  1. I always felt Docker was and unnecessary poor antagonist to Gamlin and a made the VF-19 look useless since they were supposed to be superior to the VF-17 in every way, unlike how Max and Miria kicked ass in their VF-22S. Back on topic, never saw the 19P as a canvas for customization, would be really kickass to see an awesome scheme on the 19P, the only thing that I have towards the 19P is the wings design is more close to the YF-19, VF-19A instead of the near inverted delta of the VF-19S/F which I thought made the fighter look fat.
  2. I guess the definite color tones of the VF-4 will be like the TV version of the SDF-1.
  3. I'm sorry to say this, but I don't like the 19P much, maybe it is like a lot of you guys say and picture do no justice to the 19P specifically. My VF19S, VF17S and a VF1J are waiting for me at home, won't be home until saturday to open my boxes. Maybe I don't like the 19P because Basara sat on it and sang like an idiot and then a whale blew up and its blood turn it into a 19Kai suddenly and more stupid Basara singing.. I guess I would get the 19P if i have some extra cash lying around (doubt it), anyway, its probably sold out everywhere by now thanks to all you guys.
  4. Thanks everyone. I saw several times FB2012 and the color of those parts were chocolate, I always thought it was dark gray until I had a closer look at FB2012 or maybe my copy is just bad quality, checked several sources and it did look chocolate, I wanted to make it as close to canon as possible. I will add a dull coating to get rid of the shine that makes it stand out more than it should and make everything more even and flush. Kurisama, that head is outstanding.
  5. F-117A Nighthawk as mentioned had passive stealth by its diamond shape and special "RAM" coating that absorbs radio waves to minimize its radar cross section. It's design was highly unstable and pretty much unflyable if not by several computers keeping the aircraft straight, the intake and exhaust were also covered within a mesh housing to reduce RCS, making it a subsonic aircraft with no afterburners, it had also no AA capability, no gun, and could only carry a payload of 2 AG missiles. So in essence the F-117A was a slow, clumsy, undefended aircraft that if could be engaged and shot down easily by visual contact. This is why it was painted black and only did night missions. As many Macross aircraft that are based on real life aircraft, the VF-17 is based on the F-117A, so its aesthetics has no real function in the Macross universe, I'm sure a clever explanation can be given as to why it has that design, but the VF-17 was just designed inspired on real life counterpart, a popular concept by Kawamori.
  6. And now, some fun with the VF-4! ^_^
  7. Finally done with my VF-4 Hikaru FB2012 theme, tried my best to do a full FB2012 scheme after looking at those 5 sec of VF-4 action on FB2012 a zillion times and a lot of lineart, gotta say I'm pretty happy with the results, really gives a lot of attitude to the VF-4. In resume, i painted THE nosecone tan, TOP tailfins black with red stripes and skull insignia, those legs things that were red, thrusters and top intake, chocolate (thought it would look weird, but looks rather good), the tail exhaust? tan with red stripe, yellow arrow decal on beam gun fuselage area, panel lined, remove the light blue on the fins and tampo "made in china/big west" tampo on wings, glued those f*cking missiles launchers. Lots of pics incoming. Stock VF-4G looks so plain now Still have to add a little dulling coat to make everything more even, the chocolate ended a bit shiny.
  8. I'm a professional now, when I started collecting Yamato's I was finishing school, I've delved into mush expensive hobbies, but I still consider Yamato's overpriced, mostly because there is always something faulty and floppy about each valk considering their price points. I love the VF-4 but after the honeymoon period have found many things that should not be present on a 360+ limited valk and dislike. I understand the immense engineering they go trough and the tough niche market for their pricing, but why they never improved on little things like ratchet joints is beyond me. I hope this Arcadia transition brings improvement to Macross valks if they keep their current bloated price points.
  9. Wicked customs, great jobs. I'm almost finished with mine, trying my best to make as FB2012 as possible, debating on how the hell to mask the whole valk for 2 small red circles. BTW, stupid thin panel lines <_<
  10. Great pics Swoosh, makes me glad I ordered a 19S, guess I'll have to get me the 19F before you guys buy them all too. Bummer about the 19P Gerwalk. Guess I'll find out soon but is the blue plastic really that shiny on the VF-19's?
  11. I presume Arcadia will most likely reissue the v2 VF-1 series to test the waters and if the rumors are true then followed by v2 YF-19 and Zero valks. *crossing fingers* This Yamato-Arcadia transition will give me some time to catch up on my valk collection
  12. Interested in what Arcadia might release Macross wise in the near future
  13. In theory, Arcadia should keep domain of any Yamato product license so they can continue/keep any acquired license Yamato owned.
  14. Well, part of the problem of our worries if Arcadia/Yamato will continue the Macross line is because the Big West license is so expensive for this niche that no other company will find this a profitable venture.
  15. The awesomeness of this built is on par on the massive scale of this monster. More pics please.
  16. We'll have to wait till the end of the week for Chinese new years if over to perhaps get some updates from Arcadia/Yamato
  17. Frontier license probably locked by Bandai like they had the Macross 7 franchise locked and did nothing with it. Anyway, Yamato has plenty of valks to make from their current license, they can still milked the VF-1 to death like they've been doing for the past 5 years and people buy them. We all want reissues. From the Macross 7 and VFX license, they can make any valkyrie from the Macross universe. I would like a VF-5000 and VF-14! Anyway, I know Yamato is mostly doll figuring and stuff more than Mecha, but I've always wondered why they've never venture into the whole Zentradi, Meltrandi 1/60 figures to go along with our VF's.
  18. Impressive! keep up the good work man!
  19. I was never a fan of the VF.4 battroid, but I just love the way such a sleep looking aircraft turns into battroid.
  20. I guess a good sign is also how sudden this news came to be, usually when a company is going to hell is known months in advanced and from what I've seem, late 2011 and 2012 was very prosperous for Yamato, so I hope they continue on with their Macross endeavors.
  21. Love those Macross LEGO model, GBP is outstanding giving my support now!!!! Imagine a LEGO Tecnic with motors on a VF-1 design allowing for some sort of transformation!
  22. hmmm...very worrying to see this, now that Yamato is at their peak in VF designs. Would seem off if they do not continue making Macross item, and I bet they spent quite a bit on the VFX license for the VF-4 and would be a waste not to milk that license. As much as I critized Yamato in the past, I admit it would be very sad to see them stop making Macross items, because Bandai has no soul for Macross.
  23. HAHA, oh wow, I stand corrected, you guys are hardcore, my humble apologies, I never noticed those before.
  24. WOW!! Thanks for the heads up, just ordered this bad boys. Damn stores and their sales drawing me back to Yamato's clutches!!
