a case of missing glue, who knows. Might be a very easy bandaid solution that I'll be testing out soon.
  3. Does the AC5 that comes with PS4 preorders still retain the Operation Katina arcade mode? Hell I might end up preordering this.
  4. Here's the intake opened up. If I could just find a way to remove the ball joint housing, I can figure out what's causing the thigh on mine to wiggle.
  5. I'm down for VF-0 unpaint kits molded in grey, same for VF-1 unpaint kits.
  6. Could be but Toynami was eager to implement light up visors on the MPC VF-1 to make them "look alive". Maybe it's someone at HG that likes that or George Sohn from Toynami asking HG for it. The 1/72 scale made me think Sohn had some influence on the KitzConcept VF-1 since that's the same scale as the HCM, which is his favorite toy. Ultimately I would much rather have a retractable gun handle instead of a light up gun barrel.
  7. So I forgot but to get AC5 you have to just preorder this right? It's not part of any other special edition? I'm cautiously excited. I like the upgrade system from the PSP/Infinity games but wish the actual CG model per plane would reflect those upgrades. I'm worried about a short campaign or a boring prolonged campaign(AC6). I really liked the PSP games and preferred them over Assault Horizon. I've enjoyed this series since AC2, main missteps being the US version of AC3 with substantial substance cut out and Assault Horizon. I enjoyed AH but felt it would've worked better in the arcades or as a F2P game. Seemed like Namco was trying to bank on immediate thrillseeking to emulate an experience from COD. Not surprisingly, I did see a game by Bandai at Dave and Busters that's seems to use the same engine as AH and you get to use the CFA44 Nosferatu.
  8. I'm surprised hasn't released more repaints/rereleases of the VF-1 in the meantime. I'd be down for the following: VF1D low vis Super Ostrich VF1S Max If the latter 2 are released I think I can call my 1/60 Yamcadia VF-1 collection done.
  9. So to date, has anyone been able to completely take apart the DX VF1J intake to release the thigh? I haven't seen it done. I don't know if the thigh piece is secured into the intake whether through a screw or being soldered to it.
  10. I can see myself buying the following: -VF1A Hikaru -VF1S Hikaru Strike -VF1S TV Roy -VF1S Max -VF1A mass production -VF1D orange -ELINT Seeker -Super Ostrich
  11. Would've preferred if the gun pod handle didn't need to be removed to attach the gun in Fighter mode. Oh well, if I get this. Maybe I'll just leave the cartoon hands on and the handle inside the right hand, or leave the stock hands out in Fighter mode with the gun handle stored in the forearm. I'm surprised they went for the light up gun gimmick. Bet Toynami insisted on that, they love light up gimmicks for some reason.
  12. Uh what? Wow this place has changed in the years since I used to frequently post here. All those downvotes just more attention to our posts. I didn't know someone was habitually using them. Anyone able to fill me in via PM? I'll take pics of the intake opened up. The good thing is, no rubber washers to enclose the joint! The balljoint housing uses diecast metal and a hard grey plastic. Eventually that plastic may wear down so that silicone joint tightening fix you came up with for the DX VF-25 might come into play here in the future.
  13. That 1/48 VF-25 was a model, love to see a DX 1/48 VF-25 too though
  14. LOL yea of all the VF's Bandai is making the VF-1 is the one that's the least prone to paint rubbing. Paint rub has been standard for Bandai since Frontier with the VF-1s affected the least out of all.
  15. Cross posting here with regards to the DX VF-1J: Got mine in, largely satisfied. However, has anyone taken apart the intake? On 1 leg, the section of the leg that plugs into the intake(the part with the drawer joint; the hinge itself is not loose), is looser than the other. For example it has a bit of wiggle room whereas the other is solid/tight. I've unscrewed the top plate above the intake(3 screws) and that only gives you access to the ball joint and it's housing. There is another layer of parts and beneath that is where the drawer joint is secured. I'm not sure if there's a screw missing, misaligned peg or what. I don't know how to take this bottom layer apart. It's the lower half of the housing for the hip ball joint. I do recall reading about this before but I forgot where and I don't think it's widespread. It's not a huge bother but I'm curious as to what caused this and how to fix this. The drawer joint itself, the actual hinge is not loose, just the section where it plugs into the intake.

  17. Hope we can get some more obscure valks in this line like the VF-2JA, Metal Siren, VF-XX Zentran Valkyrie and VF-3000
  18. Arcadia has been waiting for license approval since last December. At least they were still trying at that point, not sure if they still are.
  19. I do find it odd that we've yet to see a photo with the landing gear down
  20. GTFO..... am I reading this right.... Ace Combat 5 remastered on the PS4 deluxe edition?!
  21. Yes they are removable pieces
  22. Agreed, most popular is the VF-1 with the YF-19 more than likely being 2nd.
  23. Yea I just kept the fold booster on, I took off all the FAST packs. I got annoyed with the armor after it fell off constantly when transforming and posing.
