  1. I have some of the revotech macross stuff on my desk at work, unfortunately people approach my desk and say "oh Robotech how cool". you don't understand how sad that makes me.

That's much better than calling them transformers. One did recognize my 1:55 looks really like his old Jet Fire.

  2. I always wonder how do Zentradi and human/micron live together on Frontier without lots of crushing accidents.

Only valk incident I remember is a shelf dive of my VF-4 - the 1/250 not the future Yamato - and it's left wing is currently hiding somewhere in my room. I recommend gluing the parts of the 1/250 (especially the wave 1) before putting them up.

  3. Interesting note, but not surprising (though some people around here seemed shocked/disappointed by this on the VF-17.) There are going to be removable covers for the hands on that thing just like every other version of the 17/171.

Another interesting note: The head guns/fins can be hidden in fighter mode, or they came in the box detached and the setup guy forgot to attach them. He also seems to forgot to attach the main gun in fighter mode, and missed a step in G/B mode and leaving those shoulder hinges exposed.

  4. 1:48 VS 1:60v2:

Con - Much less tempo paints - even the cockpit side kites need stickers. Chicken fingers and only TV version come with extra hands. Slightly worst B mode proportion. GBP is too fat.

Pro - Slightly better fighter mode proportion. Extra gimmicks - antenna on back pack, movable wing flaps and air brake, removable missiles in super and GBP packs.

Edit: one more pro for 1:48 - super/strike pack connected to the back pack using metal bar, more accurate than the big plastic holder on 1:60v2 but also more dangerous since it put a lot of weight on the back pack's hinge and hook.

  5. Guys let the computer do that work for you.

Install one of these add-on to your browser:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/update-scanner/

    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pemhgklkefakciniebenbfclihhmmfcd#detail/pemhgklkefakciniebenbfclihhmmfcd

Tell them to scan the store listing page every 15 minutes. When you sleep leave the PC on and make sure they don't go to sleep on idle but you can turn the screen off. Leave the speakers on and tell the tool to play a song when one of the page changes. You will get false positive like when HLJ update the exchange rate.

  6. You forgot the VF-25F.

Well there were too many questions and options already, and it's supply were much less limited then thanks to a second batch so most could get them at regular price - HLJ listed it at regular discount for a week after release, unlike the others. I remembered because I got mine from AmiAmi after release at no discount and if HLJ listed it earlier I could saved a bit.

  7. I know I'm kind of late on this, but since I got back into collecting last month and got a VF-25F v2 on it's way, I was wondering where could I buy the v2 super parts at a reasonnable price. I found BBTS at 110$, but paying twice the MSRP is a bit of a downer. Any suggestions?

It will be hard to find it cheap now since Bandai already closed the web order for the super parts. All that can be listed are what the individual shops ordered and they can't order more from Bandai.

  8. Well, I've heard that it isn't rare to find something akin to a VF-25 alto renewal, etc. in a hobbby store in HK or Japan (at least, when compared to online retailers).

Yes but Graham also mentioned the street price for the DXv2 VF-25F in Hong Kong is about HK$2000, i.e. about the same as eBay. I don't know what kind of price real shops in Japan are charging, but it is looking crazy at Amazon.co.jp.

  9. Ok, are any of you guys as confused as me that these things (VF-25 renewal, etc.) are actually available easily in stores in japan/hk, but online retailers don't seem to be carrying them?

    I can't understand why

Well I can't understand where you get that. The YF-29 and VF-25S are hard to find in Hong Kong. The YF-29 reissue pre-order is just messy with some shop refunding quickly after they took too much pre-orders.
